If you're playing FM Touch, use this file.
This file will need to be re-applied if/when official patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official patches come out.
Some of these changes, ESPECIALLY THE CLUB NAMES, do NOT apply in existing save-games. There's a workaround for that in the first post.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2021 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed, such as Champions League, Europa League and Premier League displaying instead of EURO Cup, EURO Vase and Premier Division respectively. It will also fix the fact that the German and Japanese National teams don't call up real players and that the Bayern Munich and Borussia Mönchengladbach managers have fake names. These are all fully save-game compatible.
There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for Brazilian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian (including Juventus) and French clubs to circumvent licensing restrictions. It also adds real-life media and journalists, encompassing most major footballing nations and continents. Brazilian clubs' text colours are also changed through an editor data file. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all the files in this paragraph to work, however, you will need to start a new game.

This should be what your editor data folder looks like now. There may initially be a config.xml file in this folder and it can be safely overwritten; it is generated by FM every time the game starts.
To make sure the files have been applied correctly, go to the Champions Cup and EURO Vase in your saved game, and they should be renamed to Champions League and Europa League respectively. If you are in the middle of a save-game, Japanese national teams will be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not immediately. Do keep in mind that this file does not add Japan-based players, who are not in the official database and will need a third-party add-on to be created and added.
Club names are only changed if you apply the editor data files before starting a new game. For a workaround if you've already started a new save-game, then please read the opening post of this thread.

You can find these folders by clicking, in the Finder, the Go menu in the menu bar, then choose Go to Folder and type the folder path name (obviously inserting your username), then click Go.
You can get to the Library folder by simply selecting Go from the top bar and holding "alt" key - The Library folder suddenly appears on the drop down
For Mac Lion users, the Library folder will be hidden. Use this link to find out how to show it.
For those struggling to find the Steam and Steam Apps folder etc using Mac with the new OS High Sierra, this link below shows how you can unhide your Library folder which will then let you find the other folders.

Looks like Argentine Superleague Cup no longer exist and is replaced by Copa Diego Maradona... Same teams are playing in Copa Diego Maradona that have played in Argentine Superleague Cup. Only structure is little bit diffrent.

I think we should rename this cup.

I need to see in-game confirmation that the competitions in the FM are the same as irl, and then I'll change it willingly.

maybe only with the DB update in march this are in teh game
mons
That's a relatively easy and save game compatible fix 😉
PequenoGenio88
DB fixes don't need new saves to be actives?
kingrobbo
cant you download/and update the persons files for them as well😉
its not as if you do much for the community here😁
some people aye😠

If you want to add it yourself (works mid-save as well, but you'll lose the Napoli club nickname, though), simply add this line into the City, Club and Stadium Names.xml in ...\Football Manager 2021\data\database\db\2100\lnc\ + 2101\lnc\ + 2110\lnc\ + 2111\lnc\ using Notepad:
# Napoli
"STADIUM_NAME_CHANGE" 1150 "Stadio Diego Armando Maradona" ""
mons
You can change stadium names simply through an lnc file, hence part of the name of one of the lnc files included in this download 😉
That's not quite correct.
a) Changing the stadium name doesn't affect the club nickname, which is only removed if you change the club name
b) That UID you used is the club's. It's the stadium's which you want to use 😉
# Napoli
"STADIUM_NAME_CHANGE" 1229 "Stadio Diego Armando Maradona" ""
is what you want to add.
Tommy Hughes
Oh, whoops. 🙂 Thanks for the corrections!

One of the files that comes with the game and I have no idea 😀
Bielsa is a Legend
It’s when the Leeds fan pop to York for a game, as York is in tier 2, it expands the stadium to 50,000 capacity to fit the Leeds fans in 😉

I had to change the screenshot since the most recent FM patch (and consequently the most recent version of this file) had some files added to them.
What's in your dbc/permanent folder then?
Nero_4_ever
Thank you for asking :face_with_tongue: I've download the game and the file today.
mons
I had updated the wrong screenshot
Here's what the screenshot for the dbc/permanent folder should look like:
Both look fine at your end, crack on 👍

Hi,
Can I ask how I remove the entry in the Juventus fixes editor data file? I tried opening it with notepad and it was unreadable.
Also when you say edit the data in the .inc folder does that need to be done for all three locations 2100, 2101 and 2111.
Thanks
_ErHaN_
I tried this many times but it doesn't work same as Juventus.
mons
Editor data files can only be opened with the editor. If you don't want that file, you can easily remove it from the editor data folder - that's why I have the changes in separate files so that users can pick and choose if they so wish.
Yes, change the lnc files in all 3 folders to be safe.
You're right - very strange! Seems like there's an issue with all Italian stadium name changes not working. I'll have to include an editor data file specifically for that next time round.
irontusk
Sorry I haven`t used the editor before. I have just opened the file using the editor but I can`t see where/how to remove the zebra u23 name.
Basically I just want to play a save as Juventus and the only thing not working is that the U23 squad is in the Italian cup.
mons
Top left > File > load editor data. Choose the Juventus fixes file.
Go to the club tab on the left. From the top click add condition and choose name. Type in Juventus and click on the team in the list presented.
In the menu on the left, navigate down till near the bottom there is an entry for the U23 team. Click on it, and change the entries to Zebre U23 or whatever it is you want them as.
irontusk
I will report this to Sports Interactive not sure it it fixes itself over time but it basically means starting a save as Juventus is pointless
mons
It's an irritating little bug, granted, but it's not the end of the world if the U23 team enters the Coppa Italia imo. Far from ideal, but it's not game-breaking really.
DanieleDeRossi16
mons
Yes, that's what I said a few pages back in fact 😕
DanieleDeRossi16
Yes I remember reading that, the difference between version 1.3 and 1.4 is that the U23 name change takes place in the editor file in 1.3 and in the LNC file in 1.4.
However, thanks for these files! 🙂
irontusk
Just seem to be struggling with this for some reason. Have tried a few things and even if I start a new game and the U23 team is called Zebra U23 they are still in the coppa italia for some reason!
