"Arsenal have done half the job"

Not really.

Unlucky Arsenal tonight, it was just too big a task for them. Created so many openings, decision making at times let them down. Bayern were average.

Robben is absolutely pathetic, Podolski's goal was great - Pandiani like and Fabianski's penalty save is already one of my favourites.

Proud of the performance, no shame in going out to Bayern.

Arjen Robben is a fucking cunt though. Wenger calls him out for diving and he feels like he's being treated unfairly. Really hope someone knocks them out this year.

Lescott's got away with a cynical foul on the half way line and a blatent penalty right in front of the ref.

Could be off.

That goal was onside too.

City have at least got the luck tonight.

Yeah, Pellegrini can't complain about the ref after this game.

Messi hits the post as well.

If City actually started playing this feels like it could be a 'one of their night' nights.

Lescott is having an absolute shocker.

I can see why they'd rather Deimechelis plays.

As a football match this game has been a bit crap.

But there's been some hilarious moments in it.

City score. Looked way offside, until the replay. Great decision.

Some of you genuinely do not understand the emotions that a player goes through when on the pitch. He's side are on the verge of being knocked out of the competition and the ref has just missed one of the most blatant penalty appeals you'll ever see, he's every right to have a go.

He certainly does not have every right to have a go. Hence why it's against the rules to do that, and why he got sent off.

When you look at City's squad they really have paid a lot of money for garbage in places.

How many players have they got that can actually come in and do a job when the first team get injuries/suspension?

They must have spent a good £200m+ on absolute dross over the years.

To be fair, that's mainly due to Mark Hughes.

They need a new center back, having to rely on Lescott and Demichelis is never a good thing.

Well yes, that doesn't help but things like Lescott and Milner playing in a Champions League quarter final is definitely something they could have addressed long before now, and they cost a combined £50m-ish.

Not massively fussed over that to be honest. We played alright, had a bit of good luck with decisions then some horrific luck but truthfully, I never really expected anything tonight. I just hope we manage to get a result against Hull on Saturday (at 12:45 ffs).

Not very many. It's basically the combination of handing Mark Hughes a massive suitcase full of cash and telling him to go for it and the disastrous transfer window after the title win when we spunked millions on Rodwell and García. We've ended up paying over the odds for decent (but not exceptional) players and then spent one of the most important windows we've had buying bad players.

It's why I scoff when we're talked about as having the best squad in the league. We probably have the best XI and a very good squad but compared to Arsenal or Chelsea we don't have the strength in depth.

Very harsh on Milner, he's far, far better than Lescott and considering the threat Barça have down the flanks it's not unreasonable to have him playing out-wide. Fair point on Lescott though, that problem should have been solved after he almost lost us the league against QPR.

Ref was shite for both teams all game.

Milner more than deserves to play in a CL QF, what a ridiculous statement.

Lescott just showed why I prefer RVD.

Dzeko was awesome when he came on, Negredo hasn't looked bothered recently

Milner is just an incredibly average footballer, a workhorse thats a level below what you require.

Credit where it's due he was very, very good when he came on.

He's really not. There's far more to his game than simply work-rate. He's not at the same level as Yaya or David Silva but that doesn't mean he's a bad player.

I didn't say he was a bad player, I said he was an average one.

I can see why he's a decent player to have around the squad, but when you're paying the money you have done for players you can certainly do better, and certainly, in terms of players that are going to make meaningful contributions to a team winning on big European nights he's low down on the list.
