London City FC - November 2025

The penultimate month of the calendar year and we were still searching for form this season to really kickstart it. There was no chance we would be challenging for the playoffs this season, like we almost did last season. However we can still maintain a positive, strong finish this season if we can kick our selves into gear. We had action in the FA Cup, Checkatrar Trophy and league again this year.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/63qesRxX9Q26tQrZ2fdWgj4wn9SUQzxcWHy95VrX.png

Well, its the most points we've picked up this season for a month of fixtures, as we picked up eight points from a possible fifteen as we played five league games. We beat Rochdale to kick off November, two nil, Browne and Green netting. Fellow League Two side Boston United knocked us out the FA Cup First Round, losing out two nil. Our final game of the Checkatrade Trophy for the season saw us lose out again, Southend beating us two one as we went three games, three defeats in the competition this year. Back to back league wins for the first time this season as we beat Notts Co at home, Ashby and Heges netting, we then traveled to Barrow and drew three a piece, Brown and Shokunbi netting in the final ten minutes to seal a point. Narrowly lost out a seven goal thriller against AFC Wimbledon, four three before drawing one a piece with Wycombe to end the month.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/bpL3L7P9vFSjK2PAmdUTjf7rApXgjBJd3n6xeKg1.png

Despite this being the best month we've had this season, we've still dropped another place in the league as we now slump to twentieth after nineteen matches. We've got just twenty two points on the board and are now just seven points clear of the drop zone so far this season. We are only nine points away from the playoffs at the other end of the table so a really good month and we'd be there or there abouts again.

Into the festivities of December, 2025 is being seen out and we're really struggling for any form at the moment. there is nothing consistent with us this season and its potentially looking like our first ever season where we'll go backwards in league position in nine years. Out of all the cup competitions now we only have league football to focus on, maybe that'll begin to help us.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/hixiD7JYBCD84dFZ5WFfAeHOB2Fq9bry9Y4FpM5S.png

Another month that started brightly but withered away and saw us finish a third or fourth month on the bounce with two defeats. A trip to Eastleigh saw us draw one all, thanks to Hedges netting twenty minutes from time. A second away game saw us go to Northampton seven days later, Hedges netted a brace here to see us take all three points. But back home we lost twice, one nil to Port Vale and three nil against Ebbsfleet.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/FYBaupSn0UqMl0trnuQdaCuwbPSO2kFzv4A2XKwp.png

Back up to nineteenth, ten points off the playoffs as we head into 2026 but only six points outside the relegation spot now as Ebbsfleet recently beat us to cut the lead from nine points. We're in trouble, thats for sure, for once in January I'll need to bring in some new faces and really try and strengthen this squad.

I must say I have enjoyed reading this story. I'm working through my first season with AFC Wimbledon...not sure about doing a career story about it yet, but reading these always gets me in the mood. By the way, do you do your own kits?

It is indeed @Shedender but we'll continue to battle this season!

Thanks @Samirah always nice to find new followers of the story! Good luck with AFC Wimbledon! Yes, I make all the kits myself each season, I like to switch them up a bit.

It is indeed @paul_13 but we'll continue to fight!

Happy New Year, it can't be much worse than the last couple of months surely. We go into the new year really struggling near the bottom end of the Sky Bet League Two. We've got five months of football to go for this season and need to pick up some serious form. In the end i didn't sign anyone in January, but a small tactical change could see a return of our good form last season.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/LAguVxuSLSEG0GKEwJ9NBtiN46l6xhdUqoZObn2e.png

And there it was! What a way to kick off the new calendar year and hopefully a return to our best. An unbeaten month in January, one draw and then four wins on the bounce which is the first time we've done this in ages! A trip to Mansfield kicked off the New Year, Ashby netting in the first half but Mansfield leveled second half to steal a point. We then welcomed Barnet for our first home game of 2026 and battered them four one. Ashby netted twice with Cheema and Hickford also on target both in the second half. A trip to Bradford City saw us narrowly edge them out, three two. Isaac netting in the first half Pooni and Hedges also netting for us in the second half. A narrow one nil win over former parent club Burton thanks to Ashby netting after thirty one minutes. Finally ending the month beating struggling Accrington two one Hedges and Ashby netting, Ashby with his fifth goal in as many games this month.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/1WV9jJflnz6QEEomAnamelfEm958rFiRAzYtOG81.png

Twenty eight league games now played and we're finally moving up the table. We move up to thirteenth and up to thirty nine points for the season, a huge improvement this month has helped us out all ends! We're now just five points off the playoffs and reeling them in, if we can keep this up for a couple months we'll be there or thereabouts. A long way to go though, four months of football still.

