He was a very good player, Nakata, but yeah not quite on Henry or Totti's level - no shame in that though.

Bonucci to Milan, £35m I think, great signing for Milan.

Actually think it could be a great move for both parties. West Ham were really lacking a decent keeper. Adrian and Randolph really don't stand out as even decent GK keepers. If he helps them concede less goals, West Ham could really be back better. Last season they were terrible but two seasons ago they were hard to beat. Hart, a CB and a good striker could see them really improve.

Hart is probably worse than Adrian. He's had that steep of a decline.

Well, last time I really saw him play was in the Euros. If he really is that bad than yea, not a good move.

He was pretty poor at Torino, his season at West Ham could be make or break..

Not sure if Jacob Murphy is a £12million player, but the transfer market is increasingly nonsensical so figures Norwich would charge that and we'd pay it. Manquillo is a curious signing, although I guess we needed an extra full-back with Anita now a Leeds player and Gamez/Haidara/Lazaar being non-entities last season.

Makes absolutely no sense to me why we release Anita and spend £4.5m on a replacement who is probably worse. - I haven't seen enough of him - but he's pretty much universally panned at Sunderland,

Anyway fair play to the Chronicle - Lejeune 'didn't put a foot wrong' - despite making a huge defensive error to gift them a goal. - Why do people feel the need to bullshit about new signings?

I'm puzzled as to how PSG can afford this reported Neymar fee and contract.

They can because its clear the FFP transfer bans are absolutely useless, and clubs aren't scared of them. Had loads of bans recently and it barely makes a difference to teams.

If you ever want a giggle - its always good to look at fans reactions to shite signings.

Riviere was a brilliant addition just three short years ago

Also when does a shite player stop being a 'squad competition' and a 'solid backup' and it then becomes a 'relief' to get them off the wage bill.

Like we've just signed Manquillo for £4.5m and have given away Vurnon Anita, and are in the process of trying to give away Haidara and probably Lazaar and Gamez for knock down prices.

Obviously its fine to be exicted for the new season to see new players - but why does everyone have to fucking delude themselves every year?

I'd have liked Haidara to do well after he recovered quickly from the McManaman assault in 2013. But clearly few saw Paul Dummett being a consistent first team starter coming. Shame but it happens. I was under the assumption Gamez was staying given his pre-season role, while I don't think Lazaar did anything. Surprised at Krul and Darlow being potentially on the "Go away" list, mind, even if the former wasn't exactly great in his last full year and a bit.

Tbh I don't recall major buzz about Riviere, but then he did arrive on the back of a half-decent campaign in Monaco (a phrase that's becoming more frequently in use this summer) so I guess the expectation was he might at least do something of use, rather than a few pre-season goals and one scuffed effort at QPR. Not that it matters now, mind.

As far as I remember, the only punishments UEFA ever really handed out were partial things like Champions League reduced squads and small fines, and even that's gone away of late.

I remember looking at Riviere's goal record before he signed and though it didn't look very good - I think most of his goals came at Ligue 2 and he'd never really done it in the top flight.

But yeah Manquillo, Atsu and Joselu are all clever signings because we benefit from 'decent' squad players now and then in two years time when we finally get rid of them for knockdown fees we can hear about how we've saved £xm on the wage budget. The Sunderland accounting system.

Tbf I don't really rate Joselu as a signing. Weirdly a fair few Stoke fans hate the idea of selling him, although I'm wondering if part of that is because they still haven't really replaced Arnautovic for goals, and their main alternatives for the attacking positions are the aging Diouf & Crouch, or Berahino, who has been shit since joining them. I liked keeping Atsu, but that's only because he did reasonably well last season.

Looks like Coutinho is off, apparently a deal worth upto 108 million has been agreed. Have to say I'd expect more tbh, when you think United spent 90 million on Pogba last year and some of the transfers we've seen this season.

Just hope we bring in VVD and another midfielder now though to replace Coutinho

EDIT: looks like its just ESPN reporting it atm so might still be bollocks

How do you think you will line up? With Coutinho, obviously something like this?

Mane - Coutinho - Salah
Firmino

Could let Solanke lead the line? Who would you bring instead?

Yeah something like that seems about right, Solanke has looked good in preseason but still a bit green i think. As for a replacement, that's what I'm worried about, hoping Klopp doesn't just use some of the money to bring in VVD and then not sign a replacement.

Talk of a fee being agreed for Coutinho is a bit premature I think, isn't it? Although it's probably inevitable he'll end up there eventually.

Who would you want in to replace him?

I think even if Liverpool don't sell Coutinho, they still need another rotational AMC. Could probably offload a striker on loan too, if not sell. I mean there is Sturridge, Origi, Ings, Solanke and even Woodburn who want to play in the position that Firmino takes.

Yeah, it might be the case! With both Mane and Salah on the wings, the only thing I could think of is drop Firmino behind and start with a proper striker. Still, if one gets injured you will be a mess, similar to last season when Coutinho was injured and Mane was at the AFCON

For the record I don't think he'll go, Barca can suck a fat one.

I'd take someone like Sigurdsson though if he did go.

The only way I'd let Coutinho go is if we could agree a deal for Aubameyang from Dortmund, then put him up top and Firmino in the CAM role where Coutinho would of been. But thats very unlikely.

See we rejected another bid from Barca last night, this one rumored to be up to £90million with add ons. Klopp seems persistent to hold on to him, 22 days to go before the window shuts though.

Well, he could only blame himself really for signing a five year deal. Has nothing to do but strike.

Sanchez I hope leaves. As far away from England as possible. Love him so much I need him to stay away from City. Think he will stay though after all.
