Installation Instructions
1. How do I install the cut-out megapack if I’m using Steam on Windows?
Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. Although it is for an older version of FM, the steps are still the same. You need to use Winrar (or a similar program) to extract the downloaded file.
This is what the MP folder should look like for the respective version of FM you're using:
Anything beyond the blue line is up to you and how you want to structure your folders.
The preferences should look like in the below screenshot:
To get them to look like this, navigate to your preferences on the welcome screen or by using the drop-down menu near the top right of the menu within your save game.
Choose the advanced tab (the blue square within the screenshot above) and select all from the drop-down menu on the right (the red square within the screenshot above).
Scroll down to the interface section near the middle of the list, where you are to make sure that:
• the “Use caching to decrease page loading times” box is unticked
• the “Reload skin when confirming changes in Preferences” box is ticked
After clicking confirm, it may take a few seconds or minutes for all the graphics to be loaded and you should now see all the graphics you have downloaded appear in your save game.
Once your skin is reloaded, you can re-tick the "Use Caching to Decrease Page Loading Time" button so that the splash screen at the start takes a lot less longer to load. However, the above process needs to be undertaken every time you add graphics to your game to ensure that the game "reads" them.
2. How do I install the cut-out megapack if I’m using a Mac OS?
From FM20 onwards, there's been a substantial change to how Mac FM documents are stored. Previously the files would automatically go in the Documents folder here:
Users/YOUR Mac USERNAME/Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 202x
Now the files will instead appear in the following location:
Users/YOUR Mac USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 202x
By default this folder is hidden, so to access you need to do as follows:
Open Finder
Click ‘Go’ from the menubar
Press and hold down the ‘Option’ (Alt) key
This will bring up the ‘Library’, click to enter then go to ‘Application Support’ -> ‘Sports Interactive’ -> ‘Football Manager 202x -> graphics’ (create the last folder if necessary
Anything beyond this path line is up to you and how you want to structure your folders.

3. I don’t want to have the megapack in the default user data folder – can I place it elsewhere and how would I do so?
You need to change your user data location. Simple steps on how to do so can be found here.
The above step does not apply if you’re playing on Gamepass, in which case the user data location has to be the default one (i.e. Documents / Sports Interactive / Football Manager 202x)
It is recommended that the user data location is not placed within the Steam installation folder as this may cause issues.
4. How do I install the cut-out megapack if I’m using Gamepass?
If you're using Gamepass, then you have to use the default user data folder - point 4 above does not and can not apply to you.

Torrent files need a torrent client to be downloaded. I personally use µTorrent but other common clients are BitTorrent, Vuze and Deluge. For those using torrents for the first time, here is a general walk-through on how to download torrents and a specific guide for µTorrent.
Be aware that it will take a substantial amount of time to download the file due to its sheer size and that other people depend on you hosting the file to get it so please leave your torrent client on after you have fully downloaded it. The etiquette is generally accepted to be to upload as much as you download, although this might not always be possible. The older the torrent file, the less likely it is that there will still be users seeding it.
If done correctly, you should be asked if you want to overwrite files – accept. You should have one folder for faces and another folder for iconfaces, and no sub-folder whatsoever in them.
These steps are to be repeated for every update pack downloaded, and they are to be installed chronologically.
Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time.
Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.
The likelihood is that you've put the iconfaces in the faces folder, or used the wrong config file for each folder. As a result, the smaller images (in 25x18) are being upscaled to be displayed in the person's profile, hence the blurring. Re-install the update pack again, making sure you put the contents of each folder in the right place.
Alternatively, you can download fmXML and generate a config yourself. There's a video on YouTube on how to use it but it's really easy and the instructions are quite straight-forward.
To get them to show, you should individually download the cut-out faces that you want from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

So this thread might not belong here (sorry if it doesn't)
I have the latest cut out megapack and every thing seems to be fine. However, a few of the Norwich youth players are missing from my game (toffolo, cameron king and mcgeehan are just a few). Now the thing is they are actually in the game from the start, Two of my friends are playing with no pictures downloaded and they have picture on there games?
I have tried search the config file for Toffolo's ID, I have also searched my hard-drive for a photo of him. Both times I got nothing back so i'm not sure whats going on.
Any ideas? Would be much appreciated!
mons
For one thing, you have around 18,000 images less than the full complement, so you really should get yourself up-to-date.
Secondly, what is inside that sortitoutsi folder? If it's an update pack, then that's why it's not working. You should have one folder and one folder only with all the images in it.
Can you post an example of what you mean? Where have you installed the megapack please?
Cameron King's current megapack image was included in 6.03, as were Toffolo and McGeehan, so you either have an old or incomplete version of the megapack.
What version of the megapack do you have and how many images do you have in your megapack folder?

Everything else is working, see this for file http://puu.sh/cMImn.png
I think the issue is my config, which came looking like this, a mess http://puu.sh/cMIo9.png

Config might not be very user-friendly, but it should work equally well...

