Florida has a law which means you can shoot someone if you feel like you're in danger and get off scot free. I don't Zimmerman saw the black guy and thought "I'm going to have him" but it seems to me like he saw someome he thought looked a bit dangerous (not that I'm accusing him of being racist but...) then panicked and shot him. By the laws of the state, he thought his life was in danger so he shot him.
The fact that he was actually unarmed and there was no kind of struggle makes it seem a bit weird but in this case, Zimmerman didn't actually do anything illegal. But there's a stupid law in Florida that allows this kind of thing to happen. And it will happen again, no doubt. It probably already has.

No struggle? Apparently he was on top of Zimmerman punching him and smacking his head into the ground (backed by marks that show this and police pictures of his marks) also the shot taken was from a position that give weight to Martin being the aggressor. Since when was beating someone up the correct course of action for them following you anyhow? Martin was said to have reached for Zimmerman's gun and said he was going to kill him but never got to it (which explains no DNA on the gun) as that is when Zimmerman shot him. I would say that is fine, if true.

If you believe what someone who's been accused of murder with no witnesses has said in court, then yes that's what happened.

There was witnesses involved though. Even prosecution witnesses said they could have been mistaken when they claimed they heard a boy shout. Also then factor in the gun shot trajectory and it is very believable given the jury think so as well.

Because Zimmerman was following him like a prick. Trayvon Martin is a known violent drug user which was not used in the court room for some reason.
