This file will need to be re-applied if/when official patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official patches come out.
Some of these changes, ESPECIALLY THE CLUB NAMES, may not apply in the Beta, FM Touch or in existing save-games. There's a workaround for that in the first post.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2018 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed. It will also fix the fact that the German and Japanese National teams don't call up real players. The latter are fully save-game compatible.
There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and French clubs to circumvent licensing restrictions. Due to licensing reasons, the number of Ajax non-playing staff is quite small and this file contains a fix to restore them. It also adds real-life media and journalists, encompassing most major footballing nations and continents. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all the files in this paragraph to work, however, you will need to start a new game.

I can't seem to locate the Football Manager 2018 folder through the C drive > Program files (86) > steam > steamapps > common >
All I see is Fm17 and another game I have from steam

I'll sort that for you Mons. I've kept Editor 17 installed for copying over some of my own league changes, so exporting Ajax staff shouldn't be an issue.

Yes, that's normal. Brazil club name change are not dealt with via lnc files, but through the deletion of the Licensing2.dbc and brazil_kits.dbc files from the dbc/permanent folder, which is part of this download.

Hi mons, thanks for the response. Yes it’s installed as I’ve been playing the beta. I have also added the graphics packs to the game through the other directory that holds game saves and such. But not the other directory through the steam/steamapps

Ive tried everything and despite removing hashtags the club names arent correct. None of the competitions names are correct either. It works on FM 18 but not FMT 18.

I have no idea what you've done and how you've managed it, but this isn't right and should not happen if you've installed this file right.
I'm sorry but I can't really help much beyond that in the OP as I don't use a Mac

I have no idea about FMT as I don't play it. Maybe lnc files aren't activated in FMT or you need a different installation path, or maybe they'll only be activated on the day of release. Appreciate if somebody can confirm/deny this

Why did you verify integrity of game cache? It recreates the files deleted by this download and completely negates the effects of these files.
Check your lnc folder, there should be ONLY the 3 files from this download and nothing else...

I have followed your steps. First deleted the inc, edt and dbc folders and replaced them with your files. My inc folder looks like this now, and it still doesn't work

The club names have now changed, when I changed the City, Club and Stadiums inc. file from #"CLUB to "CLUB. But my competitions and the German and Japan national teams still doesn't work

That screenshot is the way they should be. Can you give me an example of competition name changes which don't work?
The fact that club name changes are working should mean that all the other changes should too, so I can't understand how and why it isn't working

The Bundesliga have not changed and I can still not choose to be manager in the German national team. The competitions and national teams worked before I verified the game cache on steam, but now it is only the club names that are changed??
