Hi, would like some feedback for this image. I've found the png already cutout at a database, but in a small size. So I've enlarged it with the AI Tool provided in the first post, and then worked it with remove.bg and some photoshop to try to repair as much as possible.

The source:
I've tried finding a better image, but so far couldn't.
Any feedback appreciated, as I can edit a lot of the reserve from Al-Wasl (and I imagine other teams from UAE).
Regards!

The one in the link above has a little bit of snow, which you can clean using the same technique I mentioned to you yesterday here 👍
NahuelFK
Yes, I saw it and I'm trying to improve it. The snow and the strange hairs were always a weakness 🙂
What do you think of this version? https://sortitoutsi.net/graphics/browse/1/799238/timeline#submission_1824136
mons
Better but there is still a small amount of snow in the hair.
Also, if you're finding pre-cut sources and using AI tools to upscale them to 250x, they will lose a bit of quality and sharpness and look a bit like a waxwork. It's better to have them in 180x180, or to find better and larger sources to cut them from 👍

Do you have any tips for this not to happen?
mons
remove.bg is not a very good tool but it's not perfect. Either you accept the cut without the little tuft of hair, or else you use the edit > restore function on remove.bg to undo the hair removal and manually erase the non-hair bit part of the cut, or use another tool such as Vertus Fluid Mask to cut it.
I've done it for you here, just a small bit of outline left to delete 👍

Thank you very much @mons

A while since I last did a cut. How is this? @mons
Player is Gravius of Degerfors.
bakizp
Cut is ultra clean, well done.Cut off 2 more pixels below the chin.
AIKStockholm
Will I need then to make sure there is some kind of collar?
bakizp
Yes,collar is a must.In this case you don't need to move collar up,just crop the image a bit closer to the chin with collar still visible.
bakizp
@AIKStockholm
Something like this
AIKStockholm
Thanks for the suggestion. Will work around a bit more with it. @bakizp

This one of Ekpolo (Häcken) would be fine?
mons
Similar to baki's feedback yesterday, I'd have cropped the image just a little bit closer to the chin., but it's perfect otherwise.
AIKStockholm
Aight 🙂 Think I'm just doing everything to avoid collar - as I find the technique difficult for some reason (did see the tutorials).
mons
In this particular cut, cropping the source a few pixels further up wouldn't really necessitate nudging the collar upwards as it seems to be in the right area already.
It's really not that hard imo. What you need to do is lasso an area which includes both the collar and the neck.
By pure happenstance, the preview image of the tutorial shows how best to do so - the lassoed part of the neck should be straight down from the bit without the collar. That way, when you nudge it upwards with the arrow buttons, you won't need as much fiddling around and it should look a fair bit more natural. I also suggest that the top part of the lassoed bit is perfectly in line with the bottom of the chin. This way, when you crop the image 2-3 pixels beneath the chin, only a small bit of the collar will be visible 🙂 Once you get the hang of it, it shouldn't take you more than 5-10 seconds to do it tbh.
AIKStockholm
I'll work around it next few days, and post my tries here to receive feedback and hopefully when comfortable start some cutting.
mons
Truth be said, apart from moving the collar, the cuts are perfectly fine - and it's a tweak which is only needed in a minority of images anyway tbh.

My first cut! Impressions?
mons
Not bad but the hair appears to be a bit more jagged than necessary. Can we have the original source for a better assessment? It might be that the source has had the background removed already and so it might be difficult to get better hair details. Another thing to keep in mind is the need to crop images much closer to the chin. You should only have 2-3 pixels beneath the chin - after all, it's a facepack not a face-and-neck-pack 😉 There also seems to be a bit of snow in the hair, but it could be related to the source tbh.
Otherwise quite a good cut, a very solid start 👍

Thanks a lot for the good advices!
Source of the pic:
Otherwise, here are the other cuts I also did ..
And I notice that in some pictures the neck is too pronounced. I'm still trying to figure out how to solve it. Also, I have a problem like with the second cut where the face is moved a little more to the left. I still can't figure out how to move my face to the right along the axis and straighten the cut.
mons
Here's a cut from that source:
As you can see there is a lot more hair details, as well as the fact that it's cropped closer to the chin. The additional hair details leads me to suspect you may not be using remove.bg to get the initial draft cut. Have a look at this video tutorial to see how easy it is to use and produce high-quality cuts:
For your first and third cuts, you're cropping too far from the chin, and in the case of the third one too far from the top of the head. For the second cut, watch this video to see how to rotate images before cropping them:
If you're not using Photoshop, this site will do for rotating.

@mons
Thanks a lot for all the possible advices! In fact, yes, I did not use remove.bg but I was guided from beginning to end by this video. Without exception, I "copied" every possible guy and did each of the cuts on him.
One more question, I'm interested in how you increased the brightness on the upper cut? Also, is it possible to reduce the brightness, say on the first cut where we see that the right side of the face is in the sun and the glare is strong?
I'll fix these two so I'll post the results later!
mons
The video is a good demonstration of how to use the Refine Edge technique, which was one of the better methods to cut out images. Since that video was released, we discovered remove.bg, which produces better cut-outs more easily and more quickly, so it became the foremost method for cutting and I certainly recommend using it from now on.
If you're using Photoshop, I recommend downloading this action file, which contains a number of one-click actions for processes you'll need to use regularly when cutting - one of which is to increase the brightness.
It's a bit of an advanced technique and to be used with care, but in instances where one half of the face is shrouded in shadow, it might help to tweak the Levels (CTRL + L) and nudge the middle measure to the left.

I think this cut-out is a bit of dark. How can I improve the light on it?
mons
You can brighten it by following these steps. There's also a Photoshop action file for common processes in the first link on the second post of this thread, including one for brightening images.
Not much point imo tbh, the current cut is only a few weeks old and already brighter, which is why your cut wasn't considered an improvement.

Ok now I'll upload a couple of images
weeniehutjr
To upload cutouts, you need to do it on this page (either the “Upload Image” button for single images, or “Upload pack” for many cutouts at once), not in this thread.
Addtionally, all cutouts should be 250*250px if the image quality is good enough - 180px is only for when the image is too small or too low quality.