Our form had suddenly taken a turn for the better with us going unbeaten in January and shooting up the league table. But now the question was could we maintain this kind of form and push on for a top half finish. Every season so far we've had a better year, beating our previous league position, I think its unlikely we can do it this season but we've had a good run so far with four months to go.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/BkOsXUmTxEG3gOgLba6LR1eeNLvvBR1aPcCCklII.png

Not quite another unbeaten month but our form is staying throughout February for sure. We welcomed by beloved Yeovil Town at the start of February and beat them two one, thankfully Hedges is continuing some form with a superb brace here. A trip to Grimsby ended all square, Pooni with our goal before drawing two a piece with playoff chasing Luton. Dymond and Cheema with our goals here. Our first defeat in two months and this calendar year saw Hartlepool come to us and win three one. Browne had initially given us the lead. But we ended the month wel, beating Cambridge three one, it was one all at the break, an own goal for us. But late goals from Hedges and Pooni ensured we finished February strongly.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/zPkLogPUIbp83SiVq9i4uG7KThKPeiymX5l6qtsW.png

And now suddenly things are looking extremely rosey for us once again. We're thirteenth in the lead and sit just four points off Luton in the final playoff spot. I'm still wondering if we are good enough for the playoffs or even deserve it. But we'll see what happens, we're not ready for League One football, barely coped with League Two football kicking off the month. But we must survive this season and its looking more and more likely.

London City FC - March 2026

Into March and following back to back months of solid form, we really began to believe what could be this season. The good turn of form has fired us just outside the top half of the table and raining in on those playoff places, the gap had been closed, it was now whether we could fully cut it and catch them. We also had another poor youth intake as well as hitting another milestone.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/vTziwWSYtQxScSD9Al67hdKEaNyJVxQpvZ2ZYK7C.png

For a moment I thought we may of uncovered a gem in David Scott when I saw his potential. But then I looked at his stats and yeah, he won't be making it in this league or any league higher. The usual. We need to improve our youth and training facilities to try and improve our intake but our money is tight.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/4mZ8Q1b3wMSs5uhZeYlQdn2BUyUxQi0zAs2To9ZY.png

The second game of March saw me hit a massive milestone, I'm now five hundred games into my tenure here at London City FC and management. Along the way I've picked up two FA Trophies, the Vanarama National League South title, the Vanarama National League title as well as winning Vanarama National League South Manager of the Season and National League Manager of the year twice.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/1eP0YNAc9zIJd2bEqPxcZs89n7G0VQXYV9geBzCb.png

Our form continues to remain strong with another four wins from six matches including one loss and one draw. Welcoming Stockport at the start of the month we won four two to put more pressure on them, it looks like second season syndrome has hit them big time as we hit four. Bridge with one and Hedges with the remaining three. A trip to Crawley saw Pooni net a brace either side of Crawleys goal, his second two minutes from time to seal the win. We recorded four wins on the bounce when we welcomed Boston United and beat them two one with Browne and Green netting. A trip to promotion chasing Southend saw us lose three one expectedly before drawing nil nil at home with Rochdale. Ending the month with a trip to struggling Notts Co and beating them three one as Brown and Pooni (x2) were on target for us.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Pm1ZxvKWvkoUR3EKNyYlRt0jjCwIikaE0Z7VuVez.png

For the first time ever I think, we're in a playoff place in the Sky Bet League Two! The turn around we've seen since January has been amazing and fired us from relegation fear to playoff contenders. We're narrowly in the playoffs on goal difference at the moment and now only six points off the automatic promotion spots. It could be an amazing season yet.

