This file will need to be re-applied if/when official patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official patches come out.
Some of these changes, ESPECIALLY THE CLUB NAMES, do NOT apply in existing save-games. There's a workaround for that in the first post.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2024 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed, such as Premier League displaying instead of Premier Division. It will also fix the fact that the German National team doesn't call up real players. These fixes are all fully save-game compatible.
The following are not included in the beta version of this file. There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for Brazilian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian (including Napoli) and French clubs, as well as Manchester Utd, to circumvent licensing restrictions. It also adds real-life media and journalists, encompassing most major footballing nations and continents. Brazilian clubs' text colours are also changed through an editor data file. Another editor data file creates the Ajax non-playing staff missing from the database due to licensing restrictions. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all the files in this paragraph to work, however, you will need to start a new game.
Follow the below instructions to install this version of this file

The easiest way to get to these folders is by going to Finder > Go > Go to Folder and copy and paste these exact paths and you will be taken to the right places ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Football Manager 2024/data/database/db/2400/
Alternatively you can get to the Library folder by simply selecting Go from the top bar and holding "alt" key - The Library folder suddenly appears on the drop down menu

This should be what your editor data folder looks like now. There may initially be a config.xml file in this folder and it can be safely overwritten; it is generated by FM every time the game starts.
To make sure the files have been applied correctly, go to English Premier Division in your saved game, and it should be renamed to Premier League. If you are in the middle of a save-game when you install this download, German national teams will be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not immediately.
Club names are only changed if you apply the editor data files before starting a new game. For a workaround if you've already started a new save-game, then please read the opening post of this thread.

Sorry for the question, but do anybody know what the two japan files (japan.dbc and japan_loans.dbc) do at the …/dbc/permanent folder do? Why i have to delete them? Thanks for answering the question.

Hi, Im not very tech savvy and Ive installed the fix but when I go to start a new save the game say that I have a custom database thats the original one 24.0.0 and it wont let me change to a newer one. Should it be like that or have I done anything wrong? All the clubs have real names now so I should have installed it correctly but I dont wanna play on the original DB when there has been two patches.

sorry this might be a stupid question but, my Brazil club names have reverted bac to the 3 letter abbreviations. when i started the game with the real name fix they where correct however after the update they went back to the 3 letters.
Is there a way i can change this without starting a new game?

Your guess is right. This file does not edit player attributes. Never has, never will.
Delete the dbc, edt and lnc folders in the 2400 folder. Replace them with the ones from this download. It's that straight-forward…

I understand they're licensing-related, but I'm not exactly sure what they do.
You have a custom database because there are the editor data files from this download. All is good if they're showing 👍
Make sure your dbc/permanent folder looks exactly the same as it does in the screenshots in the main post. Close FM and Steam, and restart them, and they should look fine now.

Dutch Eerste Klasse is not having Zaterdag/Zondag anymore (Saturday/Sunday) and should be renamed. I've made a print of all Dutch rules so it's easier to copy paste as more leagues needed name changes and/or became extinct.

Brazilian league team names were corrupted after the last update. Even though I downloaded this updated file and installed it as instructed, the German and Japanese national teams do not appear and the Brazilian league team names have not been corrected. Anyone have an explanation?

Yes, you've probably installed this wrong. If you follow the video or installation guide, there won't be any problems.

I've noticed the same issue as a few other posters on here recently in that since the update the Brazilian teams are back to their 3-letter names. (Three teams, Vasco De Gama being one, still have their full name, and the league name is the real name also, but all the other teams are back to 3 letters) - (All other countries/teams seem to be fine).
I've tried a full reinstall of both the game & Steam, re-applied the name fix, started a new game & the problem still persists.

No, I went from FM22 to FM24. It is a brand new save on FM24.

Hey, I don't know if it's the fix's fault or not, but Christophe Galtier is not in the game and if you go to Ligue 1's manager of the season, in 2018-19 his name has a typo (Galteir). Leo Jardim is not present as well. I know both of them are coaching somewhere in Qatar/UAE or something like that, but other managers from this region are present (Bento, Nuno, Jorge Jesus, Jaissle, Frank de Boer).

It's got nothing to do with our file as such, but due to the fact that the latest official update seems to have made some changes to the Ajax data. However, I think I've identified the issue and will release an update to this file very soon 🙂
Galtier is in the game. If he isn't getting loaded, it'll have something to do with the setup of your career, not with this file. The spelling mistake in the awards for 18/19 is (probably) due to a data input error by the French researcher. I suggest having a word on the official forums' research bug reports thread if you want to get that fixed 👍

v2.1 now released, mainly to reflect the changes needed to the Ajax staff file in view of the changes made in the official update by SI. Thanks to @raumdeuter13 for making me realise it was needed 👍

Not with the main fixes in v2.1, unfortunately. I nonetheless suggest you install it anyway, so that it'll be in place if you eventually decide to start a career and forgot to install it before then 😉

Because, as stated clearly in the main post,
If you compare your screenshots to the ones in the main post, you can clearly see there are other files/folders in your system, which is why the fix isn't fully working as intended.

Any other files/folders that are there are either from your file or what the game has put there since the latest update. I haven't added anything myself.
