NEW Submission System
A new submission system for the SS Kits has been released. Please see this forum topic.
Footygamer
I've been working on importing all 323,763 previously uploaded kits into the new system. It's all working fine, but it's becoming clear to me that I think we need separate timelines per year as it starts looking like a really confusing mess with kits going back to 2010 and kits are not like faces and logos where the exact year doesn't really matter.
This hopefully won't be too huge an issue since the data update already has separate timelines per year but will take a little while longer.

@Footygamer @Qvordrup I was just looking through the timeline for the English kit and noticed that there has been some comments posted on kits in there requesting kits, I have directed the requester to the submission thread but I know if we want to close comments on the timelines\ kits that have been uploaded.
Qvordrup
I don't think we want to close for comments. To begin with we just have to make it very clear that it is not the place for requests. Ultimately just deleting the post if people don't understand the message. We have a place for requests.
I actually think that this is a general thing that we have to teach users (and be fairly strict about), we really don't want requests all over the place and people have to be patient or learn how to make kits them self. I believe that this is one of the main reasons that kit makers stop making kits. Also if anyone experience harassment or anything else by personal message please write here. I actually think we should begin to be fairly quick to warn users that don't understand that we do not want requests all over the place, and Ultimately ban them. I'm normally not this strict 🙃, but I really think this is a major issue with SS' kits project 🤨
DCarozzi87
That's fair enough, I wasn't sure, I will continue as I have today and advise them the kits are on Bolid's to do list and point them to the new place for requests.
yeah, I have a suspicion that the demanding nature of some users and no gratitude if a kit is made from a request they made may have driven some kit makers away, I know it is certainly the main reason that I stopped making Fantasy kits as I would put in my time into making the kits and people would not thank me or even click the thank you button at the bottom of the post. (am I missing something or can we not see who has used the thanks button)
I am too nice as well I politely warn some people a couple of times before giving an official warning.
Qvordrup
No we can not see who pushes the thanks button. If that is a function you want then you have to ask “footygamer” 👍
I think one warning in the forum thread and an official warning if that doesn't work is fine, then people usually listen. For the time being I think we have to set some examples for others users to see. If we are consistent in our communication and warnings I believe the problem will fade away 🙂

HUMBLE OPINION. After seeing this section for a while, the truth is that I don't like it very much, it honestly seems like a waste of time for those who do a specific search. If it didn't happen in the old section, I immediately had the answer. I already tell you that it is my humble opinion, it is that you have to look at one by one, I do not see it as practical, maybe I think I have to continue experimenting, but the first impression is boring and slow. the old one was more practical and fast. all the best
Qvordrup
Fair enough 👍 Any opinion counts 🙂 especially from someone who contributes a lot to the SS' section. But please give the system a chance, because it is in development, and the idea is also to help “hammer9” with the workload he has and this system allows you to do all the uploading by your self with out involving any body else. So please use the system a bit more before casting any final judgment, and instead of rejecting it please give concrete feedback on how we can improve and develop the system. @Footygamer will add new features and improve on the system over the coming month and lets give it until lets say december so we have some time to gather experience, and we can only gather info and experience on the system if we use it. Anything new takes time and effort to work properly.
“bolid74” has started to use the system and IMO the browsing system gives a quick and easy overview of kits made and the idea is that you upload the kits as you make them so people don't have to wait until the complete pack is finished:
https://sortitoutsi.net/graphics/browse/2/263
The ability to upload more than one kit at the time will vastly improve on the functionality of the system IMO and this function will be added very soon.
The browsing system will very soon be populated by all old packs made, and the ability to easy download packs straight from the browsing system will also soon be added 🙂👍
Footygamer
Can you explain what you mean by slow? Do you meaning the loading times are slow? Or it takes too many clicks?
Can you explain what it is you're trying to do, like are you looking to upload a kit you've just created? Or for a source kit to then create? Or a specific kit to download? Or to download an entire leagues kits? Or just to see what's new?
I really appreciate the feedback, but it's hard to know how to interpret it or improve anything when i'm not sure what your goals are when using it.
If you feel like it Loom is a really easy tool to record your screen and share it to give feedback, but of course no pressure to go to that effort.

I don't know if I should write this here, but I'm writing it anyway. Previously, when I looked at the jersey history of the clubs, I could find the jerseys of every club from every year. Now I have to download packages one by one and try to find out which one is correct. Is it possible to restore the old system? For example. I need Kartalspor jerseys now and I don't know what package they are in. Now I am trying to find Turkish league packages. Please make this easier for us.
Shooto
No. I am not referring to slow upload or download. It's just that it's slow to look at people's requests for kits one by one, I've already uploaded a few and it's very fast. because they are all mixed together, the bolid ones, the 3d ones, etc... I'm talking about the contribute tab
Qvordrup
The submissions system (contribute tab) are not meant to be used to look at other people's finished kits. You only use it to upload your finished kits and look for requests (source submissions) if you want to make them 👍, and it also serves as quality control of what goes in the browsing system (staff makes judgments and change the status from pending to active or rejected), in time people like your self and bolid74 kits will not need to have this quality control and your submissions will go straight in the browsing system. You do not really have to worry about that process 🙂
It is the browsing system (browse tab) you should use to look at kits (not many kits have been added yet, but that will change) 🙂👍:
https://sortitoutsi.net/graphics/browse/2
You can find all of bolid 74 submissions under england and premier league (and the other leagues he has been adding kits for):
https://sortitoutsi.net/graphics/browse/2/263
your strasbourg 23/24 2nd and 3th kits can be seen here under france and league 1:
https://sortitoutsi.net/graphics/browse/2/267
Qvordrup
This will happen very soon 👍🙂 All of the old packs will be added to the browsing system. It was only removed temporarily because of the new submissions system being implemented 👍
Qvordrup
@Footygamer Not to rush you in any way, but I hope you will very soon populate the browsing system with old packs and add the possibility to upload multiple kits at once (packs).
Because when that is done It think we need to make a new thread called “how the new submissions and browsing systems works (how to use it)”.
In there we need to explain how the submissions system and browsing system are linked together and what they are used for, and the hole process of how kits and sources gets submitted and then staff moderate them (quality control) and how they then end up in the browsing system if set as active.
Preferably with lots of screenshots and a couple of videos (language is a issue)