The penultimate month of the football season is here and once again we're pressing our good form right to the end of the season. Going into the month we had seven league games remaining and would face five of them throughout April. A continued run of good form could see us press the automatic promotion spots or hopefully at least keep our playoff hopes alive which seemed dead come the end of the calendar year. There was also some exciting news to end the month.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/8NOZ6M4qkp54QAzO8SwBsjuNnW2LbG8TTdlvQSGs.png

Five matches throughout April, three wins and two defeats and that'll do me indeed. Welcoming Barrow we beat them narrowly, winning one nil with Green converting a spot kick. A trip to fellow playoff hopefuls AFC Wimbledon saw us lose two nil. Back to back one nil wins were recorded with us welcoming Mansfield, Hedges netting after thirteen minutes and Pooni netting after seventy four against Ebbsfleet. The month ended with us welcoming league champions Wycombe and losing out two one, Green netting out only goal.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Tv6uP3pShGUxeeIgDoWpn1JpxtWT91ZuZKakKbrA.png

We remain seventh in the Sky Bet League Two with just two league games remaining this season. That'll see us travel to second place Port Vale and then welcome twelfth place Eastleigh. We need to try and win one of those games in my opinion if we are going to stay in the playoffs. However I don't see us going up even through those playoffs, we're simply not ready.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/PXNiY6MKLoQFWt12C8zzsC2YQFJTTj5Rww63uea2.png

Finally we end the month with some potentially breaking news. The club are in takeover talks according to a report from sky sports. Scott Bailey wants to takeover full control of the club and would wipe the clubs debts which would be fantastic for us going forward. A transfer embargo has been placed over us as the deal happens.

Here we go then, one month left of competitive football and that was it. We either had two two games left this season, four if we managed to get to the Playoff Semi Finals and up to five if we could hit the Playoff Finals. But first we had to focus solely on the last two league games of the season, my views were we had to win one to secure a spot in the Playoffs.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/VNybXmxmICIXVBidv1HgtF1279a51VFCGpnc7bTA.png

We did what I thought we'd have to do, win one of our final two league games. A defeat against second place Port Vale saw us narrowly lose out in a five goal thriller. We had led the game through Ashby and were level at two a piece, unfortunately falling just short of a point. However finished the league season with a three two win, Browne netting before Hedges struck twice, a great time to refind the net for him. But was this enough...

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/5oD7Gk3uIzuqInaknSVwiPZlaBQggoChSXCN5qq7.png

It was indeed enough as we finished sixth in the Sky Bet League Two after forty six matches. Amazingly we finished just three points off an automatic promotion spot and finished with a zero goal difference come the end. Also just a point inside the playoffs. The turn around from the end of December has been amazing and now we have two, maybe three games to try and earn a shock promotion to the third tier of English football. We'd now go head to head with AFC Wimbledon over two legs in the Semi Finals whilst Grimsby will face Luton.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/hpaMsEEMqa9DNGgmaR0LE76k8vICeJMAZVd4tLIf.png

What a performance from 'The City' absolutely superb from the boys! We bossed possession and held strong at the back especially in the first forty five. First half we were amazing, Booth netted after twenty minutes, Ashby after twenty nine and Booth again after thirty five minutes saw us three nil up at the break. Second half it looked like we were going to capitulate conceding twice with twenty minutes still to play. We bounced back through Hedges with his twenty eight goal of the season and it could be an important one, onto the second leg we march

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Z3xS5kZXp1u451IWpvNxrLanW0q0W1QEhWtUcQJn.png

An even second leg here, we were just lucky the home side, AFC Wimbledon couldn't hit the target more often with their nineteen shots. We trailed after ten minutes, however with twenty nine minutes on the clock Hedges and Ashby had both struck to see us lead two one. AFC Wimbledon continued to fight back and were just unfortunate, Simmonds netted for the host in the final minute, but we held on to a draw and a six four win on aggregate.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/SouX8dmRqigrWe8yVTeEDYsZtLa4Amg4z7cwpiy6.png

Sky Bet League Two Playoff Final, we blew our chances, with the better share of possession, even shots but just unfortunate this time. Grimsby blew us away and were far superior infront of goal here against us. Graham game Grimsby the host after the first minute, Woods then netted a twelve minute brace and by the twenty ninth minute, Olowu had put Grimsby four nil up. In trouble we went more attacking, eventually paid off when Browne netted with four minutes to play, but we were short here come full time, another season here awaited us. Probably for the best.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/UWwelaSpjlf2s1PgaH23IvmpUV309bitjSfLUqj3.png

A message from the new board, thats correct, we've had a takeover and Scott Bailey has become our new chairman. Delightfully he has cleared the debt by taking out a loan and creating a new debt for the club. However we now have a black bank balance and the future is beginning to look a little brighter here at London City FC.

