This file will need to be re-applied if/when official patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official patches come out.
Some of these changes, ESPECIALLY THE CLUB NAMES, do NOT apply in existing save-games. There's a workaround for that in the first post.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2023 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed, such as Premier League displaying instead of Premier Division. It will also fix the fact that the German and Japanese National teams don't call up real players. These are all fully save-game compatible.
There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for Brazilian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian (including Napoli) and French clubs, as well as Manchester Utd, to circumvent licensing restrictions. It also adds real-life media and journalists, encompassing most major footballing nations and continents. Brazilian clubs' text colours are also changed through an editor data file. Another editor data file creates the Ajax non-playing staff and the German national team manager missing from the database due to licensing restrictions. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all the files in this paragraph to work, however, you will need to start a new game.

This should be what your editor data folder looks like now. There may initially be a config.xml file in this folder and it can be safely overwritten; it is generated by FM every time the game starts.
To make sure the files have been applied correctly, go to English Premier Division in your saved game, and it should be renamed to Premier League. If you are in the middle of a save-game when you install this download, Japanese and German national teams will be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not immediately. Do keep in mind that this file does not add Japan-based players, who are not in the official database and will need a third-party add-on to be created and added.
Club names are only changed if you apply the editor data files before starting a new game. For a workaround if you've already started a new save-game, then please read the opening post of this thread.

That looks fine. Which in-game page are you having the name not showing correctly then? Screenshots please
Tolky
I am not even sure there is a problem with the files. Maybe you just decided to change the short names of Ligue 1 teams from city names like “Lyon”, “Montpellier” and “Toulouse” to full names like “Olympique Lyonnais”, “Montpellier HSC” and “TFC”. It just appears that in the skin that I use the names are too long for the standings tile and some team names are truncated.
mons
I didn't edit any French names for v2.0 🤷🏻♂️
How about if you change the language to English in the newly-started career? Do the names still appear the same then?
Tolky
I can't explain this but I took the screenshot from the old save in last and when I loaded the new save to try to change the language the names were back to normal before I even changed the language. I still took those 2 screenshot :
I guess the problem is fixed but I don't really understand why I had to quit and reload the game for it to be normal.
mons
I have no idea too 😕
Tolky
Also I was sure that when I tried to understand why I had the wrong names yesterday night I had to change between multiple saves and reload them quite a few times and never did it come back to normal. I just did some tests again but everytime I reload the game, either by changing save, going back to the menu or quitting the game it still come back to normal. Weird but ok.
Thank you either way and great job for the project in general 🙂

I downloaded the last update, the german national team players in my saved game are gone and also hansi flick gone
i had germany in my save game and it went away after i put the new patch in the files
If I start the new game with the new patch, there are germany national team players, but in my old game, the german national team was real, why did it break when i threw the patch?
I can add 23 people in the real squad to the German national team, but there are also 23 players without names, there are 46 players in total, I can play them as well.
How can ı fix this ??
It pisses me off so much I even thought of quitting my 5 year career and starting a new game just so please help
mons
From the main post:
Did you re-install this fix when 23.2 came out a few days back?
Also from the main post:
If you're the German manager, and you're trying to add/change players, you won't be able to do so until the next period for calling up players comes around.

Can someone help me please? I'm on mac and I followed all of the instructions, I'm sure. But I can't touch the ‘database’ function (see image). For me it is grey. What can I do?
mons
You haven't placed the editor data folders in the correct place. Can I see a screenshot of your editor data folder, showing clearly the full path?

Thank you for a great file - one small issue in England is that there is an “U21 Division 4” but this appears to be “The Central League”
"COMP_LONG_NAME_CHANGE" 2000217682 "U21 Division 4" ""
"COMP_SHORT_NAME_CHANGE" 2000217682 "U21 D4" ""
this should probably be deleted unless its for honours (there are also multiple divisions after this that are defunct)
"COMP_LONG_NAME_CHANGE" 95041301 "EFL Central League" ""
"COMP_SHORT_NAME_CHANGE" 95041301 "U23 Central League" ""
should be
"COMP_LONG_NAME_CHANGE" 2000217682 "EFL Central League" ""
"COMP_SHORT_NAME_CHANGE" 2000217682 "U21 Central League" ""
There is IRL a Central League Cup although that's missing from the latest update

Pardon my ignorance, but is it normal for the Colombian and Brazilian leagues to look like this (with so many “irregularities”)? Some with abbreviatons, some not, etc…
mons
I believe that, due to size restrictions, the 6-letter name is displayed in some screens when the short name is too long, as the above.
In fact, I think if you look at the competition pages, the “normal” short name are actually displayed.
Minipx11
You're right, thank you.
I play in 1080p at 95% zoom, but if I put it in 85%, some of the names show up as normal.
I might edit the “City, Club and Stadium Names.lnc” file because it triggers my OCD a lot. For example, I'd like to change “Club Athletico Paranaense” to simply “Paranaense” in the league table. Is that something you'd recommend? I might error-and-trial messing with the files to work out how and what they change.
But thanks, once again. <3

So i started a new save after the patch, but didn't realise the previous fix file didn't work normally before today when seeing the Germany national team. But now i have downloaded it, and can manage the likes of them and Japan. I guess the normal squad will be back to normal for the next matches?
mons
My recommendations are included in this file already. If you want to change something, it's up to you 🙂
It might be too short anyway, and you may need to edit them in the editor data file instead of the lnc file.
If you are in the middle of a save-game when you install this download, Japanese and German national teams will be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not immediately.

Hello everyone. I'm back. I will check. If there is new content that lacks Turkish translation, I can translate it again. Until then, you can consider that haven't seen what I have written. 🙂

hello guys
I follow every steps in YT and here in main page but still MAN UTD still not shown also the logo is not shown 😢
mons
It's a logopack issue, and has got nothing to do with this file.
Binabul_
yes, you are right, but I post it here because of the name still Man UTD
mons
Nothing wrong with that; it's been their short name in the game ever since I started playing CM3 in 1999.

Like I told you when you posted this last week, this has nothing to do with this download, so why are you posting this here?

Please don't post in here again unless it is something directly related to this download.

Obviously because I'm a new premium subscriber and unsure where to post, so I've got it in the wrong section!

@mons please can you let me know what has been updated for this new patch? many thanks for all your work

Good to know, thanks. For some reason the new FM update changed all my award names to their native language and I have no idea what half of the awards are for anymore haha. I'll learn Portugese/Spanish/French/Italian/German/Dutch etc etc soon.
