Our campaign began with a scoreless draw away against Czech Republic which I'm satisfied with as we didn't create too much and a Czech fella missed an empty net which we really should've buried, oh well, at least I got a laugh from that miss.

And it's San Marino up next in Belfast next month and that should really be maximum points (stranger things have happened in football) before facing a daunting trip to face the World Cup holders Germany just three days after and I hope that won't be a mauling.

3-1 loss to Italy, better than I expected. Just hope that we beat Macedonia!

Ignoring the cheeky goal from Berg, we're absolutely shit.

Seamus Coleman scored his first goal last night for us and it couldn't have been more crucial.

We were shite against Georgia for large periods of the game, but the 3 points is definitely what matters most at this stage.

Need a good performance against Moldova on Sunday, 3-4 goals would be nice.

Big test in November against Austria in Vienna.

We've been quite piss so far at home to San Marino, yes we lead but we should be scoring more than one.

4-0 in the end at home to San Marino. Dominated and glad we got further goals.

Kyle Lafferty must leave Norwich though as soon as possible, he needs first team football.

That's a stinker for Scotland, pretty much kills any remote chance they had of qualifying IMO. Need to be taking max points from the weakest 2 teams in the group.

Not sure if it's depressing or not but . . .

. . . San Marino scored more goals tonight than England, Northern Ireland and Scotland ffs.

First 45 minutes today were absolutely perfect. Second half went well up to the ridiculous free kick goal from Forsberg, after that the referees decided to fuck us. How on earth does a FIFA referee miss both an offside and goalkeeper obstruction in the same sequence?

And we're still in desperate need of a striker who can actually finish. Both Guidetti and Kiese Thelin had chances they absolutely should have put away today.

4-0 win tonight at home to Azerbaijan and it's a home game with Norway up next in March iirc.

The Forsberg free kick

Alternative angle

I genuinely cannot grasp the physics of that goal. The path the ball takes is absolutely ridiculous.

A hattrick on your debut is a hattrick on your debut, he's been in pretty handy form for Bremen as well

Our reply was a pic of Ray Parlour grabbing his hat-trick goal against Bremen in the 2000 UEFA Cup semi final, we won 6-2 on agg.

Following a FIFA vote earlier today, the 2026 World Cup is going to be 48 teams, with 16 groups of 3 followed by a knockout round.

This is going to be a bit of a clusterfuck.

0-0 against Wales wasn't a terrible result, but losing Coleman was a serious blow.

He obviously scored a crucial goal against Georgia at home earlier in qualification and he's arguably our best player.

Ireland produced their worst ever performance on the weekend away to Georgia!!

1-0 up after 4 minutes and then completely outplayed by Georgia who looked like they'd Xavi and Iniesta playing in midfield.

Caught the last half hour or so of Ireland v Serbia.

I like Ireland but they really do struggle going forward - lots of effort and endeavour but devoid of quality.

It really doesn't help when our best attacking and creative player is pulled off so we can play hoof ball. The first 25-30 minutes of that game were superb, Wes Hoolahan is a brilliant little footballer, such a pity he's 35 as we've fucking nobody else like him!!

As soon as Ireland scored, it was game over.....they could do that backs to the wall defending all night.
