For getting larger sizes from kicker.de player profiles (most useful for German teams):

If you open the image in a new tab you get a URL like this one. Remove the part in red:
https://derivates.kicker.de/image/fetch/f_webp,w_150,h_176,c_fill,g_auto,q_auto:best/https%3A%2F%2Fsecure-mediadb.kicker.de%2F2022%2Ffussball%2Fspieler%2Fxl%2F135841_9_20211013686.jpg

Then, you'll have to change “%2F” in the URL to “/” (this is how /s are encoded in Unicode), to get a working image:
secure-mediadb.kicker.de%2F2022%2Ffussball%2Fspieler%2Fxl%2F135841_9_20211013686.jpg

So you get an image URL that looks like this:
https://secure-mediadb.kicker.de/2022/fussball/spieler/xl/135841_9_20211013686.jpg

To make the process of getting multiple images easier, instead of having to repeat those steps for other images, you can just copy and paste this string at the end of the URL into the working image link:
https://derivates.kicker.de/image/fetch/f_webp,w_90,h_106,c_fill,g_auto,q_auto:best/https%3A%2F%2Fsecure-mediadb.kicker.de%2F2022%2Ffussball%2Fspieler%2Fxl%2F85778_9_20211012141.png

However, it's important to note that “2022” in this case refers to images from the 2021-2022 season; you'll need to replace that with “2021” for images from 2020-2021, and so on, and “spieler” needs to be replaced by “trainer” for coaches/managers.

For a couple of Slovakian clubs:

FK Košice:

Open the player's profile image in a new tab, and change the bit of the URL below in red:

https://www.fckosice.sk/imgcache/david-guba-e-news-23-3-450-600-0-f8f8f8.jpg?v=1633700938

To this:

https://www.fckosice.sk/imgcache/david-guba-e-news-23-3-1000-1500-0-f8f8f8.jpg?v=1633700938

MFK Tatran Liptovský Mikuláš:

Replace this part of the image URL:

http://www.mfktatran.sk/photoloader/8649/640x480

With this to get a larger image size (it only seems to work for this season's player images though):

http://www.mfktatran.sk/photoloader/8649/0x0

Hi @krissmed / @weeniehutjr   / Anyone else who can help,

Is there a way to save the original images from the official websites?

Sometimes they have just a low resolution picture of the player that does not work for cut outs..

But i heard that you can take the original picture that have a high resolution and then use that one.

Any help is more than welcome! Thanks mate

Have a look at this post for getting larger images on EFL websites. If the image is still too low resolution after following these steps, then unfortunately that means the image uploaded to the website is too low res to begin with and otherwise there's nothing you can do.

Thanks @HRiddick for the info, unfortunately the picture is low resolution.

Is there a way to use the picture included in the editor?  I think that one will work

@weeniehutjr do you know if there's a way to save these pics? https://www.nac.nl/jeugdopleiding/elftallen/onder-18/selectie

Open page in Firefox, press CTRL+I ,that opens Page Info window.

In it click on Media tab and there are images,in this case full sized one.

Click on “Save as” button, and that's it.

For sources on EFL websites, such as with this request:

Replace the segment "?preset=square", or any other variant like "?preset=header" with "?anchorpoint=top" to get the largest portion of the top of the image, "?anchorpoint=middle" for the centre portion and "?anchorpoint=bottom" for the bottom portion. These can be combined to make a larger image than the one provided on each player profile.

Example links:

https://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/api/image/cropandgreyscale/74506261-81ac-4ac8-b368-56d2c90dce89/?preset=square&greyscale=false
https://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/api/image/cropandgreyscale/74506261-81ac-4ac8-b368-56d2c90dce89/?anchorpoint=top&greyscale=false

Commenting on this for visibility for anyone who wants to combine the larger images from EFL sites:
Once you've gotten the “anchorpoint=top” with “anchorpoint=middle” images like mentioned above, you can combine them in an image editor such as Photoshop or Photopea. Make a 1360*1000px sized canvas, and then align the top image to the top of the canvas, and the middle image to the bottom.

Additionally, if the images are pixellated/blurry (some clubs don't upload full-size versions and their system will automatically upscale them), you can replace “?preset=square with “?preset=player for a medium-sized version that should at least be large enough for a 180px cutout.

That's the largest size available from that website.

Remove -300x300 at the end.

Unfortunately all you get is the double sized image.

Not the same source but you can get larger images for Young Boys and other Swiss teams on the Swiss Super League website: https://www.sfl.ch/klubs/detail/bsc-young-boys-20222023/#tab-chart-team-1

Thanks, can't change anything in the link to get those bigger? Because now you'd still need to upsize them in order to get a 250x250

Inspect element on the image, the one at the top next to “2x” will be twice as large (e.g. this one)
