Some types of snake venom works by killing tissue, I'd presume the man's foot looks like it does because his doctors have removed all the dead flesh from it.

Indeed. I used to watcha series called "I Was Bitten". Here are a few of the most extreme cases I can find from the show on the net.

Below this guys thumb swells up to a huge size and then decomposes so much that the flesh and bone "liquify".

Thsi one someone is bitten and their muscles make tremors that are visible on the skin. Mental.

There was another one that bit a guy and his arm swelled up so much that they actually had to make incisions in his skin to relieve the preassure or else he would have had to have his whole arm amputated.