It was working before but then I deleted everything so I could do a clean install (some faces weren't working)

I'm not sure what that folder is doing there I have never downloaded an update after downloading mega packs 6. Should I delete that folder to see if it makes a difference? Or should I just download the torrent of mega pack 7?
antigravity83
I've completely deleted the install (including the hidden folders that were replaced by the licenses fix), reinstalled, reinstalled the faces, and still nothing!
I redownloaded the face pack, reinstalled the photos with the latest config file, and nothing. Reloaded skin and cleared cache in FM15 too.
I've currently got all my player photos in a "faces" folder in the "graphics" folder of Football Manager 15.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Good to see you've sorted the facepack issue
I'm not sure what you're asking for here. If it's club, nation or competition logos, then you need to download a logopack, available elsewhere on the site. If it's the faces icon pack, then you'd have to download the whole pack, yes.
Anywhere within the Documents > SI > FM2015 > graphics folder will do.
I'll repeat that the correct folder for these and any other graphic files is Documents > Sports Interactive > Football Manager 2015 > graphics. It's not entirely clear if this is your folder, although I grant it could well be
I am also not sure what the sortitoutsi folder contains. Remember, any files downloaded from the update packs should go INSIDE the main megapack folder and not elsewhere, overwriting when prompting.

I have version 7.0 I believe..
I guess it is possible I may have missed a section whilst downloading.
I have 130,600 images.
I suppose there is no way of adding these faces now without re downloading the entire megapack?
mons
Unfortunately, there's no way of knowing which updates you missed out on. I would recommend downloading the torrent file as that would ensure you definitely have the full 7.0 pack
Harrison Spence
Yeah its the faces icons pack im refering too. Im not too sure how I download them all. Do I have to download them individually from each update which from what I can tell starts at update pack 5.0. Or by downloading the 'Download complete icons pack (7.1)' under the download icons megapack heading at the top of the Cut Out Player Faces Megapack page does that give you every face icon?
mons
Yes it does
TheBantams
The sortitoutsi folder contains the 7.0 and the 7.1 changers. If i extrscted them to Documents > Sports Interactive > Football Manager 2015 > graphics - MEGAPACK.7.0 then inside the folder looks like this
Or is it supposed to look like this?

I had Faces Megapack 6.0 on FM14, but live in a country that has a really really terrible internet connection/speed. As an idea, it took 6-7 hours to update from the original BETA of FM15, to the final BETA version 15.0.3, and then another 7 hours to convert from BETA to current full game version 15.1.3.
My issue relating to faces, is that I wanted to download the whole 7.0 (now I see 7.1) Megapack, and started to do so on 4/5 occasions. I once got up to 19% but then my system said it had completed - this took over 10 hours. I was not able to resume, so deleted and started again. I repeated this a few times, with lesser percentage done before it said 'completed'.
In the end, I decided to copy my folder from FM14 to FM15. This took about 7 hours to do but worked and no faces were missing - and it's a good base to work from. Given these download speeds, and taking in to account I'm not great at this kind of stuff, what would be the best way to try and get right up to date on 7.1?
I wouldn't have minded it taking 24 hours if it worked for me, but alas, numerous attempts to do it say 'completed' at amounts less than 19%. Should I be looking to individually download all the updates since 6.0? If so, exactly how should this appear - do they all go in to different folders or must they be in one folder but with different names? Or is there ANY way that these can end up in the right place without me having to endure the hell of downloading? I'd love to know before I start the mission!
Thanks in advance if anybody has read this and can help.
P.S. I wish I could add some other things like logos, the real names fix, backgrounds etc - but just having faces is enough of a task so I won't be greedy!!

Does the sortitoutsi folder contain the 7.01 update pack images? If yes, you should have them in the main 7.0 folder and not in a separate folder - overwrite everything when prompted.
It really depends what version of the 6.0 megapack you downloaded. If it's the main 6.0 megapack and no further, then you'd have to download update packs 6.01 through to 6.10, then update packs 7.0 and 7.01. They're on average around 150MB, so they might be manageable on your internet connection. If you do go down this route, remember that you should have all the images in one folder and one folder only, so put the contents of each update pack in the main megapack folder, overwriting when prompted.
Alternately, you could download the torrent file, which you can leave running in the background and can be stopped and started as and when needed without any ill-effect. To be fully up-to-date, you should then download the 7.01 update pack, since the torrent file is only for the whole 7.01 pack and no further.
Hope I've managed to explain it well
Which site are you using to download the megapack in parts?
Jogo Bonito
Thanks Mons. Yes it was 6.0 so I will have to go all through versions 6.01 onwards individually. I'll try with the first one and see whether it works. If so, that might be the best way. Cheers as always.

Thanks so much!
I was wondering whether I should DL the 7.0+ versions and thought these were only for FM15. Question -- would these packs also work for FM15? Can I just copy the same folder tht I have for FM14 over to the FM15 folder?
mons
Yes, but obviously you would have to download the latest updates to be up-to-date, but it'd be perfectly fine otherwise.
ryanthegunner
I have finally re downloaded the cut out megapack 7.0.
However my pictures of the Norwich youth players still aren't showing!? Any other ideas? Im totally baffled tbh
ryanthegunner
I just downloaded 7.01 and they work fine!
I dont know what happened but we're all good now. Thank you!
