All that money spent and ending up with Varela, Powell, Lingard and Borthwick-Jackson on the pitch to try and get you out of the CL group phase And not even a difficult group.

To be fair, we have 8 first team injuries. Including (at the point BoJack was sent on) 4 full backs in Darmian, Valencia, Shaw, and Rojo. I don't think theres many clubs that could cope with that and not have to play the kids. Thats one of the things I like most about LVG though, he's not afraid to chuck youngsters on.

Fuck knows why Powell came on though.

I can't see Arsenal doing the necessary tonight, hope they go all out and attack though!

Well we're playing our most attacking team possible

Cech
Bellerin - Mertesacker - Koscielny - Nacho
Flamini - Ramsey
Walcott - Özil - Campbell
Giroud

Playing a very risky game playing our only two strikers though. Especially when Theo's just come back from injury.

You just know Arsenal will be 2-0 up going into the last 10 minutes and then concede.

Na we'll go through and just get hammered by Barcelona and make our usual last 16 departure.

It was time for Hernandez to leave.

I know he's doing well and scoring goals, but he doesn't have the game to play as a striker for a top club and it was best for both of us for him to move on.

As for Januzaj I'd be fucked if I know, made no sense at the time, and now Lingard's playing every game and he's sitting on the bench in Dortmund. Hopefully we've got an option to bring him back in January.

Its very simple. Van gaal is clueless as a manager.

I'd disagree about Hernandez, he might not be world class but he gets you goals, good option to have as a sub at worst. You've had worse up front for sure

I think the thing with him is he really dropped off when he was used off the bench, he seems like the player who needs match rhythm and to be playing to get the best out of him. It took him a little while to get up to speed at Leverkusen, too. So although I agree with you that an in-form Hernandez would have been great off the bench (and better than fucking Fellaini) its something that was never going to happen. And especially when in Van Gaal's system the front 4 all have to be creators as well as finishers we were never going to be able to carry him, especially when he was missing chances rather than scoring them.

Don't get me wrong, I liked Hernandez and he's been a quality player for us at times, but he needed to move on for the sake of his career and we need a better calibre of striker than him.
