I went to see the Stone Roses movie tonight and loved it. Shane Meadows did a great job.

Is that the actual Stone Roses one or that Spike Island one? Cos there's two coming out right?

I saw After Earth last night. Was very average, wouldn't call it awful but it just wasn't that good.

It was The Stone Roses: Made Of Stone, which is all about their reunion tour last summer. Haven't heard about the Spike Island one.

What the fuck is up with Ethan Hawke doing all these godawful horror films these days.

That one about him being a non-fiction writer who goes to live in the house where murders take place is fucking outstanding for the first half. I think it's called Slither. Anyway, the first half of it with all the old school Super 8 footage is fucking gripping, whoever did the sound on that film should give themselves a pat on the back. Shame the ending is shit, but you can't win them all.

Watched The Longest Day, The Dirty Dozen and The Bridge on the River Kwai. It's been too many years since I've seen them and they're still all excellent in their own way.

I need more World War II though. Might watch The Pianist, I've never seen it.

Mean Streets.

Seeing Harvey Keitel and Robert De Niro as young men was weird as fuck.

Apparently there is hardly any blood because they wanted to keep the rating down. Fuck that, a zombie film with no blood?!

World War Z

This felt like 2 films in one. The first two thirds were quite a good film despite the lack of blood. The final third felt like it came from a shitter and lazier film, and I didn't like it.

If they're doing a sequel - which they almost certainly are - they need to work on making sure it feels like one movie, and making better use of its zombies.

See Snitch. Was not as good as I expected and lacked action especially fighting from The Rock
Carroll.

World War Z. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would and the special effects were awesome.