Just a quick look on how the club have come so far forward over the last ten years having completed season ten. London City FC were founded in 2016, we're now at the end of season 2026 and its been a very fun, progressive rollercoaster ride to date. And I'm sure there are plenty of highs and lows left to come.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/xffnrfKeQLwXE8A1t7PyapusA4SAdHY5lZBvYSpk.png

Here are the 'club information screens' ten years apart. We've gone from being 'Semi Professional' to 'Professional' and only recently took that step two years ago. The club has also changed from 'Local' to 'Regional' reputation as it shows our growth over the years. Our estimated value has gone up from twenty two thousand pounds to two million pounds, we do have a one point four million pounds debt though. A new stadium with a five and a half thousand pound capacity, two thousand two hundred and fifty seats. And our last change is our training facilities moved up to 'basic'.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/MkaCjIkRI8wPjpS2UDYcJCWnTqz6kuoOdNgG5Wfb.png

As you can see, every year we have progressed forward with our league position each and every year and thats without this seasons mark on the board. You can see the trophy cabinet beginning to grow annoyingly the 'Spartan South' trophy was already with the club, I thought I had cleared every trophy. But since being here I've added two FA Trophies along with the Vanarama National League South, and National League titles to a growing trophy cabinet.

Career History:
2016/2017: Vanarama National League South - 19th (49pts), FA Trophy - 1st Round

London City FC - Pre Season Round Up 2026

Another summer flys by us, a quick break for myself and the players alike and then back to the drawing board and back to the hard work and graft of trying to progress again this season. It'd be our first summer under our new owner and that'd be important. He obviously doesn't know me like the previous board did so its important to get him on my side as early as possible.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/x8KneAplLeioBpNezwMtZEPcNO9Bw5ToVLP3PPOy.png

Great news for us, our training facilities are being upgraded over the next couple of months. I tried to get the youth facilities upgraded as well but the finances just weren't there. We have also been denied a senior club which means I've struggled to find any decent loan players this summer.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/stHOzYdDv1aQZIdTnlxc0sTPDu3BimQZH7Bxu0k1.png

But I did have one hundred and fifty thousand pounds to spend this summer and well, I spent all of it bringing in no less than ten new faces, all of which are better upgrades than the players we currently have at the squad and should provide real competition for places this year. Going out the door are a few big names, former number one and two goalkeepers Agahyere and Chapman, as well as Gascoigne, the only player to be with the club since the start of the career. Two bigger strikers leave as well in Pooni and leading club scorer Hassall has also departed.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/RJlN7boaGNz2irx4Ie9JYcBsEo6cw3snWnjuxGpm.png

That leaves our squad looking something like this for the season ahead. Two strong goalkeepers who will both get plenty of match time and compete with each other for that number one jersey this season and for many more seasons with any luck. A strengthened back line which we usually play just three centre backs which will be hotly contested. I've really tried to sure up our midfield this year and up top we have a couple new faces who should make the impact for us.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/nzYk4jgWwx4Hmw5G4Su4KPB9fk9ZddiQ97ANAWTn.png

And then a busy summer on the pitch commenced. After last year where we struggled to get going all season I decided to play out a bigger batch of friendlies this year around to hopefully allow the team to gel over the summer and produce something as soon as the league season begins. Now its time to turn ourselves to the competitive side of things this year.

Following a busy, money spending, football playing summer, it was time to head back to the competitive action and kick off season eleven here at London City FC and our third season here in the Sky Bet League Two and as a professional football club. We had six games in the league this month as well as facing the opening round of the EFL Cup, last year we reached the second round of this competition but could we make that fate again.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/bv4L1vGBYJC1LmCmy5HnmfFmi4iOksdNSS03WNLh.png

