Last movie I saw was Deadpool, after watching it all I can say is that I have no excuse to have waited so long.

Watched Grimsby, which was as bad as I thought it was going to be. I imagine some of it seemed to British reference heavy for foreign audiences but still had enough disgusting scenes to keep it a Sacha Baron Cohen film.

Also watched Batman v Superman, which was as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Anybody watch All the way on Sky Atlantic the other night?

It is a made for TV film depicting the first year of president Lyndon B Johnson's time in office immediately following the JFK assassination. Bryan Cranston from Breaking bad is brilliant in it.

I did see it, makes Johnson out to be less of a wanker than Reddit does and Bryan Cranston was brilliant, you're right.

Hail, Caesar! - Meh, less than meh actually - there's really only 1 storyline that mattered in the whole movie and they could've done with it around 30 minutes earlier if they cut all the ridiculous fluff. So unless I've completely missed the point of it this ranks as one of the most disappointing films I've watched.

Kingsman though, that was good.

Star gets kidnapped, with the help of other celebrities he finds the star and rescues him or something like that, something with more substance to 'oh I found you let's go back to the studio'.

I've since read that the story's much more about the chief looking for the star while juggling the many other things that he also has to handle, which is somewhat forgivable, but it doesn't justify the (imho) half arsed ending.

It wasn't really about the story imo. That was just a vehicle to show various amusing vignettes and for the Coen bothers to explore the world of 1950s hollywood. If you went in expecting this great, groundbreaking narrative then I can see why it let you down.

The Nice Guys - 8/10

Really enjoyable film, not what I expected at all. Perfect? Not by any means, but more than worth the watch.

Suicide squad, not sure why it'd been rinsed on the ratings, thought it was very goodv

I saw it last week and tbh I was closer to the review rinsing. Had good moments, and I don't think it was appalling as others have, but it felt to me like it was edited together from 2, maybe even 3, different films, and was an utter mess to watch. Crap main villain that sort of just danced a bit didn't help.

Central Intelligence - 8/10

I've never enjoyed a film with Kevin Hart or Dwayne Johnson in before, so I was very pleasantly surprised by this. Only watched it on a whim and I'm glad I did, entertaining!

The Infiltrator - decent enough, mildly entertaining, Cranston was good.
The Girl With All The Gifts - very compelling independent British horror movie.
Deepwater Horizon - surprisingly intense and visceral
The Girl On The Train - not as compelling as the book, but had good moments

I've now gone a full month without finishing a single film, and only watched two films since mid-September. Can't watch anything for more than 10-15 minutes without being overwhelmed with boredom.

Between this, insomnia and just generally feeling like shit I'm thinking my depression might be creeping back. Other things are still fine though, so I don't want to jump to any conclusions.

War Dogs - 7/10

Considering I don't like either of the male leads, the based on a true story tale of these two arms dealers was an enjoyable watch.

Logan. Very watchable and the graphic violence felt justified, but overlong and Christ alive its bleak.

"Rock Dog" with my eldest. The handy combo of her being tired and it having music in worked well. Plus Eddie Izzard does one of the voices, so all good!

John Wick 2 - 8/10. Not as good as the first but still plenty of violence and gun-fu!

Not as true to the book as some will hope for, but I still found it an enjoyable watch.

I didn't know what to expect from this film, but others had seen it and said it was good. I wasn't disappointed, it is a good watch and well worth your time.

Amber Heard as a redhead was something I didn't know I needed in my life - heck I'm surprised she's still getting roles after that shitshow with Johnny Depp
