He was basically begging for a job on SSN just now, it was hilarious.

Weren't you calling for his head earlier in the season?

Yeah, he was.

Yea, I was. It was a love/hate thing.

I was about 14 when he took over so he's really the only manager that I've ever known. I'm immensely grateful for what he has done for this club.

If there's any justice at all, he'll never manage in the Premier League again. He's a pathetically bad manager nowadays.

His managerial career started off so well, for four years at Rovers so it was no fluke either. Everyone thought he was destined for the top.

But yeah, now I don't think a top-flight club would/should go near him.

Surely Swansea is a more steady ship financially than Everton?

I Doubt it. Everton have much larger revenues and wage bill. Swansea are debt free, but Everton debt level doesn't look too bad, and they do have the new PL deal coming in.

Although I really can't see why Laudrup would go to Everton, seems an unnecessary stepping stone. I reckon after next season he will be able to get a biggish foreign club. Schalke/Leverkusen/Valencia type club. Or maybe even higher. His playing career CV is excellent.

Mark Hughes' time at Fulham seems to have been completely forgotten, he was pretty average there.

Swansea's financial situation is among the best in the league. Everton's just isn't.

Swansea have a relatively low level of revenue. And from a manager's point of view having an extra £30m a year on the wage budget will be appealing.

Without the revenue streams, Swansea are potentially one bad season away from slipping back into becoming a Championship club again. Their 2012 accounts actually look quite similar to Wolves'.

Thank you.

I hope you get a good manager to replace him though and you continue being the only real team in Merseyside. It would be a shame to see you slide now after coming along so far

Please take Alan Pardew. We don't mind.

Yes I know this is wishful thinking on my part. In all seriousness it'll probably be Martinez - seems to be the way the wind is blowing in this market.

Pardew's record for the first two and a bit seasons is a lot better than Moyes' tbf.

Hope this at least distracts Martinez or the Wigan squad though.

I don't think appointing Roberto Martinez would be too bad a decision - I know his abilities are often overrated by the media due to his affable nature but he's done a great job at Wigan. A club of that size, with a limited fanbase and a tiny budget, should really be languishing in the lower half of the Championship, but he's kept them up in the Premier League against the odds each season and deserves credit for that. He's got a good amount of experience and an admirable footballing philosophy. I know some Everton fans complain about Moyes' long ball tactics and defensive play, so Martinez might prove to be a breath of fresh air and offer something new.

If I was an Everton fan, he probably wouldn't be my first choice but he certainly wouldn't be my last either.