What!? Look at that for a start to the season, six green dots from seven games this month, six wins from six in the league. A trip to Cambridge kicked off the season and saw debutant Borukov net a superb hatrick, Wilkin also finding the target on his first start. Championship side MK Dons knocked us out the EFL Cup in the First Round, beating us comfortably five two. Tighe and Borukov netting for us. Back to league action we welcomed Mansfield and beat them two one as Whiteman netted a spot kick and Borukov netted the winner, thirty one minutes from time. Back on the road a trip to Barnet saw us win three one, Borukov netting twice, his first after just three minutes and Shaw also on target. Returning home we welcomed Maidstone who we hold a good record over, and beat them four nil, keeping our first clean sheet of the season which would see us keep three on the bounce. Shaw struck twice, one in each half whilst Vernon netted his first club goal and Tighe netted three minutes from time. Stockport managed to survive last season in the end but lost out to us here, Vernon netting after sixty five minutes, his second goal in as many games before we ended the month welcoming Gilingham and winning three nil. Shaw struck another two, taking his tally to five goals this season and Wilking struck another spot kick.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/B9TlrqrI1xUVCt8cMvMjJJdEaqAPhc7FRt2tlvsz.png

Unfortunately Borukov, who had netted seven goals in his opening four games for the club, picked up a serious injury during the Barnet game which will see him ruled out for two months. It appears for now Shaw and Vernon are stepping up to the plate to provide our goals.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/laYqZxXfKJvbOVIgPoOZYRNiYKH5nPZHNRUt66bU.png

Played six, won six, scored seventeen, conceded two and thats our stats to kickstart the season. An early eighteen points and an unbeaten run, also opening up a four point gap already this season. A couple more months like this and we can begin to dream of League One football next season. But there is a long way to go and we can't get carried away just yet.

After a tremendous start to the league with six wins from a possible six we sailed into September at the top of the table and four points clear form the chasing pack in the Sky Bet League Two. Five more league games were on the agenda throughout September and we'd begin our Checkatrade Trophy adventure, in which we struggle to get through the group stage as always.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/ttyZ3PS0zJC3NGNehOmK9dXP83BdEp9V7bPmfeKd.png

Not quite full of green dots, but it was a harder month for us on paper September. But we only lost once and again that was in the Checkatrade trophy. A trip to Stevenage would begin the month with a seventh win in a row as we saw them off, taking home all three points in the three one victory, Wilkin netting twice after Tighe' opener. A penalty defeat against Wycombe in the first group game of the Checkatrade trophy, they won League Two last season, we came back from two down, Green netting two penalties before losing four two in the shootout, Green missed one of those! Three draws were then recorded on the bounce, AFC Wimbledon and us saw out an eight goal thriller, we had led three nil through Shaw (x2) and Tighe and led four two, but succumbed to a four all draw come full time. A trip to Luton saw us draw two a piece after Grivosti gave us the lead. It was the same scoreline against Hartlepool as Ashby netted to bring us back from one down. And we ended the month with a trip to Notts Co and beat them two nil, Shaw and Bridge netting.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/xV18k3cs3vUi1imI7F8sOMx8dotyz8FTOdvRc3H2.png

Still top of the league, still four points clear this season and still unbeaten. Its AFC Wimbledon who are keeping track with us this season, also unbeaten but behind by four points in second place. Mansfield and Gillingham are only a further point behind each and we've already played them so its looking good early on for us.

Currently four points clear as we head into October, we've been four points clear over the last two months now. We're eleven games in going into October and now face another five league games as well as a second Checkatrade trophy game. However we're facing a youth Chelsea side who are likely to beat us comfortably. Could we continue our strong league form.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/BBvNHewn3RK3jwJEPO1ZBbcrp5h2zrAlts7ODDxt.png

Continuing our good form, a couple league defeats have finally slipped into our results but we can't complain, it was coming. Welcoming Boston United we were pleased to have Borukov back from injury as he popped up six minutes from time to secure the win. Chelsea Under 23s beat us three one, Tighe with our goal and this then saw us lose our first league game this season, former parent club Burton beat us one nil. It was the same scoreline, but in our favor when we beat Ebbsfleet one nil, Borukov netting again. We narrowly lost out against Bradford City two one, after Hedges gave us the lead before beating struggling Yeovil Town three one as Hedges, Borukov and Whieman (pen) secured the comfortable win to end October.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/mcyQqgsqGDKDyc6dDaDEXErB1k3VmTbBEEraTZ8j.png

Sixteen games played, thirty games still to play but we're still top of the table however our lead has been cut to just three points now. AFC Wimbledon and Gillingham are both hot on our heels and occupy the two other automatic promotion spots. We're only eleven points inside the playoffs at the moment however its a very comfortable gap at this moment in time. Could it be third time lucky in League Two.

