THEKEZ7

Bought it last night and played for around 5 hours with absolutely no idea of what everything is. My 'strategy' was essentially get everything that is available in the hope that it will suffice the rest of my region.

I'll join but honestly don't expect anything special!

Added you. You need to play once on the Europe West 2 server once before I can invite you to the region though.

Sent you a friend request on origin.

And this is an arcology. Basically a technically advanced megastructure housing thousands of people.

Was considering buying this. Not sure if my computer/internet connection will be up to scratch though.

How are you all finding it?

What I meant is, uneducated sims will lead to more fires. Same with their health, dumb sims get sick and hurt themselves much more than smart ones.

Abandoned houses is another thing that causes fires, try to tear them down whenever you see them.

Yeah, same here, the videos and screenies all look great but I've heard a constant torrent of negativity towards the game

Apparently it's already been hacked though. BBC Tech news

Always online game that you can not play offline? That alone is enough to wait for a 50% drop in price and then you factor in the issues so far and it should make you think before you part with even a penny for this.

That's not how it works and you know it. I really want to go for a meal out but my favourite restaurant is too expensive so I'll wait a few months for the price to drop. Or maybe they'll have a sale.

It's a much better game than Sim City 4. If you want to play a modern Sim City game, it is worth the price. Yes, the always online is annoying but the servers are stable and the game works. If always online is a deal breaker, you don't need some random cunt on the internet to tell you not to get it. If you have £40 and want to play a Sim City then get stuck in. It's that simple.

There are alternatives to this for now. A kickstarter has started for an offline game like it and there are cheaper alternatives like Cities XL. Right now £40 is simply not a good price for this game.

Started a city in the Susie region.

Had $15k an hour coming in at one point plus about $50k a day in oil, then ran it into the ground now almost about to go bust \o/

Got tonnes of buildings turned off and 3 bonds. I CAN DO THIS.

Flash, Kes and Franck i've sent friend requests to you all (PJnDuncan is my name), not been able to get to the Susie region though as that server is always full ffs.

As for it not being worth the money, i actually think it is now i've got it. Spent the last two evenings playing and am really enjoying it, plus there seems to be constant updates/patches that are fixing all the previous problems. So far so good for me.

Having a bit of a dilemma with which free game I should choose. Is Battlefield 3 or NFS: Most Wanted any good?

Edit: Oh, great. Neither support Windows XP. That's just fantastic.

So my choice is now down to two games I already have or three games I have absolutely no interest in. This totally makes up for EA's fuck-ups.

Hasn't somebody already cracked the game to work offline?

The guy in the BBC article hadn't found a way to get save games to work offline, so no, not really.

I went with Need For Speed, not that that really makes any difference to you now.

It doesn't kick you out if your internet goes down by the way. Basically, all the saved games are on a cloud so you need to be connected to load and save. That's about it.
