Just after some quick advice. Looking to possibly get a new laptop in the near future as my current one is being shite (Toshiba Satellite L500).

What brands are best to go for?

Depends what your budget is like, and what you need it for.

Budget around 500 of the queen's pounds. Use it for normal things, FM, watching movies etc. and would also like to be able to play some more labour intensive games that my current laptop cant do.

Quick look around and this one seems decent, although you might need to upgrade the gfx card on it to play games on 'high/ultra' settings.

The reason I suggested Samsung is for build quality and reliability mainly

Does anyone know a good place to buy hard-drives for Toshiba Satellite laptops? My HDD is corrupted and I need a new one.

2.5" SATA HDDs

Take your pick, they should do the job.

For gaming the Lenovo Y580 is perfect. Pretty cheap and will do anything.

Is that what you have? Whats the quality like with Lenovo? Had a look at one, the Z580, looks good.

I'm selling my old laptop as I won one if you're interested?

Nothing wrong with it - i5 processor, 500gb hard drive, 4GB ram etc etc.

Dunno if you'd be interested in second hand or not though.

FM runs perfectly on it, I've used it for the past year without a problem.

It's a Dell Inspiron.

Looking for about £190-200.

I have an X1 Carbon, it's a business laptop. I wouldn't recommend it for gaming.

What are those laptops called where you can flip the screen around and then use it as a tablet? They seem pretty cool and my current laptop's shite, I want one. I think.

I'm not saying the laptop is shit and if I was to buy a new laptop I think Asus would be top of the pile.

The name however - is shit.

The ASUS Zenbook UX31A was the only other ulttrabook I considered when getting my laptop. They have a slightly newer model now, but I'd still go with what I have purely because it's sexier. I wouldn't recommend getting a touch based latptop, the gimmick seems fairly redundant and I wouldn't like the idea of finger smudges all over the screen, especially if you do a lot of work on it.

If you're absolutely set on it then Lenovo make an X1 Carbon Touch now, but it's not really my scene:
