England got their tactics right in not bothering playing France.

Hope Gudjohnsen is subbed on. Would be great to see Iceland's best ever player get a nice farewell here.

Iceland should be very proud of what they have accomplished in this tournament, shame it is over for them. They showed great fighting spirit tonight.

Huh. So Portugal can win a game in 90 minutes.

Shame Wales couldn't make it, but been good to see them give it a go nevertheless.

Two good things happened this evening.

1- itv showed the game, no bbc meaning we didn't have to listen to Robbie Savages annoying droning voice

2- Wales lost, meaning we don't need to listen to Robbie savages annoying droning voice in the final!

It's time for France vs. Germany and this game is quite hard to predict.

But, I'm going to fancy France to win after extra time.

That was never a penalty. Ridiculous.

Cannot understand how the referee could award the penalty.

That was like watching Arsenal last season. Özil in full flow with forward players who couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo

First thought was not a penalty, but he does wave out an arm to get leverage, so...

Was a penalty for me too.

Well done to France, have to fancy them Sunday night now. There was just something missing for Germany, Mario Gomez isn't top drawer but they look a lot more balanced with a proper striker in there and somebody to hit in the box.

Definite penalty, no reason to have your hands above your head in the penalty area, poor mistake by Bastian.

Antoine Griezmann looked brilliant in front of goal though and could of had a hatrick. Been the best player of the tournament in my eyes.

Finally put him in my dream team, just for the final. Doesn't help that my entire defence was basically all German though.

Anyone else cringe up a little hearing that Wales are having an open-top bus parade today for winning the Euros being knocked out the competition, not winning the trophy...

And everyone will be like...its the first time they've reached the Semi Finals....

Its the first fucking time we've been embarrassed by Iceland but we're not parading around London ffs!

Nah, Wales clearly overachieved in the Euros and should celebrate getting to the semis.

Seriously? Perhaps Liverpool should celebrate reaching the final of the Europa League, Spurs should celebrate almost winning the pl. Load of rubbish

Maybe if there was a third place play off, and they won, an open top bus parade would have been a bit more understandable.

I think England should do one if we win a penalty shoot out and Scotland should do one if they manage to qualify for a tournament.

Tiered expectations are a central aspect of football. For a country like Wales just qualifying for a major tournament is open top bus parade worthy, going to the semi-final only gives them even more to celebrate. They have over-achieved immensely and the Welsh people deserve an opportunity to show the team their appreciation.

Forget Liverpool and Spurs, Wales going to the semi-final is like a League Two side going to the FA Cup final. I have no doubt in my mind that the likes of Exeter City, Newport County or Mansfield Town would celebrate that, win or lose.

Bradford City, league cup runners up in 2013?
