FM26 Real Data Updates

Subscribe to this thread (by following these steps) so you get notifications whenever a new version is released.

If you have any issues, first read the FAQ.

This file will need to be re-applied if/when official patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official updates come out.

Club names are only changed if you apply the editor data files before starting a new game. For a workaround if you've already started a new save-game, then please read the opening post of this thread.

The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2026 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed. It will also fix the fact that the German National team doesn't call up real players. These fixes are all fully save-game compatible.

Follow the below instructions to install this version of this file.

Once you download this file, you’ll see these folders after extracting the ZIP:

STEP 1.

If you are playing an FM23 or FM24 save in FM26, then this fix needs to be also installed in the folders in the below image IN ADDITION TO THOSE INDICATED BELOW the image:

You have to click “show packaged contents” on the fm.app and game_plugin.bundle folders. This basically means that you need to right-click (or Control + click) on fm.app (or game_plugin.bundle) and choose Show Package Contents that lets you open up the folders inside the app icon.

Here’s how to do it on Mac:
1. Open Finder.
2. Press Command + Shift + G to bring up “Go to Folder.”
3. Copy and paste this path, then hit Enter:

~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Football Manager 26/fm.app/Contents/PlugIns/game_plugin.bundle/Contents/Resources/shared/data/database/db/2600

Once you’re in both the db/2600 and db/2620 folders, that’s where you drop the real name fix files and don’t forget to restart FM afterwards so the changes take effect.

COPY the 4 files located in the EDITOR DATA folder in the downloaded pack

PASTE to \Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 26\editor data

This is also the same folder to be used for Gamepass.

Equivalent folder for Mac

Follow these steps to correctly place the editor data folder for Football Manager 26 on macOS.

1. Open Finder.

2. Press Command (⌘) + Shift + G to open the Go to Folder window.

3. Copy and paste the following path, then press Enter:

~/Library/Application Support/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 26/

4. If you don’t see an editor data folder, create one manually.

The folder name must be exactly:

editor data

(all lowercase, with a space)

5. Make sure the editor data folder is inside the Football Manager 26 directory. Not in Documents, Public, or anywhere else.

6. Place the downloaded .fmf files (for example, from the Real Name Fix or other mods) into this editor data folder.

7. Restart Football Manager 26, and when starting a new game, ensure the files are ticked/selected under Database → Editor Data Files.

He already answered it, the pre-game editor has its own set of dbc, edt and lnc folders you need to copy the fix over to so it shows up in the editor as well.

I have noticed one little thing. Under English female competitions you have lines for the Women's U21 leagues:

It still appears the same in the English version. LALiga 2 is LaLiga Hypermotion. LaLiga is LaLiga EA SPOTS. The first federation still hasn't fixed it.

I'm afraid the issue is entirely your end.

Check to see that your folder contents are exactly the same as the ones in the main post.

I see what you mean, but in this file, I've always had the full name with the sponsor as the long name, and the short name being the one used in casual conversation.
I understand were your coming from for one example it doesn't work

129375 Irish Senior Challenge Cup can actually apply to either the FAI Sports Direct Cup & Clearer Water Irish Cup. because are both Senior Challenge Cup's with the Clearer Water Irish Cup predating the FAI .

As someone who eats & sleeps Irish League Football (IFA) from Elite to Grassroots I know the difference between them but say someone playing a Journeyman save may not know

it won't work on MAC - it gives an error when you make this changes when you want to launch FM in steam. any workaround for this?

It works fine on Mac, you're just not installing it properly. Read the installation instructions again, and follow them carefully.

This fix works. There's a screenshot at the top of the thread showing Napoli being displayed correctly. It'll inevitably be something you've done wrong which leads to it not working 😕

Not a pain at all. There actually wasn't an entry for this competition - I'll include it in the next version 👍

This fix is the exact same. Its the game which changed 😕

For some reason, this part of the fix doesn't fully work in languages other than English if not applied before starting a new game.

@kad38, no need to tag me in another post too.

This year, the pre-game editor doesn't read the data from the dbc, edt and lnc folders in the main folder, but has its own dbc, edt and lnc folders. Just copy the ones from the game into the respective Football Manager 26 Editor folder, and it'll work 😉

No idea what you're talking about here, sorry. Give me more info to help me help you, ideally with screenshots.

As per the FAQ, if you are in the middle of a save-game, national teams will only be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not immediately. Just wait till the next call-up window, and the national team manager will start calling up players again.

The short name for that team and for all French teams are is already in the file. And I'll try to add their 3 letter name fixes in the next release too 😉

The logos issue has got nothing to do with this download.

Competitions and teams have both long and short names which are displayed in different pages in-game. I'm not sure I can identify what the issue is in these screenshots. Is it the TND shortcut instead of Tondela?

If you try using LaLiga Hypermotion as the short name, I think that should fix it. It should display correctly

But that's not the short name 😕

You've not installed the fix correctly then. Read the installation instructions again, this time paying careful attention to steps 4-5.

oh yeah i was using quick start so its not working before

Yes it work, use advance setup dont use quick setup

I really don't have the time to experiment around, sorry. Why not try to change it yourself?

Read this.

Open the lnc file with Notepad. Find the line for Spanish competitions, and make the necessary changes 👍

Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Football Manager 26\shared\data\database\db\2600

I only get to: Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Football Manager 26\

There's then no other folders other than the actually Football manager game

copied the wrong path, I meant:

/ Users / username / Library / Application Support / Steam / steamapps / common / Football Manager 26 / fm.app / Contents / Plugins / game_plugin.bundle / Contents / Resources / shared / data / database / db / 2600

Thanks, mate! Editing it in Notepad and using the short name makes a difference.
