Alexis Sánchez's future took a decisive turn just a few days ago. For the Chilean, it was more than clear that his cycle with Barça was over after the events of last season, his preferences were always set on Italy. However, in Brasil, right in the middle of the World Cup he received an astonishing visitor. Coach Arsène Wenger asked to have a meeting with the player to show him his desire to incorporate him to the Arsenal ranks this very season.

Wenger convinced Alexis. He explained the benefits of a club like Arsenal and the premiership. He also assured him we would have no trouble adapting to a city like London or English football. Arsène also committed to put forward the necessary money to make Alexis' exit from Barça as smooth as possible. No need for any useless lowballing, like Juventus' laughable offer for the player.

Arsène knew to show the right appreciation to persuade an indecisive Alexis. The coach also let him know that his interest for the Chilean dated back to his youth days, when Udinese came into scene and then loaned him to River Plate in Argentina. There was no doubt back then, that the player had the necessary characteristics to be successful in a club like Arsenal.

After the meeting in Brasil, Alexis asked for a couple of days to reflect about everything discussed in the meeting.
Later, it took a couple of hours for the player let his agent (Fernando Felicevich) know that he had decided to sign for Arsenal, leaving behind any verbal agreements with Juventus. After a last conversation with coach Luis Enrique, the premiership had taken the player from the chaotic Calcio. Honestly can't see where United are getting this money to spend. Let alone spending it basically on all attacking players when their defence is horrible, more so now that they've also lost Evra, Rio and Vidic. Big risk if they don't produce and miss out on the Champions League again (which they shouldn't).

Alvaro Morata is set to sign for Juve for €22m on a 4 year deal, with a option of a fifth. Apparently Real will have a buy-back option of around €30m-€33m.

Juve have also sold Vucinic to Al Jazira for around €6m.

It would't be all put into a transfer fund, at least you wouldn't imagine it to be. Some of that would be set aside of wages, signing on bonuses and other similar things too.

But yeah, we're not really spending on attacking players at all. We've signed a midfielder and a defender, and are being most seriously linked to a midfielder, a centre-back and a winger. I'd argue we need a winger with genuine pace more than anything else, our options there are horrid.

Apparently we've told Arsenal we want 10m instead of 8m for Debuchy which has meant negotiations have stalled.
