Are you de Jong in disguise?

I must say, two teams with pretty horrible kits.

Thought Sheffield United were excellent, looked similar to Moyes' Everton. Thought Westlake was extremely good at RB.

Look like they probably need a better striker though.

Thought they looked very average for a side who will be looking for automatic promotion. Didn't create enough chances against a makeshift defence, and were pedestrian in the final third, with shortcomings covered by their dominance of possession. Until the last five minutes they created bugger all in open play. They lack a creative midfielder and a quality striker, at the very least. Probably need an injection of pace to give them another dimension as well.

Shot doesn't equal chance. I mean created real goalscoring opportunities where they saw the whites of the goalkeeper's eyes. How many of those shots were pops from outside the box or as a last resort after being crowded out? Granted, they had a handful of crosses that flashed across the box, and once Notts were tired in the last five minutes they were able to create more, but for 85 minutes they created next to nothing. They scored, Porter missed a sitter, that was it from open play. A number of times Doyle lined one up from outside the box, or they passed it about trying to find an opening. How many times was the keeper tested? Not enough, in the circumstances.

Pretty much agree with this. Sheffield looked very dangerous every time they had the ball but ended up doing long shots many times and just couldn't create that many clear cut chances as you'd expect form a side pushing for promotion. However, I wouldn't be too critical just yet. It was David Weir's first ever game as a manager and the team will need a bit more time to understand and implement his ideas. On another night, Conor Coady's and Febian Brandy's shots at the end of the game go in and then it's 4-1 instead of 2-1, so they could have won it by a bigger margin, though

I was judging Sheffield United's performance more as a work in progress, so was being a lot less harsh. That said most of your criticisms were pretty fair.

I thought the midfield three controlled the game well and the full backs supported very well, and Brandy looked dangerous, if the find a rhythm I think they could be title challengers.

Actually shitting myself for today's game. We're playing one of the main promotion contenders Chesterfield and to be honest I've no idea how we're gonna line-up for this. Danny Mayor signed for us on loan from Sheffield Wednesday yesterday and became our 18th signing this summer, with 18 leaving the club aswell.

This is how I think we could line-up

Carson
Beeley - Hinds - Cameron - Roberts (c)
Mayor - Soares - Proctor - Jones
Harrad - Grimes

In all honesty I just can't wait to finally kick-off again

Punished for the only lapse of concentration in the game. Better side in a first half of few chances, and started the second the brighter, but got done when we just didn't track the underlapping runner into the box. Up to then we'd had probably the only two real chances of the game, Paterson taking an air shot eight yards out and Vaughan forcing the only real save of the game out of the keeper. Encouraging signs for Town, with Hogg looking like something of a midfield general and being comfortably the best player on the pitch.

Rovers kick off in 45. Rochina and Rhodes upfront which I'm really happy about. Defence looks strong too, midfield less so. Come on Rovers!

I really don't get this bizarre back-of-shirt hoop thing Derby's kit has.
