12 games without a win is pretty bad but it's kinda surprising nonetheless. Have you still got some of the Rhodes money to spend terriersmad?
terriersmad
I'm more surprised at the timing - if I'd have been doing the sacking, he'd have been gone first thing on Monday morning and given Mark Lillis and Steve Eyre the week to work with the team. But 12 without a win tells its own story. We've been unlucky in more than one of those, granted, but we've capitulated too readily in recent weeks and looked like getting dragged into the dogfight.

I'm not really sure what this article is trying to say? Bigger clubs spend more than little clubs seems to be the conclusion.
Bolton, Blackburn and Birmingham, will be burdened with the likes of Zigic on huge wages, who they can't get rid off, and is busing up funds needed to rebuild the team.
One Night In Grimsby
Blackwell can fuck off aswell, accusing us of underhand tactics, the lad actually enjoys his football here you nob. Not out fault you dont know the loan rules!
gfnx25
I didn't knew about this 24 hour rule aswell and I bet you didn't knew about it either
My guess is that Scott talked with Marshall about his situation and told him to play down his contract at Grimsby and then they will sign him on after his contract is down so they don't have to pay him a fee. Clever, but you may admire him at BSP just to find out he won't cut it at L2 level.
Crane
I'll be pissed off if they go down. I like photographing Zola.
One Night In Grimsby
I didn't know about it no, but then it's not for me to know. Blackwell accusing us of all sorts just because he doesn't know the rules is ridiculous. I think its fricking awesome Marshall has told Luton where to go. You can't just arrange a deal for someone without the player even wanting to move.
Our managers spoke with Marshall and his agent to see what he wanted, and he said himself he didn't want anything permanent until the summer. We might not even sign him in the summer, but we'll see. He's doing well for us, he's no world beater but he's decent enough. Hope he bags the winner against Luton on Tuesday night.
And also, L2 isn't really that much different to the BSP, especially the bottom half of L2, all much of a muchness.

But are those three names 'bigger' clubs in terms of regular financial income than such as Town and Charlton? Take the parachute payments and mad Indians out of the equation, and all five sides are in the 13,000-17,000 bracket in terms of attendance and will, therefore, have similar incomes assuming similar ticket prices, merchandising, etc - and you can even throw in TV money. Yet three are still spending £40m+ on wages a year, while the other two are sub-£10m. What the article does show is the massive disparity between sides who have just come down from the Premier League and those who have just gone up, even though there's no real difference in the 'size' of the clubs.
gfnx25
I heard his wife told him not to leave before summer, but that's not for me to know.
I think you're being a bit harsh on Blackwell. Obviously he's a bit angry about your behaviour but you have to understand his point of view. We just paid a PFA loan and got our transfer embargo lifted and the money we could have got for Marshall (fee and wages) would have been very helpful. KB can be a bit choleric and emotional at times, we all know that but I'd rather have a choleric manager than someone just accepting everything and saying nowt.

