This file will need to be re-applied if/when official patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official updates come out.
Club names are only changed if you apply the editor data files before starting a new game. For a workaround if you've already started a new save-game, then please read the opening post of this thread.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2026 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed. It will also fix the fact that the German National team doesn't call up real players. These fixes are all fully save-game compatible.
Follow the below instructions to install this version of this file.
Once you download this file, you’ll see these folders after extracting the ZIP:

STEP 1.
If you are playing an FM23 or FM24 save in FM26, then this fix needs to be also installed in the folders in the below image IN ADDITION TO THOSE INDICATED BELOW the image:

You have to click “show packaged contents” on the fm.app and game_plugin.bundle folders. This basically means that you need to right-click (or Control + click) on fm.app (or game_plugin.bundle) and choose Show Package Contents that lets you open up the folders inside the app icon.
Here’s how to do it on Mac:
1. Open Finder.
2. Press Command + Shift + G to bring up “Go to Folder.”
3. Copy and paste this path, then hit Enter:
~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Football Manager 26/fm.app/Contents/PlugIns/game_plugin.bundle/Contents/Resources/shared/data/database/db/2600
Once you’re in both the db/2600 and db/2620 folders, that’s where you drop the real name fix files and don’t forget to restart FM afterwards so the changes take effect.

COPY the 4 files located in the EDITOR DATA folder in the downloaded pack
STEP 5
PASTE to \Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 26\editor data
This is also the same folder to be used for Gamepass.
Equivalent folder for Mac
Follow these steps to correctly place the editor data folder for Football Manager 26 on macOS.
1. Open Finder.
2. Press Command (⌘) + Shift + G to open the Go to Folder window.
3. Copy and paste the following path, then press Enter:
~/Library/Application Support/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 26/
4. If you don’t see an editor data folder, create one manually.
The folder name must be exactly:
editor data
(all lowercase, with a space)
5. Make sure the editor data folder is inside the Football Manager 26 directory. Not in Documents, Public, or anywhere else.
6. Place the downloaded .fmf files (for example, from the Real Name Fix or other mods) into this editor data folder.
7. Restart Football Manager 26, and when starting a new game, ensure the files are ticked/selected under Database → Editor Data Files.

These 3 folders aren't the same as the ones in the main post, in fact. Whatever you did at 10.55am yesterday recreated the files/folders that are removed when installing this fix, and which are causing your issues. Remove your dbc, edt and lnc folders and put the ones from this download instead.

Yea,i see that now also.I did copy paste in this Folder also,but something went wrong and didnt apply it.Will repeat again and start a fresh game and check it again.Appriciate

Here's four screenshots. Loaded FM and started a new game AFTER adding the fix etc. and went on holiday until after the internationals to see if German players were called up or not. So I've carried out the changes as I have done many times following other updates in various versions but for some reason Napoli still don't have their real name.
Weirdly, I still have the issue with club badges, they show in the game but on the main menu/dressing room screen and when coming out at start of games no badge. See below screen shots following Newcastle United's FA Cup win (Despite crest for Newcastle and FA Cup showing in game)

Yes you are right, it seems Napoli and the Spanish teams aren't fixed for me, I have checked all the folders etc against the opening post of the thread and I can't see where I've gone wrong but I must have somewhere as otherwise AC Milan and Inter wouldn't have fixed.. and La Liga is called La Liga, so it's half worked half not

Screenshots of the folders attached, current save was working absolutely fine before SI's update. After update all changed, reapplied the name fix and as far as I can tell it's worked for all apart from Napoli and the Spanish Teams.

Follow the thread title guys please. Let's have screenshots of the folders in which you've installed the fix, showing clearly the full path please. Do you have an issue for an existing career or for one started anew?

I can't figure it out. I don't see anything wrong with your files, they've always worked for me for years etc. I've even reinstalled the game from scratch and tried it from there with the same result. SI have done something in the background to muck things up but I can't find any logic to it at all.

Same "problem" with me after their new hot fix... Missing logo on the locker room by the club menu... And same during ceremonies...
I've tried and re-entered 3.0 realfix without success... Napoli is now called Parthenope and Betis is Real Hispalis....

I don't know what the problem is for many people here. I simply download, delete what's in the game folders, copy the downloaded files there, move the files to an editor in the documents folder...
I start the game and I have Napoli with the correct name, Atalanta, La Liga. I did a test, started a new save and everything is fine.
I have the game via Steam, could that be why some people have it on another platform?

Any reason why everything works except for Betis and Zaragoza? I note that the changes are included in the lnc but in game they're still Hisplanis and San Sebastian?
This is a save game started with the original game but updated recently to 26.2.

Losing the will to live with this unfortunately. Have followed the guidance step by step but Napoli and various other Spanish teams still have fake names. Was working fine previously so am just at loss at what to do.

I mean, the installation process is basically the same in each fm. You delete all edt dbc and lnc folders from each 26.0, 26.2 folder and copy the ones from the fix.
AND you select all editor data files when starting a new game (it's important to click advanced setup).
And voila.

That’s what I mean, I’m so confused as to why it isn’t working. Been playing fm over 20 years and never had an issue like this.
i have effectively gone back to square one now, everything has been delete and it’s as if I’m installing for the first time. Do I need to apply the fix to both to 26.0 and 26.2? or can I get away with just 26.2 given that I will only be using that one.

This is the problem I've been having on my Mac as well. @mons took a look at screenshots of the folder structure and couldn't see any issues either. I've reinstalled the game, reapplied the fix. Each time I start a new game, it's like it just picks out some of the details and applies them, but not all of them. I've got one save where it seems like only La Liga and Atalanta have the wrong names and no Germany or Japan and another where all of the Serie A teams came up as fake. I can't understand it because I know it's not an issue with the fix files and I know they're put in the right place, but it just doesn't seem to work. Same with the graphics - I know this isn't the direct thread for it - but it's pulling some of them and then not others, and goes to the default logos in the dressing room etc.
EDIT - reinstalling it yet again seems to have finally woken something up. Steam was redownloading files that I'd deleted but it's not overwriting them anymore. Who knows?! It's working now and I can now continue to see Finn Jeltsch's international career bloom.
