This file will need to be re-applied if/when official patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official patches come out.
Some of these changes, ESPECIALLY THE CLUB NAMES, do NOT apply in existing save-games. There's a workaround for that in the first post.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2021 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed, such as Champions League, Europa League and Premier League displaying instead of EURO Cup, EURO Vase and Premier Division respectively. It will also fix the fact that the German and Japanese National teams don't call up real players and that the Bayern Munich and Borussia Mönchengladbach managers have fake names. These are all fully save-game compatible.
There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for Brazilian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian (including Juventus) and French clubs to circumvent licensing restrictions. It also adds real-life media and journalists, encompassing most major footballing nations and continents. Brazilian clubs' text colours are also changed through an editor data file. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all the files in this paragraph to work, however, you will need to start a new game.
Follow the below instructions to install this version of this file

PASTE them into each of your respective folders mentioned in step 1.

This will bring up the ‘Library’, click to enter then go to ‘Application Support’ -> ‘Sports Interactive’ -> ‘Football Manager 2021’
This should be what your editor data folder looks like now. There may initially be a config.xml file in this folder and it can be safely overwritten; it is generated by FM every time the game starts.
To make sure the files have been applied correctly, go to the Champions Cup and EURO Vase in your saved game, and they should be renamed to Champions League and Europa League respectively. If you are in the middle of a save-game, Japanese national teams will be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not immediately. Do keep in mind that this file does not add Japan-based players, who are not in the official database and will need a third-party add-on to be created and added.
Club names are only changed if you apply the editor data files before starting a new game. For a workaround if you've already started a new save-game, then please read the opening post of this thread.

That's the installation folder; the game must be installed somewhere, no? 😉
If you can't find this folder, use Steam to help you. Check FM21's properties:
Then navigate to the local files tab and click the browse local files button.
It'll take you to the FM21 installation folder where you should be able to navigate to the data\database\db path according to the instructions in the main past.

Portuguese third divisions is included, but not the Spanish one. I'm not releasing a new update with every fix I do, but you can add the below to the lnc using Notepad if you want to 🙂

for instance spartak moscow v arsenal tula on the scoreboard it says spamsk v arstul i would rather it say there full name it looks mad to me on the scoreboard its never been like that in the past

That looks to me like the scoreboard is using each club's 6 letter name as assigned in the database. That's a skinning issue and can't be solved by this file or any other.
Perhaps some of the skins released thus far may use the short name instead of the 6-letter names, I wouldn't know. Best to check in our skin forum to see if any of them help you in this regard.

I was checking this and I don't know what file you're using, but the Bolton stadium name isn't changed with this download and is already correct in the default database.

In my game (dutch), it's still called "Reebok Stadium" I just loaded a new game

Very strange. There's no entry in this file for the Bolton stadium and it appears as The University of Bolton stadium in the default database. How about if you play in English?

You re right: in English it's ok: The University of Bolton Stadium.
But in Dutch it keep saying Reebok Stadium. When you open Editor it also saying Reebok Stadium without opening any file. So its only in Dutch. I must change it myself in Editor, or its something you can put in your file for future updates?

You don't need to redownload this file every time, and you would probably not see any of the changes if you do, but why take the risk. It's a small file and takes very little time to install; might as well just in case 🙂

Oh I'm not downloading these files each time, I can obviously only use the same ones I already downloaded 😀 but it's a bit of a hassle to first delete all the folders, then copy paste in the "fix ones" EVERY time they drop a hot-fix. I'm talking about the minor patches. I was curious if anyone knew for a fact these minor patches does replace the folders files or not. (cant look up the names atm)
I have been replacing them with every damn hot fix now, which been like one every other day at this point... :face_with_tongue:

Btw something I been looking for as I notice this DL is "updated" every so often atm. Is there a changelog somewhere as to what has been added, or fixed further for each update to the DL here on Sortitoutsi?

Heaven help me if I have to release a changelog to this file. It's just me working on this, really, with the contribution of the community who suggest additions/edits in the posts of this thread. If you want to have a rough idea of what's changed, just read the comments in this thread to see what was suggested 😉

The competition you mention is different from the competition with Maradona's name. I don't believe the latter is in the game.
