Goal.com have seen quite adamant it's happening for a while. You never know with them.

Gotze has told Bild he's unhappy, Van Gaal apparently wants Muller. How amazing, two great players linked with United at the same time as season ticket renewals.

Few reports making the rounds saying that Diego Costa to Chelsea is a done deal for £35m on a 5 year deal worth about £150k p/w, and was completed soon after the CL second leg.

Pfft, what a step down!

5million euros is a stupidly small transfer fee considering he's on a 5-year deal, but I suppose no-one else is willing to pay his wages. I would actually be disappointed as I like Nani, and think he would suit a Van Gaal 4-4-3 quite well.

I don't think United will be allowed to play with 12 players on the pitch just because Van Gaal is the manager.

Ah, dammit. Your post won't make sense if I edit it now, so I'll leave it there for posterity so people can all see my error.

Spanish newspaper El Confidencial claiming that Chelsea's interest in Filipe Luis is because of Mourinho accepting Shaw is coming to United.

Not sure if this is based on any actual knowledge, or a bit of 2+2 from them,

Think the Telegraph said something similar when they reported the Costa + Luis deals the other day.

I wouldn't worry, the only source is Tuttosport and they aren't very reliable, plus they've brought up the Nani deal 3 or 4 times over the last year, usually when there isn't much to report...

After watching him against Lazio tonight Juve could do a damn sight worse than Juan Iturbe (like Nani), safe to say somebody at Porto's been fired for only giving him a €15m release clause.

If there's any truth to this I'd genuinely want about half of them.

Basically willing to listen to offers according to that for any of:

Fabregas, Mascherano, Pedro, Sanchez, Tello, Alves, Song and others.

Please come back Cesc.

We don't even need you, but you'll fit somehow; someway.

I don't think we even really need him, but it's hard to say no to someone of Fabregas' quality for £25m (which is supposedly the fee we have agreed with Barcelona if they choose to sell). I'd be delighted if he came back. Vela too.

We should get Cesc back, not least because I sure as hell don't want him improving someone else's team.

He'd improve Arsenal's team tbf - there's no-one better than him that you currently have.

The point is neither Ozil or Ramsey are getting dropped so it's tough to fit Fabregas in. We'd find a way though.

Man, the thought of dropping Ramsey is just unfathomable to me. He's the most important part of our team and we miss him more than any other player when he's not available. He can do everything.

Probably, but Ramsey is more important to our side than Fabregas would be if he returned.

Fabregas is also better than Wilshere - and he's not far off Ozil imo.

Yeah, but you can hardly play all 3 of them.

A few points:

1) Wilshere for me wouldn't even get in a fully fit Arsenal side, but I'd definitely start him for England.
2) The only midfielder we have as good as Cesc is Özil. They're two of the best playmakers in the World.
3) Cesc is far more complete than people give him credit for. He dominated playing centrally in a 442, there's absolutely no reason he can't play alongside Ramsey behind Mesut.

Could sign a tremendous DMC too, and play a diamond. Giroud and Remy uptop.

Wenger's been saying recently that he wants someone to play alongside Giroud as well as instead of him. I personally would got for more of a 4312 with the fullbacks providing width:

Szcz
Sagna pls - Mert - Kos - Gibbs
New pls
Ramsey - Cesc
Özil
Giroud - New pls

We need width - there's no point in having all of these creative midfielders if you're just going to crowd the middle. We've suffered so much this season without Walcott on the right-wing and ideally we'll land someone like Antoine Griezmann to play on the left - if we can inject pace on the wings then Ozil will come into his own.

Yeah, the other option is of course Ozil going right to accommodate Fabregas.

Thats the problem I think this potentially would have, whilst you can fit him in, I don't think he massively improves what you've already got and at the expense of which creates a more unbalanced side than you currently have. Sentimentality aside, I don't think there would be a clamour to sign an identical player whose name didn't happen to be Fabregas.
