It's a common complaint that when people set the wage it's usually inaccurate and we're better off letting the game automatically set the wage.

Should we block editing the wage all together or is there some cases where it's useful to be able to set an exact figure?

I figure it's better to always let the game set it, since it will definitely set it to a realistic value that the team in question can handle, where as wage reports in the media are always going to be inaccurate and include bonuses and media rights etc.

Thoughts on blocking it all together?

yes agree with letting game set it mate for the reasons I have given before- when playing in lower leagues with wage caps/board restrictions etc a guesstimate from a user on a wage can have consequences on your game

and I dont think I have seen any official links actually confirm a wage it is usually tabloid conjecture and rumour
IMO let the game generate it

I agree with letting the game set it personally, it will make editting club finances so much easier, somebody submitting a massively inflated wage can unbalance a clubs finances, likewise if they go way under etc. I can always include wage edits where relevant in the financial extra file I presume? (i.e. clubs in danger due to wages, make sure they are in game and a challenge etc).

Would it be possible to add injuries or bans? For example Andre Onana was suspended by the UEFA for a year starting today. Such a shame, one of the best goalkeepers of the world who mistakenly used a pregnancy medicine of his wife (that included something that doesn't even improve performance). Besides that, it would be great to include that level of realism in the data update.

I agree with the wages, most of the times when players transfer it changes but by letting the game decide stops unbalanced effects.

What I'd also love to see is that I'm able to change my request/submission when it has not been approved yet. When you make a mistake you have to file in the submission twice.

you make a good point here and the option to edit your own submission would be of benefit

on your first point PM me I can tell you how you can add injuries/bans to your save game using FMRTE if you want that realism😉

@Footygamer  following on from the above think it would be good to have the option of adding what type of contract a player has eg -

also the option to add squad status-

take shola shoretire he now has a full contract and is training with the first team squad

As long as somebody can help me collate the data, I will do an injuries and bans extra file, at least for the “major” leagues.

+1 to letting the game set it automatically - if salary information was easily accessible (and submitters were willing to research)  it would be a different story.

Maybe we should take into consideration this problem such as https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-data-update/person/7564092

Holy moly, 289 k p/w!? Just imagine the press conference where IFK Goteborg announce their great new signing, and their subsequent bankruptcy at the same time. 🙂

Is it causing a problem in game? Can you screenshot how it appears in game?

Yes, it's possible.

I've made some changes, but Hamsik isn't included because it was set to “pending” rather than “approved”.

There will be a new update at 4am as normal

As you have now blocked updating of wages, can your moderators now remove/delete a players wages when a player signs a contract extension  (so that the game will reallocate/decide a new wage) , as things currently operate, when a player signs a contact extension (which would include a wage rise), their wage does not change

Recent examples

Ward-Prowse https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-data-update/person/29076100

Harvey Barnes https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-data-update/person/28100207

Hayden Carter https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-data-update/person/29175406

Also, should we not also remove the % of wages paid by loaning club and let the game also decide that too?

I am aware that it is probably too late in the day for this to be implemented for FM21, but surely it makes sense when FM22 is released?

Only just working on this now.

I don't think it's going to be possible to set the squad status as it's not possible to extract this information as far as I can tell. This means that every single player will wind up being edited just to set “First Team”.

Contract type does seem editable.

Please correct me if i'm wrong or confused.