Oh it's great to know. Thank you so much. Love you guys <3
Footygamer
Yes it's my number 1 priority for this week, but will take some work to separate it by year without affecting cut outs/backgrounds/metallics so no promises if I don't finish this week.
I'm still not 100% sure how to handle downloading. I can add a download button next to leagues and teams. But when a league is slowly being built it would be nice to be able to have a button saying “Download new since X”.
Qvordrup
completely understandable 👍 please keep it simple and just add the functions so the system works. so just add a download button to leagues and teams and then you can develop on the system as we go along 👍🙂
Qvordrup
By the way I completely acknowledges the opinion that some like the old way better 👍 The new system is a tool just like a hammer or a knife 🙂 is has a very high degree of functionality, but might seem a bit cold and boring to some people (as it probably actually is), it is to be considered a workspace. But the fact is that the people that work on the different projects in their spare time on this site uses way to much time on it and tends to burn out. So the different submissions systems combined with the browsing systems is a great way of having all in one place and therefore hugely reducing the time spent on collecting and sorting and quality control different images, and the users do a lot of the work them self (uploading, making sure the submissions are connected to the right player/club/competitions ect). So it is very effective but perhaps not very fun and inspiring, and that is something we might have to work on in the future development of this site, but the experience with the systems in the cut outs and background packs tells us it has a great output in terms of getting great quality graphics to put in the game, and it is very sustainable in the way that many staffs and users share the responsibility of making the packs (more community based instead of one person running the hole thing). 🙂👍

Updates to the submission to include all historical kits as well as download options will go live on Tuesday (i'll have to take the entire website down for a couple of hours and I don't want to do that on transfer deadline day).
I'm still not sure how to handle downloads exactly since it's never been clear to me if the preference for manually made individual packs vs automated packs or megapacks is because think it would be too much effort to automate (it won't?) or some other reason. I also have to consider demand on the server vs shipping people off to mediafire.
In my mind it doesn't make sense to wait for an entire pack to be completed, people want and should be able to download whatever's available with options like “Download what's new since I last downloaded”.
But nobodies has ever seemed keen on that and persist with manually made individual packs.
I'd love to know if it's a misunderstanding or something to do with maintaining control or fear of losing the community vibes or what. As always i'm open to all ideas and feedback.

I've imported old kits since 2021. I can do since 2012 just stopping to test now.
Annoyingly there's a number of duplicate kits which have been uploaded that are almost identical but ever so slightly different. I don't know how useful it is having these in the timeline e.g. Bournemouth 2021
I also don't know exactly why they are slightly different, perhaps @hammer9 can explain?
Perhaps it's not worth having the same sort of timeline as cut outs and backgrounds and kits should have a totally different UI. Do people care if a kit has been iteratively improved? Probably not, or at least it could be hidden away under another click. It's hard to know without clear instructions on how it should look but I understand that for most people it's hard to envision how it should be ideally, they can only look at an example and say what's wrong with it. But as always, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Also annoyingly there are Retro kits that have been imported because they were posted in the wrong place here and they are now appearing here. I will have to clean this up manually. If everyone wants to keep the current pack system then this is likely going to happen a few times, so perhaps there needs to be a manual “import pack to submission system” button instead of being done automatically. But that just adds complications and makes it more confusing.
Going to add some downloading options now.
hammer9
i do understand about Retro kits…..i notice why 22/23 are old kits….we need to know what year these Bournemouth kits tho….put old year can help anyone to find on google for kits tho.
Footygamer
@hammer9 Did you see the previous comment? Retro kits are not meant to be in there that was a mistake because someone uploaded them to the wrong place and I said “I will have to clean these up manually”.
I also asked if there was any explanation to why there's so many seemingly identical versions of the same kit. Are there significant changes in there that are worth keeping that I don't have the eye for? Or do they not matter?
Also these counts are currently broken due to the move to splitting the browsing system into years, I don't know when i'll get the chance to fix this. Hopefully only a few days, these counts have proven difficult in the past due to the time it takes to calculate and affect on the loading speed.
For now i'll just hide them so it's not confusing.
hammer9
ok 👍
Footygamer
@hammer9
Also FYI everyone images aren't appearing right now and i'm not sure why just trying to fix it.Qvordrup
Not all the 2023 ( 22/23) kits are not showing in the browsing system.
2021 and 2022 seems to work 🙂

Fixed the 2023 kits
Qvordrup
@Footygamer could be nice to have the option to download one seasons national kits (each continent):
weeniehutjr
Should this pack just be set to archived (or rejected?) for now to at least make the actual 22/23 kits set as active?
weeniehutjr
Some kits are showing the same active kit twice, e.g.: https://sortitoutsi.net/graphics/browse/2/10767/timeline#submission_2661441

New feature in the browsing system and on main page (choose season/year):
