The trailer for the remake of Oldboy looks as awful as you'd expect.

Even if that film is amazing it'll still be shit on by film nerds across the internet because the original was so good. For the record, I thought it looked perfectly fine, for a trailer.

I'm refusing to watch the trailer. I already have to find a perfect version of the proper Oldboy as the missus hasn't fucking watched it.

Speaking of, can't believe they made a sequel to it haha. Also wtf Brooke Hogan of the 6 projects she has been in 3 of them are about sharks and one is about teen cannibals.

To prove my point I have two bits of dialogue and a gif. major spoilers.

"They took my grandfather, so I really hate sharks." "Now I really hate sharks too."

"Instead of letting live sharks rain down on people, we're gonna get in the chopper and throw bombs into the tornados"

If that doesn't make you want to watch this movie, nothing will

Pacific Rim

Impressed by the action, less so by the ear-splittingly loud sound.

Spring Breakers.

Got really close to just shutting the thing down and do something else before Alien bailed them out of jail, minus the hilarious opening the first half hour felt like an eternity, then once Alien comes into the picture and the film takes off and things start to happen. On the whole a very interesting film visually but not much else.

Watched Pacific Rim. It's brilliant, expertly filmed and good summer action. It's everything Transformers isn't, I really, really enjoyed it.

The more I think about it, the more I want to see it again. I'm trying to understand why, it's just such a fun movie. The last time I actively rewatched a film was Drive and before that it the The Dark Knight. That's a hallmark of a good film, in my eyes.

Pacific Rim is a great movie, cinematics and all, although the two leads were kind of overwhelmed by more interesting and thoroughly better actors in the form of Elba, Perlman and most fantastically Charlie Day.

I really didn't like it that much, the action scenes are great, like really great, but everything else is really poor. I didn't believe in almost any of the actors apart from Charlie Day and maybe Idris Elba. I thought Charlie Hunnam was awful and that bellend from Eastenders was a fucking eye sore. Too many things in the film that I could pick out and say, "yeah, what the fuck?" that ruined it for me, and I understand you aren't supposed to take it seriously but it doesn't mean it has to conform to being so cliche and so predictable.

It felt like the sort of film I'll see on Channel 5 in a few years when I come in pissed and go, "lmao remember this?!"

Yeah. I'll admit I was pretty wasted when I was watching it and I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it half as much if I was sober.

Still love that crazy geek beaner Del Toro though. Pan's Labyrinth is the best movie of the 2000's so far.

Felt like watching Blade, so I went ahead and watched Blade. Now I'm going to watch Blade II. I love Blade, he's the best.

Maybe after I'll try to find a good quality copy of Pacific Rim, because I really want to watch it again.

Didn't care for Pans Labrynth tbh, but I would give all of my everything for him to make At the Mountains of Madness. It would be the only kickstarter I'd ever give enough of a fuck about to sign up and donate to.

The CGI in Blade is hilariously dated, awesome film otherwise.

I rather like it - like the perfect halfway house between Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, then turned up to 11.

Oblivion.

A beautiful film to look at that really makes the most of the possibilities sci-fi offers visually but sadly offers very little in terms of story.
