Would have been surprised if Götze was interested anyway.

Well yeah there is that, plus he would have been far more expensive in terms of fee and wages than Henderson, but its still pretty indicative of the transfer policy we had in place.

Every time I watch Alonso I think he's at least 34 or 35.

But hasn't he just turned 30? He's a marvelous player, would love to see him at United.

Yeah, seen loads of people giving out about it. Don't see how he can complain, I'm pretty sure it wasn't just for calling him gay and that the language and middle-finger had something to do with it

Yea.
Fuck off FA.
Am I getting fined for that?

I do not recall they ever fined somebody for anything on Twitter. Did they?

Rooney was banned for 2 games for swearing into the camera so a fine for putting up a photo of Enrique sticking his middle finger up on Twitter is well justified if not lenient

“When I arrived (at Liverpool in November 2010) Tom was at the end of his contract,” Comolli explained to talkSPORT radio.

“One of the first things I did was meet him and his dad, and Paul was concerned the style of play (under Roy Hodgson) was not suited to his son, who was a quick winger.”

“When Roy went I think we made four or five contract offers to Tom which he kept turning down…he didn’t feel it was the right place for him to stay.

“The last offer would have made him the highest-earning player beneath the first team but to be fair to him I don’t think money was the issue.

“We never released him. You don’t release a player like this, you can’t force him to stay. I am very pleased that he is doing well. If they buy him back, good for him and good for Liverpool.”

Good to see that he left because he wanted to play football and develop his own skills properly. Hope he's got the ability to make a contribution to the squad now. I've only seen him play for Blackpool a few times but every time he's looked pretty decent.

It has nothing to do with the FA, it's purely a joke between two team mates, there is no reason for the FA to get involved.

Ryan Babel got fined when he played for Liverpool ffs!

Just off the top of my head Carlton Cole, Rio Ferdinand, Ashley Cole and Ravel Morrison are some other examples.

And before we get onto the 'im defending him cause he's a Liverpool player', I'm not, I just really don't understand what he's done to be fined. I perfectly understand Babels punishment but this one?

The issue (to my understanding at least) is using the word 'gay' as an insult - the connotation being that being gay is a bad thing/wrong.

It's hardly using it as an insult, I get where you're coming from sort of, but that is ridiculous.
