They put sponsors on the replica kits, the greasy bastards.

I hope they won't create a crap third kit as last season. That shit looked like Blackburn's wannabe home kit. And I hope they bring in the stripped socks, I loved 'em.

Yeah it's fucking annoying, but can't do much about it unfortunately, still a nice kit though tbh.

I don't think the Liverpool one is that bad. Chelsea's look really nice. Mata looks as if he's just murdered cookie monster though.

The away kit's quite alright.

Agreed on the home kit though - it is pretty shite.

I just can't understand the thinking behind the Liverpool away kit. There must have been a lot of people who had to approve it - did no one notice how awful it was?

At least their kit isn't 'intrinsically Liverpudlian' or something stupid.

More to the point though, how much do you reckon a bad kit actually affects sales? I reckon 95% of people who are going to buy a shirt are going to buy regardless of design. They just want the current shirt.

Maybe a really, really shit shirt can actually help drive sales a bit. I'd imagine quite a few people would want the Liverpool shirt as a sort of novelty factor, as it's unique, who maybe don't get around to buying a nicer, but blander shirt.

No person of sound mind would pay $130 for that Liverpool away kit.

The Chelsea away top looks a bit like a Netherlands away top a few seasons ago which I had until the red stripe merged with the white giving me a pink bit at the top. Done me a few years for fives though.

As for horrible kits, Partick Thistle's salmon/grey effort and the camouflage number did very well in sales, due to the fact they're both completely different to anything else. I know a few fans who bought them due to the novelty factor, and they sold to fans in Australia and Canada (to name two) too, and seemingly that was really big news for us.

I've never bought a club kit, didn't see the point. I always think people who walk around in town with a club kit on look stupid, and they're asking for trouble sometimes, if they're wearing the wrong kit in the wrong place - ie, a Portsmouth kit in Southampton city centre on or around derby day. I could understand why you might wear one when you're actually going to the game or around the house, but £40's a lot for a casual top, really.

Not sure if you have ever been to a football ground but they don't leave them on seats before the match for you to wear...

But the amount of fans at a stadium is a tiny percentage of any clubs fan base for the most part
