I mean... I cried hysterically after we went 2-0 down after 11 minutes against Juve in the Champs League Semi's in 99... then again I was 10.

I'd say even 10 was too old to be crying over football. Maybe it was just the way I was brought up. All these metrosexual men these days.

In other news, how cheap does the trophy look! Looks like a local school made it with some tin foil and cardboard.

I cried like a little pitch when Porto robbed us in 2004 the fucking cunts. When I was what, 12?

But the Europa League? Come on.

Liverpool never showed up for the second half. I am not sure why people keep calling this success for Klopp. He won nothing, did nothing in the league and next season you will be without European football. Just about what Rodgers would have got you to.

Because they're still in a honeymoon period.

Yeah, he's had a pretty shit start and nothings really paid off. Wonder how much he regrets fielding those utter jokes of a side he did in the last few weeks of the Prem and ultimately missing out on European football entirely?

Should really regret it. I think some clubs just have their minimum expectations in the league, and giving up on them to win something else is too risky. Spurs gave up on the EL to try and get the league title. Did they fail? Nah, they finished in a CL spot anyways...

Klopp's record in finals is appalling.

To be fair to him, most of those were against Bayern, while his 2 for Liverpool were against probably better teams. Although we should have won both.

Absolutely gutted. Should have sawn it up in the first half. Fuck the ref, cunt, blaming him for some of it too. Piss poor 2nd half, no fight at all at 3-1. Gutted.

What's with this hate for Klopp aswell? He's come in half a season and got us to 2 cup finals with some absolute piss poor players. Also changed the atmosphere around the club massively. Ninja you just called a fan out for crying over the Europa League, but said Klopp shouldn't have fielded a weak team..? Means we can fully concentrate on the league, as much as I wanted to win this, saves us a shit load of games over the season.

Don't get the hate on Klopp. Course he's won nothing but he's not had the chance to make this team his own yet and two get to two cups finals is an achievement from where we've been these last few seasons that's for sure.

Genuinely think missing out on European football could be a huge boost for us next year, yeah financially and player wise it won't help, but it'll reduce the games massively, think we played 53? 63? Games this season, the normal premier league is 38 Games. Hopefully he can get players playing their best again and sort out the defensive woes this summer

Its not hate, but he's got undue credit for a season that would have gone exactly the same as if Rodgers had not been sacked.

Cause it really wouldn't have. No chance for a comeback vs Dortmund for a start.

2 assists vs Leicester, 2 goals and 2 assists vs United, 2 assists vs City, assist vs Spurs and a goal against Bayern.

Some record for a player who goes missing in big games.

Coutinho is the biggest MOTD player I've ever seen. If people only watch that they'd think that him and Barkley were two of the best players in the Prem.

Pretty sure it looks better on the club on reaching the final than not reaching it. No idea how you're seeing anything he's done as failures considering where we were at when he came in.

Yes, but ultimately meaningless (besides, what happened against Dortmund was hardly the result of managerial genius, its football, the improbable happens sometimes).

You were, what? 10th I think and a point off 7th and finished off 8th with virtually the same point per game ratio. He also took over after about 8 games which is more than enough time for it to be reasonable to pass judgement

I'm not saying that he will be a failure, just that if he wasn't called Jürgen Klopp virtually no one would be arguing that Liverpool have had a good season and he did not have the impact that might have been hoped when he was appointed.

If anyone honestly thinks this season under Klopp hasn't been an improvement on Rodgers then they are absolutely mental, in 3 years Rodgers was in charge we didn't make it to a single cup final and we've already been in 2.

How anyone can say "well you might have done that under Rodgers" is baffling, have you seen how we performed in cup competitions under Rodgers? We had the one season we challenged for the league, which is looking more and more like an anomaly but aside from that there was nothing to suggest he'd have got us to one cup final let alone two.

Also its not just about what has happened under Klopp but what can happen in the summer, even without European football Klopp has a damn sight more pulling power than Rodgers, players will want to play for him.

Heh, that was the last match I cried at too I think, I was also 12. I'm still not over it.

This season Liverpool have had a lower league finish than all three seasons under Rodgers. I think next season will show if Klopp is an improvement over him, he's got a summer window to sort the squad out and then a whole season. I think he will do well - he might not though.

I think the pundits were being harsh on Moreno last night, yes he fucked up but they were talking as if he just burned down an orphanage.

I didn't say otherwise, or that Klopp would prove to be a failure or do worse than Rodgers over the long term, or even that you were wrong to sack Rodgers.

But your season's been crap (hell we've been fucking awful and even if we lose the FA Cup will still have more to show for it). Cup runs or no cup runs you finished 8th, missed out on European football (largely due to your managers own hubris) and won nothing. It doesn't matter if your name is Jürgen Norbert Klopp, Brendan Rodgers, or Shirley Bassey. All I'm saying is, if you hadn't got rid of him already and Rodgers had delivered this season it would be seen as justification to sack him, not a success.
