Bad news for Spanish teams. This trick still works for some webs (Alavés, Rayo, Cádiz…) but most of the webs who used to have that design moved to another design. And it looks like the new images aren't big enough to make 250x250 cuts anymore. Plus they used now that shitty .webp thing. 😢

You can get the image without the .webp extension by removing these parts of the image URL, but unfortunately it's still the same image size.

I did try and play around with the URLs - I found that they do use “original” instead of “xlarge” for a banner ad, strangely, but unfortunately replacing that in the other image URLs doesn't work.

It's me again. And this time with good news. Let me explain.

Some webs have a new design (the one with smaller pics, and .webp and all that). BUT apparently only affects to the pics exported from LaLiga. New ones are pretty big. 

I'll use my local team (Real Oviedo) to explain. 

You want a pic for Borja Bastón? You got this tiny .webp thing: Pic because he already has a bigger one in LaLiga web. But… what if you want a pic for Charbel, the Right Fullback from Vetusta (Oviedo's second team). You got this huge .jpg: Pic 

I checked othe webs (Granada, Valladolid) and the same happens. Sizes vary for each team, but they're bigger than the previous ones. Not all of them are updated though.

I've noticed that La Liga has some decent quality images for cutouts on their site (ie https://www.laliga.com/en-GB/player/carlo-ancelotti), but opening the images will either reveal a 256x278 or 512x512 image depending on where you click on them, even though they are really stored at 2048x2048, you just have to make a couple adjustments to the URL (more than changing the dimensions). For the most part I see people have been submitting the 2048x2048 ones but I've noticed a couple ones which aren't, and I imagine it must be annoying for everyone to manually edit the URL (although maybe people are just finding the 2048x2048 ones on Google).

I'm preparing a Montpellier save and just figured out that some players from the reserve team already have faces in FM24 (without the facepack) but those are not exactly “sharp” - as most implemented Ligue 1 cutouts direcly implemented by Sports Interactive do. Here's an example :

Does someone know where to get high-quality 23/24 Ligue 1 photoshoot assets? The DAZN website does not include some players for some reason (and has not even been updated for the new season yet), and Sorare does not seem to have the rights to include some French teams on its website.

If not, do you know if it is possible to directly extract the Sports Interactive cutouts, so that I may increase the sharpness a bit for the facepack?

It really doesn't change so much because the pics are still small, but in Real Madrid's site, you can change the string 380 to 550 to have slightly bigger pics

First of all, I believe that a fair few U17 World Cup players have been cut recently, since the release of the most recent update pack, so do check the players' timelines before collecting images for them to save yourself the time and effort doing something which has already been done.

Real Madrid updated their web. However, pics are still the same size (550 x 650). A 180x180 cut is possible, but no a 250x250. That trick no longer works, though.
