I don't think I'll even play the Single player on this if I buy it, so nothing for me to get excited about.

they all look the same, has become one of the more boring genres. Id rather play Rambo 1st blood part 2 on the Commodore 64.

That looks pretty nice, but the guy playing has some terrible aim.

Apparently the target audience isn't, as these games keep generating tonnes of money.

I used to love the Battlefield series when it first came out, then they decided to turn it into Desert Combat 2 and it started taking itself far too seriously and I lost my interest.

Yeah right.
You were still shitting your pants when I was enjoying the animated loading screen of GI Joe on my C64 in the 80s, so dont call me hipster, little kid.

Hmm. One thing I'll say is I'm not sure why this genre of games have gotten so grey and dirty. That's not to say all new shooters look the same, that's a stupid thing to say, It just seems for a strange trend to be setting. Why are people attracted to this? Is it because console multiplayer shooter fans aren't given much option or are they making the games because people are still asking for them. If they are asking for them, then why are they?
Not that I'm hating on the game itself, Battlefield is a great game. I just get slightly concerned when I see these games get hyper realistic like this. Hyper realism isn't fun, for me at least. Not to mention that realism = shooting Russians. It's as if the whole mindset of America is stuck in the 70s but whatever, I'm sure it will be a good game it just looks very safe.

What I'd recommend if you're interested in this game and you play your games on PC is look at downloading Planetside 2. It's a free MMO style shooter. It plays a lot like Battlefield in my opinion but more fun. It's probably worth looking at a guide before playing as you're kind of dropped in without much guidance. Or maybe I skipped all the guidance, that sounds more likely.

Yeah I was going to make that point and then couldn't be assed.

When cod5 came out a lot of people were a bit 'not this again' but its probably swung the other way now.

We need a WW2 game with a really strong narrative i think, we've had WW2 games before but they didn't really have strong stories despite being based on true events they didn't feel very real. Imagine a game that was essentially Saving Private Ryan the game

We need games that utilise the medium of immersion and control in a better manner. That doesn't mean there isn't room for shooters, but the shooter market is saturated.

So a Hollywood version of World War 2? (Ha!)

We need Band of Brothers the videogame tbh. Brothers in Arms tried, and had a lot of good things, but it could certainly be improved quite a bit.