Here comes the penultimate month of whats been a very good calendar year. Our form picked up brilliantly from January onwards to see us fly up the table and finish sixth and then miss out on promotion in the Playoff Final, its also seen us start this season brightly. FA Cup, Checkatrade and league action once again this month.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/i0Y7Huc3AGljop2wqlVD2mwaX3uGfBkcIXY2Q4nV.png

Well, we're out of every cup competition going again this year before we even reach December. We crashed out the FA Cup in the First Round as League One side Walsall beat us three nil. We picked up a win via penalties against Eastleigh in the Checkatrade trophy following a goaless draw, but were already out the competition. Four league games then followed to conclude the month, beating Exeter away two one and FC Halifax at home three nil. A trip to struggling bottom side Crawley saw us miss our chance to win, drawing one all before ending the month with a defeat, losing two nil against Eastleigh.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/00WxEojhnSxUcUWeR2QEwTlQUluulm3q0yYwzwoH.png

Its still tight at the top as we're unable to move away from Gillingham who are now just two points behind us and AFC Wimbledon in third just three points behind still. The festive month of December will be short but if we can hold our own we could go into the New Year on top of the pile and aiming for that promotion.

Into December and with one aim now, go into the New Year on the top of the Sky Bet League Two and continue to lead this title race. We've been top since day one of the season and heading into the last four games of the calendar year I'm hoping we can see it through now. I'm expecting a strong month with us facing 'weaker' side this month.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/lb12ktE2USwgqTIrrZ55YKZPncyf2as3tP8MPLuD.png

Expected a strong month and that certainly was the case as we played four games and won four to end 2026. Our only away game in December saw us go to Rochdale and win one nil, winger Tighe netting after sixty six minutes. We then ended the calendar year with three home games and two more clean sheets. Cambridge visited us and went home losing two nil, Ashby and Shaw netting for us before we beat Scunthorpe three two. Ending the year with a two nil win against Accrington and our third clean sheet in four games.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/QYe6DWv0x2lPOKrWQfDBhpzLlYIOdDUVK0P3s0Lu.png

Despite winning all four of our matches in December we're still only four poitns clear as Gillingham continue to match us stride for stride each month. With twenty two games to go this season its looking likely at this stage that we'll be in the playoffs at least as we sit fifteen points inside them. Its also brilliant to see we've got the best goal difference in the league for once and this time by a country mile. Top at Christmas, Top at New Year, Top at the end of the season? A long way to go!

Welcome to the year 2027 and a Happy New Year, well I was hoping it would be. Whilst we didn't win a trophy during 2026, it was probably our best calendar year form wise at least as we battered opponents to reach the playoff finals and lose out and now sit top of the Sky Bet league Two. January had five league games waiting for us to try and see if we could continue our fine form of late and march ever closer to a spot in League One next season.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/KhslgZ6GSyeUcYSQyz00ZA3W7GVJVu15UkjIFPWh.png

A loss to start and end the month of January but three wins in between those two defeats sees us keeping good form indeed. Mansfield welcomed us and gave us a sour start to 2027 as we lost out two nil. Returning home we beat Barnet four two, Tighe, Grivosti and Green (x2) on the scoresheet for us. It was a three two win against struggling Maidstone with Borukov, Green and Tighe netting and Tighe made it three in three as he netted the only goal against Stockport in our one nil home win. But promotion chasing Gillingham spoiled the run as they beat us two one, after Borukov sent us one nil up.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/EShurkj26WdxLVpy922YxXkkIfwZTsuFdRi01IIJ.png

We remain top of the table at the end of January with four months of competitive football left to play and seventeen matches left on the board for us this season. Gillingham close the gap after beating us on their soil and sees them just a single point behind now, however then the gap opens to ten further points for Burton in third. We're now nineteen points inside the playoffs, surely I can start dreaming of that top seven finish at least this season!

