This file will need to be re-applied if/when official patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official patches come out.
Some of these changes, ESPECIALLY THE CLUB NAMES, may not apply in the Beta, FM Touch or in existing save-games. There's a workaround for that in the first post.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2019 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed, such as Champions League, Europa League and Premier League displaying instead of EURO Cup, EURO Vase and Premier Division respectively. It will also fix the fact that the Japanese National teams don't call up real players and that the Bayern manager has a fake name. These are all fully save-game compatible.
There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for Brazilian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and French clubs to circumvent licensing restrictions. It also adds real-life media and journalists, encompassing most major footballing nations and continents. Brazilian clubs' text colours are also changed through an editor data file. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all the files in this paragraph to work, however, you will need to start a new game.

This should be what your editor data folder looks like now. There may initially be a config.xml file in this folder and it can be safely overwritten; it is generated by FM every time the game starts.
To make sure the files have been applied correctly, go to the Champions Cup and EURO Vase in your saved game, and they should be renamed to Champions League and Europa League respectively. If you are in the middle of a save-game, Japanese national teams will be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not instantly. Do keep in mind that this file does not add Japan-based players are not in the official database and these will need a third-party add-on to be created and added.

You can get to the Library folder by simply selecting Go from the top bar and holding "alt" key - The Library folder suddenly appears on the drop down
For Mac Lion users, the Library folder will be hidden. Use this link to find out how to show it.
For those struggling to find the Steam and Steam Apps folder etc using Mac with the new OS High Sierra, this link below shows how you can unhide your Library folder which will then let you find the other folders.

Quick question mons, if I edit the files will they be save game compatible after clearing cache or will the changes only work for new save, referring to the inc files?
Sorry if it's a stupid question, have only just diving under the hood of FM, but have delved under hood of many other games and quite enjoy a bit of file editing
mons
Changes made in an lnc file are all save-game compatible
Tommy Hughes
Sadly though, if one changes a club name in the .lnc file, that team's nickname disappears from the save game it's applied to.
mons
Yep, that's the main reason why I go to the trouble of releasing club name changes principally in an editor data, while also giving the opportunity for a workaround via lnc files for those who cannot use editor data files (either because they are using FMT or because they have started a career already)...

SMScredit.lt.A Lyga full name should be renamed to LFF A Lyga. They dont have SMScredit as sponsor anymore
LFF Taure fullname should be renamed to SHARP LFF taure

Here's some little correction advise:
1. Turkish 2nd-tier league name should be renamed to TFF 1. Lig. As you can see on screenshot, it has wrong name.https://prnt.sc/lj92bb
~Thanks to egbertjan.
2. Turkish newspaper "Zaman" and its website "zaman.com.tr" has been closed a long time ago.* These media sources should be deleted.
*:Actually banned by Turkish Government because they've some links to terrorist organizations.
egbertjan
On the site of the tff you can say that the competition Spor Toto 1. Lig is called. That logo in your screenshot is still the old logo. Here is the good logo.

Can you provide some evidence for this please? The final 2 especially just seem like a shortened version of the existing name...

You're probably the first developer I see in the Internet age that sees "new versions every couple of days" as something negative.
Even Football Manager itself gets new versions every couple of days. 4 updates in the last 14 days.

I believe that there is an issue with German club names not being licensed in other languages apart from English. Are you using a different language to English perchance?
faliriotis

no not at all , you probably just don't have all the updates

This year, SI got the official German licence so the fix to change the names over in English wasn't necessary.
If you want to get the club name changes in your save game, the German club name changes are still in the lnc file (instead of the editor data file) and so you can use the workaround in the first post to change them yourself

I was talking about a new game.I have not start a new game yet. When i changed data language from Greek to English and German names fixed. But there is problem when i change data language. Is there a possibility to fix it?
BTW thanks for your replies.

The fix I've mentioned will also work if applied before starting a new game

You are wright.Thanks mate.

The first two are spelled incorrectly in the database, a simple Google search will show that.
Ambrose does not go by Michael: https://www.atlutd.com/players/15/mikey-ambrose, and Gambarte doesn't use both names: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/brian-gambarte/profil/spieler/565747
You don't have to take them, just thought in the interest of presenting the most realistic data you could.
mons
That's good enough for me - will be adding them to the next version of the file

There haven't been a lot of major changes since the last release, just a handful of minor edits. If/when a major new patch is released and/or a massive overhaul of data is made from my end, then I will release a new version
