@Footygamer  I didn't explain myself well; I have already posted a real kit and it is now active. If I want to change it what should I do?

Just submit the updated one to the timeline, the original will then be deactivated when the new one is approved.

The program is currently in testing. I am hoping to make it cross-platform but as I don't have access to Mac or Linux I will be relying on feedback. From my own testing on Windows, the renaming and sorting functions seem to work well. I managed to rename 12000+ kits in a couple of hours, the average kit pack only takes a couple of seconds so I think it will be pretty useful. It covers every type of in-game graphic too, not just kits.

There should be the version of the actual database” the problem with this is that some people want to keep their kit folders from year to year so they at least have last years kit if the new kit hasn't been released. If we then release Luton in a Championship folder they'll still have last years Luton in a Premier League folder, it becomes a mess.

Also not everyone agrees it should be the version of the “actual database”, see here @bolid74 asked for it to be updated to the 24/25 database. If not everyone agrees what structure to use it seems impossible to use a structure?

“I have a very detailed order like” And again the emphasis here is “I have", your detailed order may not be the same as other peoples, who's preference do I listen to?

The original plan was to release a desktop app which would have solved these discussions by letting you rename and reorganise the files named by ID however you like, the reason it wasn't released is threefold (1) lots of other people promised they were releasing one but never did (2) I get distracted with people asking for work on other things like the data update and stopped working on kits (3) i'm scared FM25 is going to change things drastically so I don't want to spend weeks working on something that will be dead in a couple of months.

I know @xbenjaminx is working on one but I don't know if it will have the features we need to rename/reorganise kit folders.

Maybe i'll get another chance in the next few weeks we'll see.

Also in terms of reorganising. The version I currently have working on organises the kits into a basic graphics folder setup. It has limited customisation options but I am working on versions that will have much more. I just want to get the basic principles down and give the community something to work with.

At the moment what I have does the following:

Search for graphics - Links you straight to this site via the database section so you can get graphics and data
Rename graphics - Dump a graphics pack and it's config into the sort folder and it will rename everything by UID (and suffix where applicable)
Error check graphics - Performs basic error checking ensuring graphics are in the right format etc.
Write config - Write the config.xml file to get everything showing in-game

Sort graphics - Sorts the graphics packs into the correct folders to keep your graphics organised

Obviously there are limitations as this is still a very rough draft. As I mentioned, customisation options are somewhat limited at the moment but it will do the basic things to get graphics sorted and into the game quickly. I also promise to keep it up-to-date in terms of FM25 and subsequent releases being released because potentially such a tool will be really helpful

First, we can't serve everybody. It is a fact we can't deny. There is no perfect solution for everybody. This should not lead us to a “it is what it is”-kind of view. Given example is a problem in any case (besides the actual one) by the way and may be the only advantage.

Bolid asked for it, because it makes sense and it would be the “actual database” for 24/25 - which will be the standard once FM25 is released. Therefore actual releases for the “new” season will have to be in the “old” database as long there is no solution for the database-problem till release.

I just gave an example. The system before the contribution system was also kind of like that. It is not like I want to break a traditional system. I don't want to sound like my version is the best of it all, just maybe considering it would be kind of a good one to order things. It is a good base for both variants - people who want ordered stuff and people who want to keep older kits (in any case you have to do stuff, but in an unordered state people who want order have to do more, way more).

I don't want to blame you for anything, as it is not your fault if you trust in people and just want to have a good set of graphics. But, I guess we can agree on the point, that there is room for improvement.