London City FC - February 2027

With the gap at the top now narrowing to a single point going into February, it was important we kept our nerve and continued battling to earn three points in as many games as we could. We had five matches throughout February and needed to remain on top at this stage of the season if we were to begin to look towards lifting that trophy come the end of the season.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/ynIJFUNBmANjgK6lH8BUKHxNxp78RKEPb5PHNQDq.png

The defeats are beginning to slip into our results list a bit more frequently as of late but its against tough teams who are up here with us, so perhaps expected. We started February at home, welcoming Stevenage and beating them three one with ease, goals from Grivosti, Borukov and Whiteman making the difference for us. Back to back defeats against AFC Wimbledon and Luton without us scoring worried me a little bit, and three games without a win came as we traveled to Hartlepool and drew one a piece, Tighe with our goal. However we ended the month with a two nil home victory over Notts Co as both Smith and Ashby netted second half goals for us.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/2A0HJvUyuQ47u5zCTML0DDxHovz5ykayjCG0rswy.png

But despite going three games without a win and two straight defeats in that run, we've managed to re open our gap at the top of the table, moving four points clear of Gillingham once again in this exciting title race. We're now a massive thirteen points inside the top three so its looking likely we'll feature in League One next season, however it'd be much better to go up with the title having been top all season! Three months to go!

Congrats on continuing great form! In my first season with AFC Wimbledon I just managed to win the League One title with three games left, so I know how those little dips in form can be a bit tense.

Anyways, always like to see updates.

Two and a half months of competitive football left this season and we're still top of the pile having reopened our four point lead at the top of the table come the end of February. However with us still to play twelve league games a lot could change and I'm sure it will over the next couple months. We had six of those remaining twelve months in March, would our form last the month...

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/6pZYsScBwmdTKxRfhlaHPhYqS7Uhg1Q55QEzS4GX.png

Our form is definitely beginning to slow up as we slipped to three draws, one defeat and just the two wins throughout March but its okay at the moment. A one all draw started the month as Wilkin struck in the second half to save a point against Boston United. We returned home and beat former parent club Burton Albion one nil through Shaw before another one all draw on the road, this time against Ebbsfleet after Borukov gave us the lead. It was back to back draws and three from our last four games as we drew two al against Bradford City, Chris Smith netting the equaliser eight minutes from time. Borukov stepped up his game against Yeovil Town to fire in a hatrick, his second and third goals just a minute apart as we narrowly beat them three two before ending the month against another side from the South West, Exeter who beat us at our home, four nil. A poor way to end the month.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/lByvaiMElIGf43B300iTh9djPq03S5hEULdVLiGx.png

Burton Albion have shot up the table and are now sitting second, they become our latest challengers as they jump Gillingham and sit behind us by just three points, worse news is they now have a better goal difference than us so one loss by us and a win by them and they'll go top. That four nil defeat against Exeter could really cost us. Its now six points to third place Gillingham and eleven to Luton in fourth with six games to go, promotion is almost secured, a playoff spot is secured as a minimum now for the end of the season.

We're almost there, the season is almost over and we're almost promoted, but not quite there yet, we're still playing. Six games left this season and it would see us play four of those six remaining games in April, leaving us two games to end the season in May. With a minimum of a playoff spot secured, the season had been a success but it could get better yet with promotion and a league title in our sights.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/zmneBvhqvb5KhRg4zzhAoKIQPC9G3KnLzZ3pgVl7.png

Two wins and two defeats, there wasn't many goals either for the fans to see over April with us seeing just six goals over the four matches. A trip to FC Halifax saw us win one nil through Borukov before our only home game of April welcomed Crawley and losing to the struggling side. Traveling to Eastleigh we got back to winning ways, Smith netting after four minutes saw us win one nil once again. And the month went on to end with a two one defeat against Accrington. Borukov originally gave us the lead but we blew it, finishing with ten men.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/LbsxKxTMETDThb8a8gdw5DZmZqPEnoDyd5VQHkRE.png

We are promoted! The league title isn't secured yet, we still lead Burton Albion by just three points, however having promotion on our belts now lets us look forward to another new chapter in the story as we were going up again. Burton Albion, our former parent club, are keeping up with us just three points behind and a better goal difference with just two games left this season. We will either finish first and take the league title or second and win promotion automatically, I know which one I'd rather right now!

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/LuT2ecyVntkvs0fyEeTgYqpG7hTmeemZcSLFo5pa.png

Even better news sees us face two 'easy' games to end the season, well, they're penned as easy on paper. We'll welcome Rochdale on the 1st May 2027, they're currently twenty third in the league however will still be fighting for safety so it won't be a walkover thats for sure. We do hold the better head to head record over them though, with three wins from six head to heads, drawing two and losing one. Our last game of the season on the 8th May 2027 sees us travel to twentieth place Scunthorpe who we've only met once and beat them three two, the titles ours to lose.

