Fair enough I don't think Liverpool really are either, but at least they've gone out and got the points on the board and until they stop doing that you can't write them off.

Spurs are going to need a lot more from Soldado and Lamela to come close and neither of them have really impressed me thus far.

Fair fucks to him, Ferguson and Allardyce. It's been a great move for him, and nice to see him making headlines for his obvious football talents.

Getting out of Manchester was the best thing that happened to him.

It looked for a while that he'd never reach his potential but over the last few games he's been superb. I can imagine United fans will be hoping he doesn't become too good, mind.

If he became that good he'll come back, I'm sure of it.

He's a United fan and (from what you can decipher from his foreign language on social media) completely understood the decision to sell him. We'd have to pay through the nose, of course, but we'd be talking about him being a very special player if we went bck.

Whether coming back to Manchester would be good for him or not I don't know, it would be easy to fall into his old circles and pick up his old habits.

He could always stick around in London and come to Arsenal. He is a Gooner, after all...

Pretty sure he was just saying he preferred Arsenal to Spurs. Although stranger things have happened. Remember when Liverpool fans were CONVINCED that Torres was a die hard fan?

He does at first, before then going on to say "‘Hopefully we can beat City. I'm an Arsenal fan but it's always nice to beat the opposite side of Manchester".

I don't think a lot of players truly support a team from a young age. I think unless young footballers play for a side their parents support or play for a team that is local to them and then make it with said club, then they probably do truly support that side (Gary Neville for example). But I can't imagine young players who move from club to club academies or move to a different city in order to play football really support anyone. I imagine players just like whatever club they are playing for and have favoured footballers but don't really support anyone. Not in the same way non-footballers do.

So Sunderland replaced one inexperienced lower league manager with... another inexperienced lower league manager? You'd think to sort out all the supposed egos in that squad you'd need someone who's been there and done that to get their respect.

Gus Poyet just seems like a slightly less crazy version of Di Canio.