NiceLad? You'll find him somewhere in the Cut Out forum I guess,

Birmingham, Bolton and Blackburn will be desperate to cut their wage bill if they don't go up though, and will probably be forced to sell their best players and high earners. And a lot of their wage bill will be tied up in average or bad players who they paid too much for and won't be able to shift.
Besides that article are using data from when Blackburn and Bolton are still in the Premier League. And according to that article Birmingham's wages increased from £38m to £45m a year after relegation. Which doesn't add up.
Birmingham sold (or lost), Roger Johnson, Scott Dann, Cameron Jerome, Ben Foster, Liam Ridgewell, Jean Beausajour, Michel, Lee Bowyer, Barry Ferguson, Craig Gardner, Sebastian Larsson, Martin Jiranek, Stuart Parnaby, Maik Taylor, Kevin Phillips, Alexsandr Hleb, Obafemi Martins, Matt Derbyshire and David Bentley. And Alex McLeish.
And signed, Guraine N'Daw, Pablo Ibanez, Boaz Myhill, Chris Wood, Wade Elliot, Chris Burke, Marlon King, Jonathon Spector, Adam Rooney, Steven Caldwell and Morgaro Gomis. And Chris Hughton. So a pretty drastic cut, which is still going on and a £34m 'profit' from these transfers, which is still going on, apparently they've cut the price for Butland to £3.5m.
If Bolton don't go up at the end of the season it is likely Mark Davies, C.Y. Lee and the likes will need to be sold, to keep the business going.
And if Bolton/Blackburn/Birmingham remain in this division for the next 5-10 years there wage bill will more than likely come into line with Huddersfield/Charlton/etc.
terriersmad
You're right, in that Bolton, Blackburn, etc, will see their big stars leave over the next season or so if they don't go up, and we'll start to see them come into line with developing clubs like Town and Charlton. But we'll continue to see this season on season.
Shola
If parachute payments were pulled away, it is possible that their would maybe be 8 or so clubs who would be rich and then a massive gulf, where the likes of Norwich, Swansea and Wigan would have to tighten their budgets. And teams like Newcastle could probably be guaranteed a top ten spot.

One Night In Grimsby
But what did we do?!
Anyway, away at Cambridge this afternoon. 0-0 at the break. Hoping to nick 3 more points.

Bonjour. Apparently Marcos Lopes is possibly joining us on loan, I've heard he's very promising, but will he be ready for the championship?
Excellent comeback win for us today 1-0 down to Charlton until the last 5 minutes, Lita scoring on his debut and another goal from Reda Johnson getting us the win, our form since christmas has been fantastic, got a great chance of staying up now
bluemoon.
This was what I was going to ask about. Not entirely sure if he's ready for the Championship but my concern is more about the physicality of it than anything else, he's quite small. That said, he's ridiculously talented; very good technically and he's quick so if nothing else he'd make a great impact sub.
This should give you an idea of what he's capable of:
Was interested to see Dave Jones talking about a possible 'agreement' between City and Wednesday too.
NiceLad
Looks like a good little player, hopefully he can have the same positive impact Helan had. The agreement thing is interesting, I know Jones was at you training ground on Thursday, him and Mancini must have got on, I'd imagine it'll be you sending us some players on loan which would be excellent
gfnx25
Can't tell you but i'm 100% sure he's not angry about his behaviour
Very sad news for all Bury fans, Efe Sodje is meant to be signing for Macclesfield on loan tomorrow. His contract is up in the summer, so yesterday was probably the last time he was on the teamsheet as a Bury player.

Probably had a telling off from the club.
gfnx25
Hope he will be better than Futcher.
Sodje will be sorely missed. Still a rock-hard defender who does the nitty gritty work. His legs are obviously gone but his lack of pace he makes up with his desire and his pure will. It is rumoured that Izale MacLeod is still in his pocket. Good luck for the rest of your career Efe!
We have about 16 trialists at the club, according to Tom Hopper. I consider going to our reserve game tomorrow against Shrewsbury
gfnx25
And I regret this decision. Started with 7 trialists and had two more of the bench. Trialists were Ipswich's Jack Ainsley, Carl Regan (yeah THAT Carl Regan), Euan Holden, Martin Devaney, Adam Dawson (former youth player, who was sold to Wigan two season's ago), Stelios Andrikos, Alexandros Veletis, Fernando Pasarero (nothing on google, so probably some mystery player), Kristos Fafoutis and Mike Mampuya.
If anyone can tell me more about these players, that would be appriciated.
Lost one 1-0 through a corner. HOlden looked decent and Dawson pretty good as well, the rest fucking shit (the Greek players especially)
One Night In Grimsby
We've got a 2 legged Semi Final against either FC Halifax or Dartford now, great chance of getting to Wembley.
rossiheslopi
Come on Halifax, get one step closer to Wembley!
