I doubt we'll go through with it- all a publicity stunt to show how much the club is struggling financially. We need 100k before August or we'll go bust.

PA - apparently we're in talks with Adam El-Abd. I can only really remember him from when we beat you at Oakwell this year. He had a shocker.

He's generally solid but when he has a bad game, you know about it. I've heard that rumour too, not sure how much there is in it.
New manager. Very excited.

The pay to play deal has been taken down as I thought . Good bit of media attention to show our financial situation.

We actually signed a player. 35-year-old Gareth Roberts signed on a one-year contract after being released by Derby. He's a left-back so that's good as we don't have any left backs left

Also re-signed Euan Holden after he played here on non-contract terms. Another on to be announced soon (next 30 minutes or so) according to our official twitter

Third signing is Ashley Grimes!

He sounds good and Crewe have always produced good players, hope we can get him. The signings we've made so far have actually been pretty sensible, although anything is sensible compared to last summer's policy of buying half-motivated has-beens and never has-beens from the Premiership on huge wages. We've signed Patrick McLaughlin after his release from York. Cracking signing. Former Newcastle youth team player, great left foot.

After signing Euan Holden, Gareth Roberts and Ashley Grimes yesterday, we bolstered our squad furthermore with the signings of Greg McDermott and Nathan Cameron today. We also appointed Fred Barber (ex-Notlob) as goalie coach and signed David Tivey from Everton (recommended by Phil Neville) as a fitness and conditioning coach. David's arrival means that for the first ever time this club has a full time fitness coach. We are also getting a new gym wihch is currently being built, we are talking to the council at the moment to get involved in town and schools a lot more and we are targetting 2000 sold season tickets with more than 1400 being sold already.

For the first time ever supporting this club, I have the feeling we are being well run. New board is talking business and they treat us like one. They want Championship facilities and sound very eager and keen. They put up a 5 year plan and want gates of 5000 along with Championship football.

Also our entire Fan forum has been put on Youtube. Unbelievable stuff there. Basically the club was 48 hours from folding. Very interesting stuff this.

Flicker has said he's spoke to him but it's not something he (El-Abd) wants to go forward with, at the minute. Sounds like he wants to see if he'll be in the plans of your new gaffer before deciding anything.

Signed Andy Procter from PNE today. Fairly happy with this. Schuey type of player.

Anyway, we're playing Otelul Galati in a friendly tomorrow, a fixture which will be shown on Romanian TV. Not even a joke

Both Will Grigg and Jamie Paterson have both left to Brentford and Nottingham Forest respectively.

So we have no strikers at the moment....

Forest have just signed Jamie Paterson from Walsall.

Whats he like Rick?

He's energetic and hardworking with fair pace, not the greatest finisher in the world but I'm sure with your coaching set up that will improve.

Apparently Real get 5m£ for this friendly.

Oh by the way, Bournemouth were put into administration and were deucted 15 points only 5 years ago. Just a thought...

I think in these types of friendly games the clubs generally agree on what type of teams will be put out, and that generally depends on the fee being paid to the bigger club. Generally. For example last pre-season Warnock does what he always does and brings his teams down to Cornwall and they played a local side, Bodmin FC. Leeds put out a more second-string squad because Bodmin refused, shortly before K/O iirc, to meet Leeds' new demands for the first team.
