The files should be identical, however it's impractical to update the other pack only for newer editor file. You should just check the size and date of editor files. Obviously newer and bigger file should be used.

It's hard to say what went wrong. Perhaps it would be best to delete all English folders and start a new. Make sure you do the following:
- have a "graphics" folder in your "my documents / sports interactive / ..."
- have a "3dkits" and "kits" folders in your graphics folder
- simply un-rar my packs to respective folders, SS kits in kits folder and 3d kits in 3dkits folder (obviously)
- once in game, in options clear cache, then reload skin.
So this is all that is required for kits to work. If they don't, I have no idea what could be the problem. We had cases before when people would simply dump rar file in my documents or didn't know to tick "show licenced kits" after editing with in-game editor, changing randomly file names and making some strange things that they forget to mention. From my part I make sure to keep folder structure and file names always the same, so you can simply unpack and overwrite older versions.

sorry to bother you bro, but how do i use paint shop pro to edit the kits so they can match that of fm16
bolid74
First of all, you need some knowledge on basic image editing, like copy, paste, resize, rotate parts of image.
Then you copy various body parts, like chest, back, sleeves from FM 18/19 textures, here's the layout:
Resize and rotate parts to fit FM17 (and older) layout:

bolid, could be possible to create a psd file with automatic conversion process? Just Insert the FM 2018 texture and then photoshop does the main conversion work?
I remember some sort of files to convert FIFA kits to older FIFA 10 & 09 kits format. This method has been really helpful to update FIFA Manager 3D kits.
Is that even possible?
I perfectly understand this could be an annoying request, but it may potentially be a great tool for many football manager players stuck in the past.
bolid74
That is probably possible, but my knowledge of photoshop is only superficial and I don't know how to do it. Another problem is that such macros usualy won't work if we both have different versions of photoshop.

Install winrar, and it should automatically detect all rar files. If it doesn't, then may have not downloaded the correct file or the full file...

It's an editor file that fixes wrong team colours and add/removes 3rd kits where they should or should not be. For levels 1-6 it doesn't really matter because kits and colours are mostly fine, but in levels 7 and below it's a must have.
It's the same thing as SSKCC file, only SSKCC covers wide range of leagues, and fmf file in the pack is only relevant for teams in the pack.
You use it by placing it in documents/sports interactive/fm19/editor data folder (create it if there's none). When starting new career, you'll see it in initial options, check it to be active.
