I have to say if they do that it really is ridiculous. Team selection is a manager's prerogative. If he wants to rest his play-off first XI, he is actually entitled to do so. Might not be perfect, but we've actually earned that. If he wants to play the groundsman at left-back on Saturday, he's perfectly entitled to do that as well. So long as they're registered to play, it's none of the Football League's business who does play. Add to that the team selection against (in particular) Wigan in January (a game we won) and you have to ask what on earth the Football League are playing at. We have the most important games since 1972 coming up, our lookout is to ensure that players are fit and available. Nine of the players used played in both - some from the start, some as subs. We made 8 changes against Wigan from the previous game against Blackburn (and won 1-0). We also made 9 changes against Reading and Sheffield Wednesday and 10 against Newcastle. See below for teams v Wigan in January and from Saturday.

Team v Wigan: Ward, Cranie, Holmes-Dennis, Hudson, Stankovic, Billing (Whitehead), Mooy, Kachunga, Bunn (Lolley), Payne (Hefele), Wells

Bollocks that. The team that came to the DW was a lot stronger than the Huds team we played at your place, regardless of reputation or regular first team status, you can't be judged on that.

If they want to introduce something to enforce it, they should look at the JPT rules and add that to the league. Having to play 5 players that was in your previous matchday squad or something. This happens all the time in the FA Cup, Capital One cup and even Prem before Champions League ties. Nothing is said other than pundits having a whinge about how it used to be.

When we won League One last year our last game was against Barnsley at home - our players had been on the piss with us for a few nights and it was all over Twitter with pics and videos. We lost 4-1 that day and half of our team spent more time supping water on sidelines than playing a game. The loss denied Scunthorpe a place in the playoffs. That's something that should've been looked into but the team sheet would have shown a consistent selection give or take a few kids - thankfully it wasn't, though.

They shouldn't touch squad selection, they're meddling too much. Just concerned it makes their "brand" look bad. Cunts.

Its completely fucking dumb, but the Football League seem so good at doing stupid shit just to make it look like they're doing something.

5 rows on netting to stop Orient fans getting on the pitch today. If they even get into the ground, mounted police crapping themselves outside the ground and pushing the protestors back. Judgement day #3. Oystons out!

I think this is the first time since moving down here a decade ago that I am actively cheering Ipswich on!

Problem is, I struggle to see Brentford losing

Losing out on the title on goal difference on the last day, what kick in the bollocks. Still proud of the team for getting so far.

Absolutely delighted if I never have to sit on a coach to Grimsby ever again though.

Gotta love Portsmouth being champions after only leading League Two for the final half an hour of the season.

Better than when Bristol Rovers were relegated to the Conference after only spending a similar time in the bottom two all season I guess.

And if it wasn't before Assombalonga made it 3, it definitely is too far for Ipswich now.

Never in doubt we'd pull it off

To be fair its a huge slap in the face for Brighton in the way they lost it, but they seem to have taken their foot off the gas since winning promotion. It sucks for them but its the way it is, and at least, like us, they're ducking the play-offs and going straight to the PL.

I'm not sure who I fancy for the play-offs. I think Fulham are favourites but I'd prefer one of the 2 Yorkshire clubs as the PL looks very London/Southern England heavy for next season, and they've endured longer top flight absences. Huddersfield losing Ward for the games with Wednesday is a blow for them, mind.

And of course, commiserations Blackburn. Amazing how Venky's seem to get worse every year.

Brighton deserved to win the league imo but I'll take the title success nonetheless.

It's a shame Blackburn ended up getting relegated to League One, wouldn't have minded Nottingham Forest heading down but it wasn't to be.

Not sure it's that much of a blow. Victim of his own terrible decision making today - never knows when to come out of his box or not. Dallies, doesn't get there, sticks a hand out, gets sent off. Also victim of us playing at less than 50% - so lacksadaisical today. Nobody really giving their all, just strolling round. Cardiff wanted to end the season on a high and duly did. I suspect, however, it'll be a very different Town team against Sheffield Wednesday next Sunday - one with a point to prove and a score to settle, considering the way Wednesday just seem to get the rub of the green every time against us.

Newcastle have won the League though.

Forest are awful for other reasons
