This is potentially going to be our final career for Football Manager 2017 and we've both agreed to do something different. I've downloaded the "European Leagues" database that's available through Steam and our plans is to win the top 'league' with as many clubs as possible. You can tell by the badge that we've agreed to begin at Borussia Dortmund since both of us have soft spots at the Yellow Wall. They're predicted to finish down in fifteenth in the Platinum League.
You can see that the Platinum League has twenty clubs from all over Europe including five from England and the three Spanish giants, the best club in Ukraine and Bayern Munich as well just to name ten clubs from the twenty. Porto and Benfica are also both there but surprisingly Sporting are not. Real Madrid are favourites to win the league with Barcelona predicted to finish second, @Dan will soon find out for himself but Liverpool's predicted to finish in a lowly tenth but two positions higher than Manchester United.
Who is the manager?
It's Brazilian legend Rivaldo and it's something we both agreed on because he's been a 'journeyman' throughout most of his career, something we intend to be as well. We've agreed to max out the coaching badges and past playing experience to make it 'easier' to get future jobs, something we don't regularly do as both of us usually start with no coaching badges and the worst past playing experience.
We will both be playing three months each.

So the Platinum League campaign began with a home fixture against Spaniard's Atletico Madrid as we recorded a hard fought 2-1 success at Signal Iduna Park as Raphael Guerrero and Christian Pulisic netted.

Next up was a trip to English side Arsenal, Dortmund were dominated and deservedly lost 3-0. Not a single shot on target for the Germans which was disappointing.
Shedender
Should've won but did not, played out a scoreless draw at home to Juventus.
Shedender
It's now three league wins without a win, and a goal as a Zlatan winner at Old Trafford saw Manchester United run out one nil victors in a dull game.
Shedender
Oh deary me. This is proving to be tougher than I expected, that or I'm still dreadful at this Football Management lark. Next up was a trip to San Siro to face AC Milan who dominated us, won two nil and scored both goals inside the opening twenty one minutes. Four games without a win, and a goal.
Shedender
Wow, a win. We left it late as a brace from Aubameyang sealed victory against Shakhtar but annoying we failed to keep a clean sheet but I'm just glad we won for the second time this season.
Shedender
New month, same old rubbish. Barcelona easily win three one. Our goal came from a centre back.
Shedender
And now we're out of the Ruby Cup as 'second tier' side Fiorentina came from behind to win by two goals to one after extra time.
Shedender
Embarrassing. Enough said, a new low in our short management game and confidence has surely died.
Shedender
An Andre Schurrle goal, sixteen minutes from time rescued a point against a Porto side who are just as rubbish as ourselves.
Shedender
Gonzalo Castro scored after three minutes to get us off to a great start at home to PSG, but that was that as the French side bagged three second half goals as Dortmund continue their miserable campaign.
Shedender
And here's the league table after my three months have come to an end, it looks quite depressing as @Dan takes charge with a club, low on confidence and a useless Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who has scored just two goals in eight games. I don't know what has went wrong, I've changed the formation twice to try and get more wins but it simply hasn't worked.

Dan
Well, no problems with Aubameyang or Dortmund here, a change of tactic, to our very own @VP.'s invincible tactic has seen us thump Tottenham here with a dominant display. A strong four nil win with Aubameyang netting twice, a Lemela own goal and one for Weigl late on secure the rout, Onwards and upwards!
Dan
Two wins from two for my stint as we jump Roma and they move into the relegation zone. The early sending off for Roma, De Rossi after they went one down through Kagawa prevented any kind of comeback, shame we couldn't hit a few more past them here.
Dan
Three from three, Manchester City are surprinsingly struggling in this league and now also move into the relegation zone as we beat them four one with ease. Another game we dominated the stats on. Another brace for Aubameyang, the first after ten minutes before Otamendi put the ball in his own net to double our lead before half time. There was then three goals in seven minutes, Aubameyang hitting his second before Sane pulled one back for City. Gotze putting the game beyond doubt.

Please no riots just yet over Shedenders performances @DNZY hes trying!
A somewhat nervy affair over a Benfica side who are above expectations admittedly this season. We almost blew a three nil lead after Aubameyang, Gotze and Kagawa fired us close to victory. Two goals in the final nineteen minutes from the host tried to peg us back.
Dan
Into November and it'd look like we're continuing the form of October where we won four from four. Another demolishing, this time at home against Inter Milan. Another brace for Aubameyang as he takes his tally to nine goals from fourteen games this season. Piszczek and Weigl rounded up the scoring as all four goals came in the first forty five.
Dan
First time I've dropped points since taking charge of the side and its typical its come against my beloved Liverpool. We played okay to be honest, but didn't take the chances we created and that left us ruing them, seeing Liverpool thump us five two as Firmino picked up four.
VP.
Dan
English teams definitely seem to get the better of us as we now lose to Chelsea in a narrow three two defeat. Aubameyang had given us a fourteenth minute lead however two goals in three minutes on the half hour mark saw Chelsea lead. Aubameyang leveled things before Hazard hit the winner for the host.
Dan
Vitolo gave Sevilla a perfect start but we soon cancelled that out, hitting another four goals. Aubameyang hitting his twelfth and thirteenth goals of the season and his sixth brace of the year already. Ginter and Gotze provided the other two goals in another morale boosting, big win.
Dan
A defeat against fierce German rivals Bayern Munich! This time they were the side to hit four. Aubameyang got us going again before Lewandowski leveled things. Alonso fired Bayern into the lead before the break. Thiago made the score three one before Aubameyang scored his seventh brace of the season. Lewandowski matched his tally in the game as he hit a second late on.
Dan
The curse of the English sides continue as my final game of this stint sees us lose out one nil at home to Arsenal.
Dan
And so with my stint done its looking a little better for us than where @Shedender had originally left us. We're up in twelfth place, clear of the relegation zone and relegation playoff zone but unfortunately nowhere near the top end of the table. Manchester United lead the way, twenty points clear as they aim to prove they're the best side in Europe. Real Madrid and Bayern occupy second and third, somewhat three points off the league leaders though. There are some big surprises too, the likes of Roma, Manchester City and Juventus being the bottom three!? Chelsea struggling in eleventh behind fierce rivals Spurs whilst Barcelona are down in eighth.
And a round up of the player stats come the mid point of the season. Despite Aubameyang turning on the style at long last he isn't the leading goal scorer in the league, Benzema is with twenty one whilst Firminio has seventeen and then our main man is in third with fifteen, fourteen of those have been braces as well.
