I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. They've not played particularly well, got through their first couple of games with penalty kicks and only gotten one point from their two big games so far (versus us and Chelsea). I mean yeah, they've got a great squad, but so do five other teams.

Fairs. I had never heard him called that until recently.

Getting out of Manchester was the best thing that happened to him.

It looked for a while that he'd never reach his potential but over the last few games he's been superb. I can imagine United fans will be hoping he doesn't become too good, mind.
Ninja
If he became that good he'll come back, I'm sure of it.
He's a United fan and (from what you can decipher from his foreign language on social media) completely understood the decision to sell him. We'd have to pay through the nose, of course, but we'd be talking about him being a very special player if we went bck.
Whether coming back to Manchester would be good for him or not I don't know, it would be easy to fall into his old circles and pick up his old habits.

He could always stick around in London and come to Arsenal. He is a Gooner, after all...
Ninja
Pretty sure he was just saying he preferred Arsenal to Spurs. Although stranger things have happened. Remember when Liverpool fans were CONVINCED that Torres was a die hard fan?
Telegram Sam
He does at first, before then going on to say "‘Hopefully we can beat City. I'm an Arsenal fan but it's always nice to beat the opposite side of Manchester".

We'll just bring Ramsey home now you've made him good for us.

Ramsey turned down Manchester United to join Arsenal.

I didn't know that. Makes it even better that we got him.

As is Bale apparently.
Although I think that one was more that he grew up idolising Giggs and then started idolising Ronaldo, hence Madrid.
I know a guy who was in the United academy a few years back (mates with Fletcher so that sort of era) who's so bitter that he didn't make the grade that he now supports Liverpool. I imagine those scenarios are quite common, and the less extreme examples cause similar but less extreme reactions.

So from an overawed maverick to a rumoured egomaniac.

The problem at Sunderland is the players, not whichever manager they get in

This.
A manager with no Premiership experience didn't really work out well last time. I can't see it working out this time, they need safe hands.

How come the media seem to be saying Di Canio did a good job last year, and was a successful short term appointment? He took them from 16th to 17th.