Two league games left this season, two league games left in the Sky Bet League Two as promotion was already secured for us last month. Our journey left us with a home game against twenty third place Rochdale who are fighting to stay up this season and a trip to twentieth place Scunthorpe who are only just outside the relegation zone. Two sides fighting to beat the drop, we're fighting for the top spot, going into these last two games just three points clear of Burton, could we do the business our end. Four points would see us crowned as champions.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/RAn1TyXVjJ3GraCzCGONlJhMkGTSYop5PHfGvb3G.png

Rochdale absolutely battered our goal with shots, in fact, they managed nineteen in the end, we were just lucky they only hit the target with five but we still succumbed to a late defeat. Gomes gave Rochdale the lead four minutes before the break. With eighteen minutes remaining Wilkin had pulled us level before Sutton picked up his second yellow card in six minutes and was dismissed. We finished the game with ten men and lost five minutes from time as Edwards converted a late spot kick, a lifeline for Rochdales survival hopes.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/hYNRiJ7rgsReJdI7dgdXfqXN7hEHc3uRpWc0pFDn.png

Its as if the team didn't want to win the league, just a point would of won us the league here and we lost! We had the majority of shots here but couldn't hold on to our early lead we built up. Borukov netted after twenty three minutes to see us ahead. However two goals in the final half hour for Scunthorpe as Brown and Murray netted saw the host grab a two one win, but what did that mean for the league title.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/B4mnU5Et1DIxQeV5CWQ7gLRfhpLvLzNy3dMlhGlQ.png

Champions! Despite picking up just picking up just two wins in our last seven games, along with five defeats, we've managed to hold on to the top spot of the Sky Bet League Two and are crowned as champions at the end of the season. One more win would see us break our club record of most points in a single season and most wins in a single season. But that doesn't matter. Luton surprisingly closed the gap and moved to second on the final day whilst Burton finished third on goal difference and the pair will join us League One next season. Mansfield will also join us as they went on and won promotion via the playoffs.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/FvHsVbCe56IyXn3tee6DRzaYcfFgQj7Wr5wmtyWC.png

Some may say our form towards the end of the season didn't warrant the league title, but just look at this, from matchday result one to the result on matchday forty six, we were top. Not once did another side take the top spot over us this season on any weekend of the season. Also look at the superb rise of Luton who ere down in twenty third after the second and third game of the season, at the halfway stage they were around tenth. But they went on to finish second as Burton blew their chances late on in the season.

Some good news to end the season, with my contract coming to an end this summer the board, who were new in charge last summer, have offered me a new deal and that has seen me sign a two year extension, all being well I'll be here till the earliest of 2029 but obviously I'll be looking to stay here until the end of the career. I was also named Sky Bet League Two manager of the year come the end of the season.

So much for two 'easy' games @Dan but massive congratulations nonetheless on getting to League One.

Having never ended the season and brought you the player stats, nor delved into the tactics I am using, I figured now, at the end of season eleven, I'd give you an insight into how the players performed over the last season and those tactics I've used over the last eleven seasons. Not a long, in depth post, but just so its on the thread and there for people to see. I'm by no means a tactician, thats for sure, I just try and find something that works and stick with it!

First off, the players stats for the season, and despite having such a large squad going into the season, most of the players still got plenty of game time this year. Infact, there were only two players who didn't feature at all this year and it was Marcus Browne and Rui Da Costa, both who have been with us since our Vanarama National League days and simply didn't make the cut. Both keepers had their fair share of appearances. Tom Grivosti and Connor Tighe were our joint highest average rating with Borukov our leading goalscorer netting twenty one goals in thirty six starts.

Our home tactic is very attacking as I feel we're more comfortable on home soil and you can see the instructions we use, just taking our time a bit more in the build up and then letting the ball do the work.

Away from home we're a lot more structured, playing counter attacking football with four at the back to try and hold a little bit firmer and not concede quite as many goals on the road, however that doesn't always work of course.

** I also use a basic 4-4-2 at times when I feel I just need to switch it up at home or away before the match to stop the opponents reading our game plan.
