Your all time favorite players?

To amuse myself whilst doing the washing up I was thinking about who would make up an XI of my all-time favorite players, They don't have to be the best players ever, Just ones you've always had a soft spot for or you get a tinge of excitement whenever they get hold of the ball.

Here's the ones I came up with;

GK - Peter Schmeichel - When I started playing football I always wanted to be in goal, The big Dane was the inspiration for that, fantastic shotstopper who occasionly popped up with a goal at the other end.
RB - Cafu - So composed at the back and could also mix it up further forward.
CB - Olof Mellberg - I always loved Mellberg's take no prisoner approach but he was also an excellent defender who has roughed up cu*t's such as Robbie Savage and Freddie Lljungberg.
CB - Andy Butler - Influential captain in the last few years for Walsall, His commitment and determination always lifts the team.
LB - Roberto Carlos - I never thought he was a fantastic defender but his long range capabilities always made him a threat and fasinating to watch, That free kick against France still baffles me.
RM - David Beckham - His ability to cross and pick out a pass as well as his free kicks endear him to me, That free kick in stoppage time against Greece to qualify England for the World cup was an amazing moment.
CM - Steven Gerrard - His work rate has always been top notch, It seems a shame he will probarly never win the Premiership so he can claim to have won everything at club level.
CM - Thomas Hitzlsperger - Almost the same reasoning as Roberto Carlos, Not the greatest player technically but his long range shots made him thrilling to watch at Villa, Plus he used to live on my road.
LM - Ryan Giggs - His dedication and longevity has made him a Premiership legend, who particuarly in his younger years was thrilling to watch bomb down the left flank.
ST - Alan Shearer - The one and only player I've ever paid to have lettered on a football shirt, His finishing was as deadly as I think I've ever seen, also a fantastic leader.
ST - Leo Messi - Just plain exciting to watch, every time he touches the ball you expect him to do something amazing.

S1 - Jimmy Walker - Has made over 500 appearances for Walsall over two spells, still a top notch shot stopper who loves to feed off the fans who love him just as much.
S2 -Stuart Pearce - So passionate and hard as nails on the pitch, His face after he scored in that Euro96 shootout was one of my Favorite footballing moments.
S3 - Frank Lampard - Same as Gerrard except with last years Champions League win he actually has won everything.
S4 - Emmanuel Ledesma - Although he only played for Walsall on loan he twice saved us from relegation, his Argie skill and pace were so out of place in League One and he tore apart defenses. Now at Middlesbrough.
S5 - Thierry Henry - Genius finisher of the ball, much like Messi he was/is always exciting to watch because he was capable of almost anything.

Know I've forgotten loads, might dig out all my old Match magazine annuals I used to get every year for xmas. I used to love reading those and they always had the top 50 players in the world feature and a page/pitch to make a favourite players team, would be good to look back.

GK - Lehmann: Mad Jens, oh Mad Jens.

DR - Eboue: Got a huge amount of stick at one point, was a good rightback for Arsenal IMO.
DC - Puyol: Fuckin' beast at his prime.
DC - Zanetti: Props to his longevity.
DL - Cole: Was/is a greedy cunt, but what a player he was.

MC - Juninho Pernambucano: Those free kicks, man.
MC - Xabi Alonso: Probably the best distributor of the ball in the world when he was at Liverpool.
MC - Ronaldinho: This goal.

FC - Henry: Nuff said.
FC - C. Ronaldo: Speed, power and height and an intelligent football brain.
FC - Ibra: Much like Ronaldo tbh, if only slightly slower.

Subs:

1 - Dudek: I'm glad to have watched that Champions' League final in its entirety.
2 - Baihakki Khaizan: Been a very solid player in defence for Singapore the past few years, his height is important as well, considering his shorter defensive partner.
3 - Kaka: Still brilliant, despite his lack of playing time.
4 - Fabregas: His injury problems really cost us dear all too frequently, but when he was fit, he was brilliant as well.
5 - Van Persie: Yeah, fuck him.
