If you can translate and send me any articles about the league format, foreigner rules, fixture dates and times, etc. Otherwise I just can't research it sufficiently 🙂

Uploading a new version today as someone on the SI Games forums noticed a weird roster glitch, after January anyone with a high squad number (40+) was getting deregistered

can you update the leagues promotions/relegations please

No, because they expanded from 16 teams to 18 this season, which is reflected in my database. So 2 teams went down, 4 teams came up. Last season was crowded enough with all the tournaments and a 16-team league, and I'm not compelled that it's worth rejigging the entire thing for 18 teams when it wouldn't be a realistic representation of last season anyway.

If you want, just go into the pre-game editor and “swap” whatever two teams in (maybe winner and runner-up of first division), but the goal here is a realistic database and it starts in summer 2022 obviously, being FM23. Appreciate the suggestion though

For anyone who wants to play the realistic Saudi Arabian leagues updated to this 23-24 season, you can download my database, right here: https://sortitoutsi.net/content/63294/saudi-arabian-leagues-down-to-3rd-tier

Lol, can state unequivocally my file is more realistic in terms of dates, format, etc. It looks like he's added the third tier in basic rules, I suppose you could just copy and paste that into my file if you really want it.

Has this been uploaded now for that last time pal?  Not sure if you are waiting for all the windows to shut?  Many thanks

Yeah, transfers are done, and just made some small tweaks to get the big clubs to keep a larger squad of Saudi players. Seems to be working, don't expect any more big changes. Try this with my Arab Club Cup and Club World Cup files on Steam, great to have a bigger world for the clubs to play in (and try my international files to get more Arab comps)

Are you running the 23.4 database? They transferred him in the official data patches, I didn't need to touch him after the official January transfer update

Are you going to add this for FM24 any time soon?

Have you decided how to deal with the Saudi insane spending that is happening in the current game? Because, although they do overpay in real life, in the game, it feels insanely more when it comes to transfer fees. I mean contracts are a given but the transfer fees of 200m+ for even the ‘mid-tier’ guys means that the league might need a bit of restraint or the game will be quite broken.

Because this will be one of the most expected DBs for this year's game with the players and the money involved and how it affects the rest of the game.

Will probably add a version for FM24 soon. I expect they'll deal with the overspending in the first patch or so, probably not worth trying to fix that ourselves until they deal with it

I managed to load the 23 version into the 24 Db and verify… seems to be working ok so far… Or am is my save game destined to fail?

Nice! I think it should be fine. Does the first season have 18 teams in the Pro League? It switched from 16 teams in 2022/23 to 18 teams in 2023/24 but it should just skip the rules I have in there for 22/23 and start in 23/24 with 18 teams. That would be promising.

I don't have FM24 yet, but you might want to start a fresh game and sim (go on holiday) overnight or while you go out for a couple hours or something, just to make sure it runs through to 2028 and beyond with the league and cup finishing every year and sending the right teams to Asian Champs League

Hey mate, i read you got Fm24 and see you are updzting this file. How is that going ? Do you notice any major différence compared to fm 23, what with the saudi spending spree and huge salaries ? Just curious

Saudi league has a BUG? I found out that Al Ahli, Nasser, Hilal, Al Ittihad, these four teams, AI will not sign local Saudi players. I tested it a few times and by 2025, local players only use U18 players. Other Saudi teams did not see the problem.

Yeah, same as in FM23. I tried so many solutions last year and couldn't come up with anything. Unfortunately the big leagues in the Gulf are unplayable after one or two transfer windows due to the default transfer AI.

My best guess is those teams are targeting such high-profile foreign players, the AI gets confused and labels all their domestics “surplus to requirements” because it thinks it can do better. In default leagues like England and Brazil, it can find replacements - here, of course, they can't find anyone suitable and end up playing 16 year olds. It's why I stopped editing this further and lost my enthusiasm to port over most of my FM23 projects like the Qatar league, King Salman Cup, Gulf Cup etc. Huge disappointment but it makes sense, the default transfer AI is optimized for playable leagues and this is an unfortunate casualty

Hey, thanks for the insight. I would like to understand a bit more and go broader.

So what you're saying is that, if I don't plan to manage in “unplayable” leagues (that are not in the default playable leagues/database, but that we can add through mods), I should not bother having these leagues in my save, because the transfer/squadbuilding AI will be so bad the league competitiveness will be nonexistent?

I think the problem is mostly located to leagues like Saudi Arabia where the AI is seeking such high-profile players. The game developers haven't also made them sufficiently account for Saudi players in their squads, so the computer-controlled managers end up dumping them all.

In general, the AI gets worse as time passes, and it's particularly bad in leagues like MLS and Australia (which are default “playable” leagues) because they have restrictive roster rules like a salary cap. So it's not an issue of created leagues necessarily, it's an issue of the way the game handles transfer strategy being incompatible with the top Saudi clubs being in a playable league

Hello there , first time posting , anyways i’ve been trying to find a solution to the AI squad building for the top clubs in Saudi plus them not buying local players , the only thing i could notice is that any clubs that has a club owner as rich benefactor “foreground” has that problem , even when i apply that to a 2nd or 3rd tier club its the same problem , but when i put the owner as a “background” benefator it gets much better , but the big clubs dont sign really high reputation players , so its a bit of a mess , dont know of if that helps

Cheers, thanks for the help. I'm reluctant to implement anything that reduces the big 4 transfer activity so much as that's one of the fun parts about playing in Saudi. To be honest I spent way too much time on the Gulf files last year only for this transfer stuff to make it unplayable after a couple of years, and with that happening again but even worse, I've kind of moved on from editing in the region. More likely to delete this due to all the issues than spend any more time on it

Good evening! The link to the kits on FM Slovakia is broken.

Edit: I realized the kits are zipped into the file. My bad, sorry!

I’ve fixed the saudi league problem to an extent , put the rich clubs with “background owners” instead of “foreground owners”  plus ticking the box where they increase their finances , and bumped their reputation to really high levels , increased their balance , transfer budget and remaining wage budget , and increased the reputation of the leagues a bit more , its the best that can be done and makes even lower league clubs with rich finances like Neom and Al-Ula do well in transfers

increased the reputation of Qatari and UAE clubs as well , with changing them to background owners , so they can have better squads too

@yazeed1986 that's cool, they don't rush to drop local/domestic players as much? Did you have to do anything with player rep/CA/PA?
