Yeah after that first goal I would have loved a boring defensive LVG performance

All take the piss out of Liverpool pre season, now look what's gone on!

Bastian was woeful, and aside from his assist Mata was fucking shit.
Damage was done, we should have beat PSV at home with ease. Could have scored more goals, but so could have Wolfsburg.
I thought we'd be out anyway, but then this fucking club gave me false hope.

Come join us, well pretend its the old Champions League days but on Thursdays

Let's hope we go out of the Europa League asap.

Yeah, thats when we went out in honesty.
Objectively speaking, I thought we were good today. Should have done better with probably all three of their goals (but their second was one of the better goals I can remember scored against us). And were unlucky to only score two.
If we play like that all season Van Gaal will win back the moaners who apparently care more about the performance than the result but are now moaning because we lost.

I'm honestly a little bit surprised that he's avoiding a pasting. Most of the things United fans are complaining about on the internet at the minute didn't actually happen in that game, so it wouldn't be THAT weird if they were going after a player that didn't play, too.

Of course we should be through in the group stage, we should have wrapped it up against PSV at home. The manner of which we went out is what disappoints me the most. But people are forgetting United are in transition, 10 years ago we were knocked out of the group stage entirely by Benfica, yesterday I was reading through articles at the time calling for Fergie to retire, that he'd never win anything again, and we all know what happened. At the time of us going out the Glazers had taken over and Keane had just left - a big transition.
We all know it'd be messy when Fergie retired. Moyes was a huge disaster so LvG was brought in to stabilise the club and rebuild the team, removing all the deadwood. He's doing all of that now. He's completed the first task of bringing us back to the CL, of course we should have got through the group stage, but if we finish in the top two of the PL and win a cup, will anyone care in May? Calling for LvG to be sacked is fucking stupid, we're three points off the top! Of course at the moment the way we're playing isn't great and we should demand more - but everybody should look at the league table.
The style of football isn't everyone's preference, we played attacking yesterday and lost - people still moan. The decision making is baffling at times, but there were positives yesterday. Our youngsters looked terrific, remember all the articles saying we lost our identity when we sold Welbeck, an average striker who's done nothing at Arsenal except score against United, yet we bought on Borthwick-Jackson instead of Young when Darmian got injured. Also Varela did superbly last night, Martial and Memphis were our main attacking threats and did well. We also had a fuck load of injuries and bad luck.
It's a huge process at United replacing Fergie, LvG has done the job he was bought in to do, CL is a disappointment of course and he must take the blame, but sacking him now would destroy the stability. Saying that, if Pep or Ancelotti are available in the summer, I'd happily go for them. If we bring in Giggs after LvG it'll be just as big a risk as Moyes was.
Michael Owen last night said two amazing things:
1. "Quite far... quite a way off, from challenging for titles." we're three points off the top.
2. United winning the league would only be 'papering over the cracks'. What?
