The actual game sounded a bit less entertaining than that tbh.

Love hearing Pardew whinge about defensive injuries when he sent probably our 2nd best centre back out on loan to Roma because he didn't win a few headers against Lukaku.

Nice of him to realise Cabella is our most creative player too, better late than never I suppose.

Burnley must be awful though, the team we fielded last night was extremely average.

I don't get why Cabella hasn't started again, I'm not saying he's our best player etc but surely a game against Burn;ey is the kind of game where he'll find space, create and scare defenders which I think he pretty much did once he came on yesterday.

Ayoze was a bit indifferent last night, hope he's not getting a bit ahead of himself due to his decent form and the hero status he's had for a few weeks.

Poe - I agree with you about Pardew's comments too, it would have been nice for a reporter to fire that back at him... and then get banned no doubt

I really don't see what everyone sees in Sammy Ameobi, Cabella is twice the player he is and then more.

So yeah, Newcastle have lost their third choice keeper now due to a shoulder injury. Ridiculous.

I've seen you might apply for an emergency loan, there probably won't be too many available for loan but it'd be a better option than throwing one of the kids in - particularly a 17 year old.

We've (annoyingly) frozen Robbo out because we're in the sh*t, he'd be good but don't know if he'd be an option.

We'd go for Mark Scwarzcer surely?
Or Shay Given/Brad Freidel?

Would be happy with any of those 3.

Alnwick is reputedly fit enough to play on Saturday, so I'm guessing we'll be playing him.

Hopefully we won't be trying to protect his goal with Williamson again, or trying to attack with that useless lump Gouffran.

Aye, bit of a nightmare but hopefully everybody will get behind him.

I'd go with this in a 4-3-3 for Sunday, if Gouffran or Sammy plays it's clear Pardew is setting the team up not to lose rather than to win.

Alnwick

Janmaat Taylor Coloccini Dummett

Colback Tiote Sissoko

There's a stat that in all 11 games we've lost this calendar year by three or more, Mike Williamson started all of them. Doesn't say great things about his ability in defence... seeing as Pardew clearly doesn't rate MYM, either a new CB is needed or Paul Dummett should be played as a centre-back.

Pardew will probably still play him against Sunderland.

Ridiculous not rating MYM - the guy clearly has talent and just needs time to gel into the physical nature of the Premier League. He's shown at literally every club bar this one he's an excellent centre back. Doesn't help playing him left/right back all the time either.

I don't think Dummett is that bad in the centre tbh.

The Pardew Out crowd has been woken up by the week just gone.

I'm not wholly on board, but the stat we've lost 20/38 Premier League games since Boxing Day last year and failed to score in 19 of those 38 is pretty shit.

Pardew's brand of football isn't really going to bring any sustained success so it's no real surprise. There's no philosophy or playing style.

The team he put out yesterday was poor, his subs even worse and the strategy was awful. Setting up for a draw against a team like Sunderland at home is criminal.

It's amazing how he's managed to stay in charge for so long

I'm more bewildered the media still supports him, even though its clear he's reached the end point at least four times. He probably would've left by now if the albatross of that fucking 8 year deal wasn't in place.

He's led relegation favourites Newcastle to two top ten finishes and a European Cup run. Despite having shit players, no money, shit owners, being undermined, JFK, setting up to lose every game, Luuk de Jong, playing every player out of position and refusing to play and selling all the players who are actually of PL quality due to his jealousy of them.

A Maverick genius.

If you believe the rumours, we may not need to have the Pardew in or out debate for longer. Pardew failed to show up to the post-match pressers amid a rumour Crystal Palace have been given permission to talk to him.

It doesn't really make any sense, unless he's been told to go. But gut feeling is there might be something in this.

Fwiw pre-match he seemed to be on the pitch and just looking around, which looked as if he might be away. I didn't notice how he acted during or post-match though.

Its a very strange one. I know I have been unimpressed by him frequently in 2014, but back in August when Pulis resigned, he said he didn't want the Palace job, and I was expecting him to remain for a little while longer under his own accord. So I'm surprised such a rumour has surfaced and so quickly.

I'm not sure Palace is the best place to go to get away from it, but I can completely see the attraction of getting away from a fan base that's never warmed to him, a club that doesn't give him and money and sells his best players from above him and Mike Ashley.

There's a strange question in it for Crystal Palace. According to the Guardian, it'll cost £6million to buy out his contract and there are people available without clubs right now.

It might not be too bad for Pardew. He is held in esteem by them for his cup heroics in 1990, and he (apparently) personally knows Palace chairman Steve Parish, who probably won't be as pain in the arse a boss to work in as Mike Ashley.

Chronicle seem to suggest Pardew is politicking, but I'm not really sure how you can politic at Newcastle, or what he hopes to gain from it. More control over transfers?

I know the fee bandied around is £6m but that seems ambitious. If there is a break clause it seems like it would probably cut both ways.

De Boer as favourite to take over from him too, which would be fantastic.

Pardew leaving and us getting £6m for the privilege would be amazing Just can't see it happening unfortunately.

Can't complain about Pardew playing players out of position then want De Boer. It's illegal.

Tuchel not even on the longlist odds either. Gary Rowett would maybe be my personal punt in the dark.

De Boer would bring a definitive style and strategy though, and wouldn't be playing people out of position for no reason.

I'd like Laudrup too, or maybe even Glen Hoddle. Wouldn't fancy Hughton back, or Kinnear, Bruce or Shearer.

Pulis would be an alright choice, especially given as his biggest weakness would be papered over by having Graham Carr to help him out in the transfer market.

Mail Online is claiming he wants to move after being told by Ashley no money was available for players in January. Which is a bit dim given we need a player or two regardless of who's picking the team.

Aye, can see good managers being put off by our huge prat of a chairman. Shame. Looks like even shit ones like Pardew have now had enough Although if it's true that this is all politics then it's nice to see Pardew finally grow some balls about squad strengthening.

We're crying out for a proper winger and a centre back.

Palace sources and the Daily Mail claiming a deal is done with a £2million compo package, Newcastle sources claiming he is going to be in charge for the game on New Year's Day. Clear as mud.

In terms of potential replacements, its not going to be Pulis - he fell out with them over transfers and I really doubt he would want to work with Ashley. If its true de Boer turned down Spurs, I doubt its going to be him either. After that, the bookies favourite is making Coloccini player-manager, which would be a perplexing idea.

Be someone shit, no doubt - Pardew was a huge problem but Ashley is bigger.

It'll be Ally McCoist or Sherwood or something.
