I'm creating this thread specifically for this file. Support for this file will be limited, for the simple reason that there might be multiple reasons why the file doesn't work, and it's not my main focus.

The main megapack works because the Unique IDs used to map images to the right person are fixed and the same in everyone's game. For people added in editor data files, the Unique ID is not fixed and will change depending on the combination of other data files that the user has in place. Different people have different editor data files in place and it is therefore very difficult to make sure that the UIDs used in the pack are the exact same as the ones in people's game.

The pack is regularly updated to try and find a way around this, and also to factor in the addition of new people to the data update.

It is imperative that this file is installed in a different sub-folder to the main megapack. In this way, if you've messed up the installation of the FM24/26 facepack for people added in the Data Update, at least the main megapack would still work.

A good way to ensure you get assistance is to please help us to help you by explaining clearly what the issue is and accompany it with screenshots of your megapack folder, showing clearly the full path it’s located in as well as how many images are in that folder.

I downloaded the Newgen Face Packs and placed the file into the suggested folder, as there was a file with that name already I replaced that one with the newly downloaded file. I set the preferences in the actual game to use computer generated images in the game for created players and staff but when I started a new game, the faces are all a black circle, any ideas what went wrong?

How did you revert to the original file?

I just backed up the file that you replace before I moved the new file into the folder, when I'm on my laptop I'll add it here for you later

I have noticed that the player ID's dont match up with the ID's on the image in the face pack. Does anyone know a fix for this? Does sortitoutsi have a young player database as I am running one from a different website at the minute and wondering if this is why the ID'S aren't matching up?

For those of you having issues - a request for some extra information, please, so that we can try and troubleshoot and find a solution.

Firstly, can you all please confirm which version of the game you are using - FM24 or FM26? As we provide the new players facepack for both. For FM26, the reasons for facepack IDs being misaligned are more numerous - we have to pivot our ID numbering whenever SI release a new update for FM26 which includes new players added to the default database…as it offsets the ‘starting ID’ for newly-created players. So that could be a factor. For FM24, this is less a factor as the official DB is static and has been for some time (years) now.

Secondly, can you confirm how you are installing it? Are you ensuring it is placed in its own sub-folder within your ‘graphics’ folder, as it is a standalone pack (i.e. not to be merged with the main facepack)? Feel free to share screenshots if that is easier.

On the question posed about new players - yes, the SortItOutSI Data Update includes new players. Indeed, the facepack is a dedicated facepack for those new players and is designed for use when using the SortItOutSI Data Update.

If you are using ‘new player’ databases from elsewhere these could very much be interfering - as the game sequentially assigns UIDs to players from custom data files in the order they are read. So if you're using a ‘new player pack’ from elsewhere and it is being read first, it will cause all of the SortItOutSI Data Update new players to have different UIDs from the ones configured in the corresponding facepack.

In terms of gameplay, it is also likely you'll have duplicate players in the game. Our recommendation is not to use the SortItOutSI Data Update alongside other ‘new player’ packs/databases, for both the reason of duplicates and the potential to break facepacks.

I am running fm26 and Yes I merged the facepack files and the config files,  i managed to get max dowman to show up in game by changing the image ID to the correct one that was showing in game. Is there any chance you could post the link to your database update as I tried to install what I thought was the correct one but then it wasn't showing up when I started a new game

The SortItOutSI Data Update is available via https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-data-update. On that page, there are links to both the FM24 and FM26 Data Update, respectively.

Just to be sure: if you have merged the ‘main’ facepack (containing over 500,000 images) and the ‘new players’ facepack, it is likely this will result in none of the images from the main facepack working in-game. Each of these are separate facepacks, with their own, independent config.xml file. As such, if you put them all in the same folder, with one config.xml file overwriting the other, whichever config.xml file you're left with will only contain entries for some of the images.

Within the graphics folder, you need separate sub-folders for the ‘main’ and ‘new players’ facepacks, each containing the respective images and corresponding config.xml file.

All that being said, if you have seen that the UIDs don't match, then that is still an issue. I personally do not play FM26, but there are two reasons why the UIDs configured in the facepack and the game don't match:

1. The facepack hasn't been updated following a recent Sports Interactive update to FM26, which has offset the UID numbering.

2. You are using extra custom files that introduce new players, which has offset the UID numbering.

The solution for #1 is for the facepack to be updated by our staff team. The solution for #2 is not to use those extra custom files.

Hi I am also running FM26 & can't get the face pack working & it is very frustrating as someone as already said it looks like the ID don't add up & I have tried my best to amend them but I that didn't work & I don't want to ruin it all. So for example JJ Gabriel ID in the face pack is 2002042594 & in the game his ID is 2002043021 it is sooooo annoying that you do these face packs & work so hard but we have these little issues is this something you can fix.

Thanks

Hi all, see my comments on https://sortitoutsi.net/content/359/megapack-technical-support-thread?page=337

I managed to get it working eventually. In game had show player ID active and check the UIDs for players are aligned to those in the megapacks etc in your files and supporting configs. I found because I had 4 separate cut out folders each with configs and then the sortitoutsi new players, live update and my own personal database all loaded up too that there was conflicts with UIDs when it came to created players added to the game which would cause the facepack configs to get confused.

Hi, I am playing on fm24 and added the new faces (without icon faces) to my game. I can see the newly added faces in my game, but instead all my previous standard cut-out faces are gone. The game is now left with only the newly added faces. How can i fix this? Thanks

Just saw the previous posts. It was because I merged the new players into my main face folder. I kept the new players in a separate folder and it works now.

My Max Dowman face isn't working I am trying to start a new save on the updated database and I have downloaded the new players face pack and put it into my graphics folder but it just comes up with a regen face, it worked on previous saves pre-update could it be because of the update that isn't showing

Many Thanks

No idea I have the ID in the pack but I can’t seem to find it in-game and I doubt it will be in the editor as he isn’t officially in the game, I have also started it multiple times with different variations of the Max Dowman download and none seemed to work
