I saw something been mentioned earlier, but is there going to be a version of the current "View New Content" link on the 'new' forums?

Yeah there will be, Wednesday is my current timeline for everything moving over and it'll be included in that update

Rob, it's broken

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/ZzYIqftfyccTXEdtCEUgNkbX6XahsdgZVFGGPelc.png

Happened after clicking on the thread title from the main page i.e. the get_unread_comment link

Is it still like that? It looks like you hit page 15 when you shouldn't have, maybe because it was the first post of page 15, but there's no way to test that at the moment

EDIT: Think I fixed it, the "could older comments" function wasn't checking if comments had been deleted or not

I just had the same thing Slashman had in the Night Thread as well. It put me onto page 16, I went back to the first page of the thread and then there was only 15 pages in the thread.

Don't know whether that helps or not.

EDIT: The comment count on the Night Thread was at 300 then

Topic titles on main page don't take into account edited titles. This was renamed to the Golf Thread and it shows that title in the topic.

This is fixed as soon as someone posts in topic after the title was changed

It'd be helpful if you all posted these in the bug reports topic under announcements

I thought I fixed the page count thing but i'll look into it again.

Put my opinion in the Night Thread instead.

Feels better there. I'll be honest, it's growing on me verrrrrrrryyyyy sloooooooowly. The term "If it ain't broke......" does come to mind though.

You're clearly retarded if you think people who use that term apply it in its literal sense to every aspect of life.

As an all-encompassing philosophy? No they don't. People are always going to want the shiniest, newest product even if their current one is perfectly acceptable. That's not to say in some instances they won't want to change because they're happy with what they've got (if it ain't broke, don't fix it).

So they are going to want the newest things unless they don't?

A phone is totally different to say, an xbox pad for arguments sake, my XBOX Pads analog sticks could be worn, but that wouldn't make me go out and buy a new pad, or thumb sticks, however if my phone had a big scratch on the screen, then i'd replace it, because its effectively broken, only because its something i have to use every day, and can be prevented.

I used to have a Windows 98. But then it got to 2002 and I thought, wait a minute, I need to update my computer. It was working perfectly fine, it met its specifications perfect. But, I wanted a new computer. So, we went out and got an XP. I could have kept the 98, but we didn't, because we wanted to move onto bigger and brighter things.

But I don't agree with progress for progress' sake -- it has to be worthwhile and have a point. For instance, I didn't go for a Vista when it came out. I thought, no. My computer's running fine, I don't need a Vista. It didn't meet up in a cost:benefit ratio, I'm afraid. Just the matter of facts.

But when 7 came out, I thought, you know what? I skipped Vista, but maybe 7's good for me? So I now have a 7. But don't go thinking that once 8 comes out, I'm trading in this 7 for an 8. No. I'll wait a couple of years, then consider upgrading. Seriously, progress is great when you think it through, not run into rash decisions for the sake of it.
