3D Kits are special kits designed to make the match engine look even better, with the players wearing customised and improved kits on the pitch.
These will only work with FM24 and earlier. They will not work with the most latest unity versions from FM26 onwards.

Kits work fine in the league, but for some reason in cups/CL it just reverts back to default alongside the kit pack I'm using so the ingame kits are just basic. Not sure what the hell I've screwed up really.

That'll be due to teams using different kits in the cups/CL matches, you can see in the pre-game editor that certain kits have a competition listed, delete those, save that, start a new game with that loaded in and it should be fine

Put them anywhere in Documents / Sports Interactive / Football Manager 2018 / graphics

You can achieve the same result with the IGE by deleting specific competitions in the kit editor and you don't have to start a new game. It's also useful in moving players/managers,permanently or on loan to match the real world without having to load a new database and again losing your save game. However,do not use it to "cheat" by healing players or altering their stats,which I don't,otherwise the challenge of playing FM would be pointless !

Okay so if I understood this right, it was to delete the kits list for carabao cup, FA cup and the CL? Cause I did that and then the first match of the CL the kit was just pure white, no 3d or anything.

Billericay - shirt (image provided), shorts & socks same colour as shirt [both home and away]
Dorking Wanderers- Shirt (images provided), shorts for home is blue and socks is red and away shorts and socks are the same colour as the away shirt.
Note to add the badge on the Dorking shirt is wrong I have added the new correct one.
